Strolling through Okinawa's American Village, surrounded by its neon, cinematic vibes, I discovered a unique perfume brand called FSGB (Fortune Serendipity Glowing Beauty). I was instantly hooked by their concept! These aren't just perfumes; they're "magical luck scents." Each bottle features local Okinawan Shikuwasa citrus and the sacred Shell Ginger (Getto). The best part? You choose your scent intuitively or based on your personal destiny number. I couldn't resist picking up two treasures: · No. 2 (Harmony / Eternal Sunset) – An incredibly cozy and relaxing fragrance. One spritz and you’re transported to a vast Okinawan sunset, where the sky blends into shades of pink and gold. It’s pure harmony. · No. 8 (Infinite) – A deep, alluring, and inspiring scent. It smells high-end with great sillage, leaving you feeling like endless opportunities are coming your way. 📌 Save this spot for your next Okinawa trip: · Location: American Village, Depot Island Building (A), 1st floor. (Google Maps: 〒904-0115 Okinawa, Nakagami District, Chatan, Mihama, 9-1) · Hours: Open daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Check the official FSGB website. · Pricing: Very affordable, high-quality niche perfumery. A single fragrance mist is around 2,000 – 3,000 JPY, and a beautiful 3-scent gift set is 5,900 JPY. Credit cards are accepted. Now, a piece of Okinawa will always be with me through these scents. Every time I wear them at home, I’ll be taken back to this beautiful tropical island. 🌴

It was a pretty good experience! Even on a weekday, the bus was full. The guide was wonderful and shared plenty of stories. The schedule was well-paced, though the Kouri Bridge felt like it didn't have many highlights—it was more like just driving across it to check it off the list. At the end, you have the option to get off at American Village or return to the original meeting point.

American Village is quite expansive, with nearby beaches and a strong international presence. As the name implies, it's packed with American-themed attractions. Word is they even put on a fireworks display every Saturday night! 🎆 You can also spend some time exploring the nearby Aeon Mall; it's definitely enough to fill up an entire day. Just a heads-up: food prices here are quite steep. 💸 I paid 2,800 yen for a single plate of tomato pasta, and the portion was so tiny it felt like just a few bites. I actually had to head over to Aeon afterwards to grab some takoyaki just to fill my stomach. If you're looking for a meal, you might want to consider eating at Aeon instead. 🐙

If you're looking for a Japanese getaway with crystal-clear waters, stunning nature, and a unique cultural vibe, Okinawa definitely belongs on your bucket list. 🌸 Mar – May The weather begins to warm up, making it perfect for outdoor activities. It’s a great time for road trips, taking in the views, and exploring coastal towns. ☀️ Jun – Aug Summer is peak season for beautiful seas! It’s ideal for water sports, diving, swimming, and island hopping—just be sure to prepare for the heat and the possibility of typhoons. 🍂 Sep – Nov The air gets crisper and more comfortable, making it perfect for chill road trips and beach days. This is the ideal time to balance nature excursions with city tours. 🐋 Dec – Feb As the temperature drops, it's the season for slow travel. Explore the local culture, visit charming cafes, and even go whale watching during certain months. For your first trip, must-visit spots include Shuri Castle, Churaumi Aquarium, Kouri Island, Cape Manzamo, American Village, and the Blue Cave. If you have a few days, I recommend a mix of "city life + beach time + a road trip" to see all the different sides of Okinawa. 🇯🇵 Save this post and pick the season that best fits your travel style! 🌺

#localdiscoveries You don’t necessarily need a car to explore Okinawa! 🚌✨ I traveled from central Naha to Onna Village using buses and walking, and it was much easier than I expected. Here are some of the places I discovered: · 🌮 Tortilla — A famous taco spot in Okinawa, perfect for a casual lunch. · 🥞 Pancake House Paanilani — A popular pancake spot in Onna Village, known for its long lines. · 🍨 Blue Seal Ice Cream — A must-try Okinawan treat! Perfect for a little break along the way. · 🌊 Zanee Beach — A breathtaking scenic spot with beautiful ocean views. · 🏨 Hotel EXES Onna — A relaxing place to stay in Onna Village and a great base for exploring the area. 💡 Tip: If you’re staying around Naha or Onna Village, check the bus routes in advance and allow some extra time between stops. With a little planning, you can enjoy plenty of Okinawa without renting a car! 📍 Okinawa, Japan #easytravelpost #okinawatravel #withoutacar #japantravel #onnason

