I visited this lounge during a layover at Lima International Airport. It was accessible with Priority Pass. As expected for a place known for its space and comfort, it was quite crowded, but I still managed to find a seat. My flight was delayed, so I couldn't relax much, but since I had about an hour, I was able to grab a meal. It was after midnight, and I really wanted to get some sleep, but I decided against it for fear of missing my flight.

We came back last week from an amazing holiday in Callao. The hotel was fantastic, offering us two spacious, lovely studios with a wonderful sea view. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the beds were super comfortable. The staff were absolutely wonderful and went out of their way to accommodate our 9-year-old son with special needs. We opted for self-catering, which worked perfectly since there are delightful restaurants nearby. We also met some great people, and all the kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool. No stressful battles over sunbeds either. All in all, it was excellent value for money. We’ll definitely return someday.

Larcomar is the cliffside mall built into the rock—enter free, café terrace at KO by Osaka or Puku Puku coffee S/12–18, or a golden-hour pisco sour at La Rosa Náutica S/35. I sat at Larcomar’s ocean deck with a S/14 maracuyá ice cream and watched the parabola of the coast bend toward Callao. Taxis from Centro to Miraflores S/15–20, Metropolitano to Ángamos then walk 10 min. Mistake: I came at 1 pm in July (Lima’s gray “garúa” fog) and saw nothing but mist—late afternoon in Dec–Mar is the clear window, or any month after 5 pm for the lights. Another mistake: buying soles at the mall exchange counter; street casa de cambio gives 3–4% better. Worth it? The Malecón is a 0-sol masterpiece; Larcomar’s value is the seat, not the food. Pay S/14 for ice cream with the parabola, skip the S/35 cocktail unless someone else is paying. Question: is a free cliff walk with fog better than a paid terrace with sun, or does Lima owe you both?

At the same time, the coastline is not far. You can quickly reach ocean viewpoints and boat departures toward places like the Islas Palomino, where sea lions and marine wildlife are the main attraction.
