#2024TravelWish Lake Cave in Margaret River is an extremely pristine cave suitable for visitors of all ages. The cave is located directly below Cave Works. It is named for its fantastic crystal wonderland and was marvelously called "The Queen of the Earth" by Tim Connelly, who discovered it for the first time. When the soft light is turned on, the entire gem cave will become golden and its magnificent sight will amaze every visitor.

Visited mammoth cave with parents who are not able to climb stairs well. They were able to walk the first 2 levels and climb the first flight of stairs. Commentary provided through headsets helped. Available in English, Mandarin and other languages. The caves were spectacular especially for them who have never been into a cave before. Flew to Perth for three days in the CBD, then drove to Busselton for a night before heading to Cape Naturaliste en route to Margaret River for a three-night stay. Margaret River offered scenic views, delicious food, and perfect oceanfront accommodation near Surfer's Beach, just a short walk to nearby beaches. Took a day trip to Mammoth Caves and Cape Leeuwin, stopping along the way for scenic views and hikes. From Margaret River, drove towards Denmark and visited the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk. Then continued to Albany's Middleton Beach for daily swims in the bay, walks to Albany's CBD, and a hike at Bluff Knoll. Next, headed west and enjoyed a few days in both Bunbury and Fremantle, returning to Perth to see Split Enz and the following day join the Pinnacles guided bus tour. The tour included a rock lobster lunch in Cervantes and a Swan River Valley visit, led by an excellent guide, Chris. The Dale Tilbrook Aboriginal experience the next day was highly educational. Flew back to Brisbane for around four days on the Sunshine Coast, exploring the canals via boat tour, visiting the Australian Zoo, hiking Mount Ngungun, and spending an afternoon in Montville. Returned to Brisbane for one more night before flying home. It was a wonderful trip packed with adventures and unforgettable moments.

visited this cave on a weekday noon with elderly and children. touted as the most child friendly and senior friendly cave around the Margaret river area. it's a lot of steps but they are well marked with yellow tape so difficulty is low. mostly going uphill and then down towards the exit. after the cave exit thrres a flight of 160 steps and a bush walk about 350/700m depending on the route, and it leads you back to the visitor centre. very pristine and naturally kept, well worth a look ! it took us about an hour and a half.

Cool air (12°C year-round!) and a self-guided trail with various language audio let you explore at your own pace, making every moment feel personal and wild. Start your journey at the visitor centre on Caves Rd, then follow the easy boardwalk to the cave entrance. Inside, marvel at dramatic stalactites illuminated by soft lighting—especially magical at dusk if you catch a night tour. Must-do: Pause to read the info boards and spot prehistoric fossils embedded in the rocks! Photo spots abound—try close-up shots of crystal formations and the cave’s cathedral-like chambers, which look surreal under evening glow. Outside the cave, stroll along bush trails; wildlife sightings (kangaroos, parrots) are common if you walk quietly and take your time. Insider tip: Dress in layers; it’s chilly inside but warms up on the forest trails. Sturdy shoes are best, as there might be damp patches.

Head off to lake cave in the early morning to beat the afternoon sun and crowd. Listen attentively to the tour guide on the formation of the cave and some memorable names of the formations ie suspended table, emu and kangaroo. Further down of lake cave, prepared to be amazed by how tall the trees are grown in Boranup forest. Next, travel to Yallingup to see natural spa and canal rock broadwalk.

Day 1: Drive down from Perth. Stop by Bunbury, Busselton before reaching Margarets Beach Resort. · Had stopped by the farmer markets at Bunbury to get some fresh fruits. There is so much variety of different fruits sold by the local farmers. · Another stop at Busselton to have a lunch and wander around the area. The Besselton Jetty is not to be missed with a long jetty and a train to take if you want to enjoy the jetty. Day 2: Gnarabup Beach, White Elephant Cafe,Vasse Felix Winery, Margaret River Chocolate Factory · The white elephant cafe is just by the Gnanabup beach which serve excellent breakfast. It is always full of dinners since the morning and will close around 3pm · Many wineries in the Margaret River region and have chosen Vasse Felix. Had a distinct winery vibe and choose to pay A$10 for wine tasting to choose the drink you like. Do not forget the museum and vault within the winery. · Nearby is the Margaret River chocolate factory within a 10min drive. Another location to choose the award winning chocolate and view how chocolate is being manufactured. Day 3: Lake Cave, Augusta Beaches, Cape Leeuwin Water Wheel, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse · Lake Cave is a must visit cave to see a limestone cave with a permanent lake inside. Cost around A$25 for an adult ticket to have a guided tour for around an hour. However the steps up and down the cave could be quite tiring. But wonderful scene within the cave which is worth the hike. · Both Cape Leeuwin Water Wheel and Lighthouse are nearby one another. Deeply underrated for its wonderful scenery. The views are just stupendous and you can feel you are just so close to the ocean, to the Nature. Both are on the extreme Southern end of the Western Australia. A Picture is worth a thousand words. Spectacular cave and worth a visit! Self-guided tour with audio headset which comes with the tix, user friendly, and very informative. After the cave tour, there’s a 160 steps staircase going up to the ground. After that, there’s two 15 min or 30 min bush walking trails to pick to get back to visitor center. Would recommend the 30-min trail which offers more interesting plant species and landscape along the way.