Okinawa was nothing like I imagined. Yes, the water is unbelievably blue—but what surprised me most was how slow and peaceful everything feels. Tiny seaside cafés, quiet village roads, tropical flowers blooming everywhere, and sunsets that make you want to stay a little longer. 💙 If it’s your first trip to Okinawa, this 4 days 3 nights itinerary is probably the easiest way to experience the island without feeling rushed. ⸻ ✈️ Day 1 · Fall in Love with Naha Start your journey in the heart of Okinawa. Explore the beautiful Shurijo Castle, wander through the charming Tsuboya Pottery Street, and get lost inside Makishi Public Market where locals shop for fresh seafood and traditional snacks. As the sun goes down, head to Kokusai Street—the busiest street in Okinawa filled with souvenir shops, izakayas, dessert cafés and live music. Must eat today 🍜 · Okinawa Soba · Taco Rice · Rafute Braised Pork · Blue Seal Ice Cream Don’t rush. Naha is best enjoyed by simply walking around. ⸻ 🚗 Day 2 · The Iconic Northern Coast Today is all about postcard scenery. Drive north to visit the world-famous Churaumi Aquarium and watch the majestic whale sharks glide above your head. It’s honestly one of the most impressive aquariums in Asia. After that, take a peaceful walk through Bise Fukugi Tree Road, where hundreds of old trees create a magical green tunnel. Finish the day crossing the stunning Kouri Bridge. The emerald water here looks almost unreal, especially during golden hour. Photo spots 📸 · Kouri Bridge viewpoint · Emerald Beach · Bise Tree Road ⸻ 🌊 Day 3 · Beaches, Cliffs & Sunset This is my favorite day. Begin at Cape Manzamo, where dramatic limestone cliffs meet the turquoise ocean. Then spend a relaxing afternoon around Onna Village, home to some of Okinawa’s prettiest beaches and luxury seaside cafés. Before dinner, drive to American Village. Colorful buildings, palm trees, street performers and incredible sunsets make it the perfect place to end the evening. Don’t miss 🍔 · Hawaiian-style cafés · Okinawan seafood · Sunset by the Ferris Wheel ⸻ ⛴️ Day 4 · Choose Your Adventure Depending on the weather, you have two amazing options. Option A: Ferry to Tokashiki Island for crystal-clear beaches, snorkeling and island vibes. Option B: Explore Southern Okinawa, including Cape Chinen, peaceful coastal roads and hidden ocean viewpoints. My advice? Check the sea conditions the night before and stay flexible. ⸻ 🚝 Transportation Guide Getting around Okinawa is easier than many people think. Yui Rail 🚈 Perfect for Naha city, airport transfers and travelers who don’t plan to drive. Rental Car 🚗 The best choice for Northern Okinawa, beaches and scenic viewpoints. Roads are easy to drive and parking is widely available. Day Tour 🚌 Ideal if you’re traveling solo or don’t have an international driving permit. Ferry ⛴️ Reserve tickets early, especially during weekends and holidays. ⸻ 🏨 Best Areas to Stay 📍 Naha Best for first-time visitors, shopping, food and easy airport access. 🌴 Kokusai Street Perfect if you love cafés, nightlife and staying within walking distance of everything. 🏖️ Onna Village Beautiful beachfront resorts, ocean views and a relaxing holiday atmosphere. 🌅 American Village Great for sunsets, families, shopping and stylish seaside hotels. Recommended split: 2 nights in Naha + 1–2 nights in Onna Village. ⸻ 🌺 Helpful Tips Before You Go · Rent a car early during peak seasons. · Bring sunscreen even on cloudy days. · A light rain jacket is surprisingly useful. · Visit popular viewpoints before 9 AM for quieter photos. · Keep your island day flexible because ferries depend on the weather. Okinawa isn’t about ticking off attractions—it’s about slowing down, chasing sunsets, eating amazing local food and enjoying one of Japan’s most beautiful islands. I already want to go back. 💙 #Okinawa #JapanTravel #VisitJapan #OkinawaGuide #Naha #KouriIsland #ChuraumiAquarium #CapeManzamo #OnnaVillage #AmericanVillage #TokashikiIsland #JapanItinerary #IslandLife #TravelBucketList #ExploreJapan

If you're visiting Okinawa, Mihama American Village in Chatan is a absolute must-add to your itinerary. It’s one of those spots where you plan to just "stop by" and end up easily spending several hours. 📍 Mihama American Village, Chatan It’s about a 30–40 minute drive from Naha Airport, depending on traffic. The complex is located right along the coast. 🌈 WHY YOU SHOULD GO Because it’s probably nothing like the Okinawa you imagined. Think bright, multi-colored buildings, palm trees, neon signs, quirky boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and an endless array of details you'll want to photograph. It feels like a unique blend of Americana, Okinawa, and a whimsical fairytale town. That’s exactly why it’s almost impossible to walk more than a few feet without stopping for a photo. 📸 ENDLESS PHOTO OPS This is perhaps one of the main reasons to visit. You can take photos: 🌴 against a backdrop of vibrant buildings and palms 🌊 by the sea and along the waterfront 🌅 during the golden hour at sunset 🏘️ tucked away in the colorful side streets 💡 at night when the neon signs and lights come to life 🍹 on cafe terraces overlooking the ocean The photos turn out completely different every time—you don't have to hunt for that one single "perfect" spot. 🍦 AND NOW FOR THE BEST PART—THE FOOD! Get ready for a real gastronomic marathon 😂 In and around American Village, there’s a massive selection of restaurants and cafes serving everything from Japanese and Okinawan to American, Mexican, Italian, and more. Even the official Okinawa tourism site highlights the incredible variety of dining options in the area. My absolute must-try: Blue Seal 🍦 This is the famous Okinawan ice cream brand. If you haven't tried Blue Seal in Okinawa yet, this is the perfect place to fix that. With so many flavors to choose from, picking just one is a challenge in itself! 😅 There’s a Blue Seal Depot Island Seaside right in the village, so you won't have to look far. 🌊 DON'T MISS THE BOARDWALK After shopping and eating, head straight to the water. The Depot Island Boardwalk is one of the most pleasant places for a stroll. You can walk along the water, pop into a cafe, sit down with your ice cream, and wait for the sunset. The sunsets here are widely considered one of the highlights of Chatan. ☔ WHAT IF THE WEATHER TURNS BAD? I’d still go. This is one of those cases where rain won’t necessarily ruin your day. You can hide away in a cozy cafe or restaurant, browse the shops, check out the souvenir boutiques, enjoy a meal, try some Blue Seal, admire the unique interiors, and take photos with a completely different mood. American Village even has a cinema and other indoor entertainment, so it’s not just a place for sunny walks. ⏰ HOW MUCH TIME TO ALLOT? I’d suggest at least 2–4 hours. If you want to enjoy a proper meal, walk by the sea, take photos, and catch the sunset, you can easily spend half a day here. This is exactly the timeframe recommended by the official main island itinerary. My verdict for your Okinawa trip: American Village is more than just "looking at colorful houses." It’s a place to walk, eat, photograph, shop for souvenirs, watch the ocean, and meet the sunset. And that’s exactly why I would definitely add it to your journey 🇯🇵❤️

If you only have one day in Okinawa, focus on the island’s best mix of beautiful coastline, Ryukyu culture, local food and tropical scenery. If you're in Okinawa — you have to try Blue Seal! It's one of those treats you initially get "just to try," only to find yourself wanting to go back for another flavor. 😍 I especially loved trying it in American Village. There are several Blue Seal locations here, so you can pick your favorite, but the best one is definitely the one overlooking the sea and the promenade. That’s where I took these photos. 🌊💙 It’s one of those cases where the setting makes the ice cream taste even better: sitting there with a bright blue scoop, surrounded by palm trees, the sea, and a beautiful boardwalk — it feels like you've stepped into a perfect Okinawan postcard. 🍦 Now for the flavors! My favorites: 💙 BLUE WAVE — Hands down my #1! A bright blue pineapple-based ice cream mixed with refreshing soda sorbet. It’s unique, light, and fits the Okinawan vibe perfectly. 🧂 OKINAWAN SALT COOKIES — Creamy ice cream with Okinawan salt cookies. The sweet and salty combo is just 🔥. It’s one of those flavors you truly have to try while in Okinawa. 🍓🍫 NEAPOLITAN — A familiar classic with strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla. A great choice if you’re not in the mood for experiments. The variety is huge: they have the classics, an American line, and plenty of unique Okinawan flavors — like purple sweet potato, black sugar, shikuwasa, Okinawa Pineapple Coconut, and more. Keep in mind that the menu can vary by location. 💴 PRICES At the time of my visit: 1 scoop — ¥400 2 scoops — ¥670 3 scoops — ¥950 💙 Pro tip: Don’t stop at one scoop! Get two different flavors and do your own little tasting. Blue Seal is a total "sweet addiction": once you try it, you’ll start seeing it everywhere in Okinawa and thinking, "Okay, just one more scoop..." 😂🍦 If you're in Okinawa, make sure to check it out. Personally, I’d go back just for the BLUE WAVE! 💙🌊.

Just got back from Naha, and staying at this amazing hotel was such a pleasant surprise! 😆 Rihga Royal Gran Okinawa 📍The location is absolutely incredible! Convenient transportation + spacious rooms + excellent service – definitely the top choice for a hotel in Naha! #NahaHotel #OkinawaTravel #JapanTravel #NahaAccommodation #OkinawaGuide

When people think of Japan, many usually picture Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, or Hokkaido first. But in the south, there is another side of the country with a completely different vibe: Okinawa. 🌊🌺 Visiting here feels like seeing a whole new version of Japan. Between the crystal-clear blue waters, scenic coastal roads, seaside cafes, traditional Ryukyuan red-tiled houses, and the Shisa statues guarding almost every corner, there is a laid-back atmosphere that naturally makes you want to slow down your pace. What I love most is that Okinawa offers so much more than just a "beautiful sea." You can experience a variety of things in one trip: Cape Manzamo for its dramatic cliffside views, Kouri Island with its stunning sea-crossing bridge, the iconic Churaumi Aquarium, the peaceful tree-lined paths of Bise Village, and American Village for those seeking a fun atmosphere filled with shops, restaurants, and great photo spots. If you're an adventure seeker, there is snorkeling, glass-bottom boat tours, kayaking, and SUP to suit your style. Some days, the best thing to do is simply find a beautiful beach, sit back, look at the ocean, and let time slip away—that alone makes the trip worth it. The food scene is also much more diverse than I expected! 🍜 You have to try Okinawa Soba, Taco Rice, Goya Champuru (bitter melon stir-fry), Umibudo (sea grapes), purple sweet potato treats, and sea salt ice cream. Each dish has a distinct character that gives you a true taste of Okinawa’s culture beyond just the beach scenery. Another highlight for me was the seaside cafes. The atmosphere is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of big cities. Sipping a cold drink while gazing at the waves is when this trip truly felt like a "real vacation." If it’s your first time, I recommend not overpacking your schedule. Okinawa is best enjoyed by car, allowing you to stop whenever you see something interesting. Often, the hidden gems that aren't on the famous lists—like a small roadside shop or a quiet viewpoint—end up being the highlights of the journey. I’ve put together a guide covering must-visit spots, food, cafes, activities, photo ops, and a pre-trip checklist. Save this for your next adventure! If you love trips that blend the ocean, nature, great food, and a slow, relaxing pace, you really should visit Okinawa at least once. 💙

A vibrant American-style seaside village in Chatan, Okinawa, this destination brings together restaurants, cafes, shopping, and endless photo opportunities in one spot. Highlights include strolling past colorful buildings, shopping for souvenirs, visiting seaside cafes, and watching the sunset at nearby Sunset Beach. The atmosphere becomes even more beautiful and lively from evening to night, making it ideal for photos. It's about a 40-minute drive from Naha Airport, or you can take a bus to the Kuwae stop followed by a short walk. Pro tip: Arrive around 4:00 PM to explore and shop, then end your visit with a breathtaking sunset view by the sea.

This Okinawa trip started as a simple plan to wander and eat, but it quickly turned into a "wanting to eat and buy everything cute" marathon 😂 As soon as we landed, our first stop was Naha Airport to shop for Chiikawa! Seeing all the Chiikawa merch completely melted my heart 🥹💕—it's absolute heaven for fans and a place where you'll definitely lose self-control. You can't go to Okinawa without hitting up Ichiran Ramen 🍜. There’s just something about having that familiar flavor in Japan that hits different. One hot bowl down, and I felt like the trip had officially begun! We visited Gyokusendo Cave next. Walking through the limestone caverns was way more breathtaking than I expected, offering a totally different vibe from Okinawa's coastal views. Following the walk with a sweet, toasted dango 🍡 was a simple yet perfect moment of bliss. By evening, we were exploring American Village. With its vibrant streets, seaside sunset, and distinct Americana vibe, it felt like a true holiday. For dinner, we tucked into some iconic Okinawan Taco Rice 🌮🍚. The moment the fireworks lit up the coast was pure magic. The sea breeze, the display, and the company made the atmosphere absolutely perfect. 🎆✨ The next day was dedicated to the long-awaited Churaumi Aquarium 🐋. Watching the whale sharks and manta rays glide through the massive tank was mesmerizing—I could have stood there forever. The scale of the "Kuroshio Sea" is both stunning and incredibly healing; it’s something you really have to see for yourself. Back in Naha, we did one last food tour along Kokusai Dori 🤣 We started with an A&W burger 🍔 and rounded it off with some gelato 🍦. Honestly, this trip could be summed up as: Non-stop eating, shopping, and photo-taking. My stomach was never actually empty 😂 Even though four days isn't long, we managed to fit in all the best sights and eats. Okinawa is the perfect place to just zone out, eat well, watch the ocean, and take it slow. You don't need a packed itinerary—just wandering into a random shop, finding something cute, or sitting by the waves becomes a highlight of the trip. DIY travel, no car rental

Calling all chocolate lovers! 🍫 I’ve been getting a bit tired of coffee lately and wanted to switch things up, By chance, I tried the chocolate milk from this specialty chocolate shop, and the moment I took a sip, I was overwhelmed with pure happiness! The texture is incredibly smooth and velvety, rich without being overly sweet, I couldn't help but think how satisfying it would be to have a cup of this every single day~ Unfortunately, it's a bit high in calories, so I really shouldn't indulge too much 😂 This time, I'm highly recommending Okinawa's first-ever Bean to Bar specialty chocolate shop! They strictly insist on using only carefully selected cocoa beans from around the world, blending them with local Okinawan brown sugar and coarse island sugar. The ingredients are pure and minimalist, with absolutely no unnecessary additives, bringing out the most natural and authentic cocoa aroma to the fullest! As soon as you walk into the store, the air is filled with a rich, roasted fragrance, and you can even watch the live production process right through the glass window. When you're tired from walking around, order a cup of aromatic cocoa, and pick up some high-quality souvenirs, whether you're treating yourself or gifting them to others, they are incredibly tasteful! 🎁 Besides cocoa beverages, the shop also offers a selection of coffee. They specifically use beans from Okinawa's famous Yamada Coffee, so the quality is absolutely unquestionable, and coffee enthusiasts will also be in for a treat! ☕ If you're a chocolate lover too, this shop is definitely worth a special pilgrimage! Whether you're just dropping by for a drink or shopping for souvenirs, I guarantee you'll leave fully satisfied and feel that the trip was well worth it! ❤️ Restaurant Name TIMELESS CHOCOLATE (タイムレスチョコレート) Restaurant Address 3-223 Miyagi, Chatan, Nakagami District, Okinawa Parking: None Google Rating: 4.6 / 5

An amazing location👍 and a highly recommended hotel for a fulfilling stay✨ I always visit American Village whenever I travel to Okinawa♪ It's like an amusement park without rides, an exciting spot where you can take perfectly Instagrammable photos anywhere😆 Even if you get tired from walking around, you can easily go back and rest since the hotel is right inside American Village♡ It's located right next to Depot Central, where the famous pink shark is, so it's super easy to find😆✨ (*Depot Central = the name of an area in American Village) This time, I stayed on the 6th floor of the main building. I could even see the ocean from my room♪ The room had a fresh, cute design, and it was spacious enough for a very comfortable stay. It features a large public bath with a natural hot spring—a rarity in Okinawa—perfect for soothing your tired body♨️ There’s a dry sauna in the men's bath and a mist sauna in the women's, which felt absolutely amazing♪ Another must-recommend is the rooftop pool and the cafe & bar🍸 There's an infinity pool and a jacuzzi, and the view is spectacular😆❤️ Plus, the cafe and bar blend seamlessly with the pool area, so you can truly soak in the resort vibes with a stylish drink in hand✨ For breakfast, you can fully experience Okinawa with a buffet that features plenty of delicious local dishes🌺 And the food is incredibly good😋 I was also thrilled to find coffee from American Village's wildly popular Zhyvago Coffee☕️ Recharge your energy first thing in the morning, and you're ready to hit the road for the rest of your trip🙌

Blue Seal is an absolute must-have for me whenever I visit Okinawa! This time, I stopped by the American Village location to grab a bite. Let me tell you all about it! 📍Blue Seal ✅ Okinawa's iconic ice cream brand ✅ Sea Salt and Blue Wave are the signature flavors I heard that Blue Seal is a brand that actually started in Okinawa back in 1984!! The sign is super colorful and really easy to spot from a distance. They have a ton of different flavors, but I highly recommend the Sea Salt flavor. That sweet and salty combo is just absolutely delicious! To order, you just use the kiosk!! Once you're done, just follow the staff's instructions. They also sell merch! T-shirts, tumblers, tote bags, and more!! Everything was so cute. The Blue Wave flavor tastes a lot like a refreshing soda ice pop, so if you're a fan of that classic soda flavor, you're going to love this one! And you know taking a photo right in front of the sign is an absolute must, right!? After wandering around the American Village, make sure to wrap up your day with some Blue Seal ice cream!

I visited a popular cafe in American Village. It's a cafe called Zhyvago. Let me tell you all about it!!! 📍 Zhyvago Cafe Address Japan 〒904-0115 Okinawa, Nakagami District, Chatan, Mihama, 9-46 Zhyvago Coffee Works Okinawa Distortion Seaside Building 1F Hours 07:00-20:00 This place gave off total American West Coast vibes while enjoying a cup of coffee. Honestly, sitting down for a coffee break during the sunset was so much better than during the day!! They’re known for their lattes, so I ordered one, and wow, why is it so good?!!! It was an incredibly smooth and creamy latte. The interior has a super hip aesthetic, but since it was raining, we sat out on the terrace to soak in the atmospheric vibes. I totally get why Zhyvago Cafe is so famous now. If you ever visit American Village and want some coffee, you absolutely must go to Zhyvago!

I want to share a recap of my trip to Okinawa. As soon as I arrived, I dropped off my luggage and headed straight to American Village! I was short on time and had to get there quickly, so I took a local bus. Let me tell you all about it! 📍American Village Address 15-69 Mihama, Chatan, Nakagami District, Okinawa 904-0115 This is my second time visiting Okinawa, and coming back after 8 years had me so hyped up again!!! It's gorgeous during the day, but I think it’s truly the most beautiful in the early evening during sunset. I hopped on a bus right in front of my hotel that goes directly to American Village, and the ride took about an hour. A lot of people take local bus #120 to get there, so definitely keep that in mind!!! American Village was built around a U.S. military base, so it totally gives off strong LA vibes. With so many great restaurants, cafes, and attractions, I highly recommend it as a super fun travel destination!!! If you ever travel to Okinawa, you really need to check this place out! The sunset views here are especially stunning, so make sure to time your visit to catch the sunset!!

Tropical USA Vibes in Japan! 🇯🇵🌴🛹 Discover American Village in Chatan, the go-to spot for that unexpected Hawaiian flair – think palm-lined boulevards, neon lights, and a seaside boardwalk! Once a former US military base, this area has transformed into a colorful entertainment haven blending Japanese hospitality with the laid-back West Coast cool. 🛍️ Recommended Route & Must-Dos: Start your stroll at the iconic Ferris wheel—perfect for orienting yourself and catching a panoramic sea view. Wander through Depot Island for quirky shops (souvenir hunt, anyone?), mural walls, and cute cafes serving everything from Okinawan tacos to super-sweet shave ice. Don’t miss stopping by the Sunset Beach side—a sandy stretch perfect for a lazy afternoon or snapping flamingo-pink twilight photos. 📸 Top ‘Insta-Worthy’ Angles: The Ferris wheel with the sparkling coastline at sunset is a must-capture! The pastel mural walls and colorful street art pop on your feed, while the ocean pier boardwalk delivers those classic ‘endless summer’ vibes. 💡 Practical Tips: American Village is open year-round, day and night, so come anytime—the LED signs are especially magical after sunset! Parking is free and easy. Chatan can get busy on weekends, but weekdays are super chill. Bring some yen (not all shops take cards, surprisingly). Grab a beach towel if you fancy a swim, and don’t miss the American-style diners—huge portions and local-foreign fusion menus. ⚠️ Key Precautions: Summer days get hot—pack sunscreen and a hat or an umbrella . The area’s super pedestrian-friendly, but keep an eye out for cyclists on the boardwalk. #Chatan #AmericanVillage #Okinawa #JapanTravel #SeasideVibes

DAY 1 Renting a car is practically a must in Okinawa!🚘 We used Times Rent-a-Car and booked in advance through Trip.com. After picking up the car, we headed straight to American Village!🇺🇸 · *Make sure to visit here at sunset!!**🌅 The atmosphere where the sea and the sunset blend together is truly beautiful, and it was the perfect spot for taking photos📸 And if you come to Okinawa, you absolutely must try Blue Seal ice cream🍦💙 Afterward, we moved on to the Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa! I highly recommend this place✨ Unlike typical Japanese hotels, the rooms were really spacious and comfortable, which was great. The room view was beautiful, and the breakfast had a wide variety of options, so our satisfaction was top-notch! It was a hotel I would definitely want to stay at again if I visit Okinawa next time 🏨🤍 DAY 2 If you come to Okinawa, you absolutely have to visit the Churaumi Aquarium! 🐠 The scale is truly massive, and the actual whale sharks are much more magnificent than in photos, so I found myself staring at them for a long time. In the evening, I went shopping at Don Quijote 🛍️ I cleared out everything, from souvenirs to snacks 😂 DAY 3 The sea in Okinawa needs no introduction… 💙 And you absolutely MUST visit Kouri Bridge!! The emerald sea I saw while driving was so beautiful that it was the best place of this trip. 🌉✨ In the evening, I went to the food stalls at Kokusai Market 🍺 The combination of cold beer, yakitori, and gyoza is truly the best 🤤 The atmosphere was great, so I really enjoyed the last night of my trip. DAY 4 Leaving the bittersweet feelings behind, heading back to Korea ✈️ I highly recommend Okinawa as a travel destination where you can enjoy driving, the sea, delicious food, and relaxation all in one! 💙 #JapanTravel #Okinawa #KouriBridge #AmericanVillage #OkinawaInternationalMarket · I recommend renting a car!!

2026.4.27 2-219 Miyagi, Chatan, Nakagami District, Okinawa Hours: 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM Reservations by phone are accepted. A hidden gem of a restaurant tucked away quietly along the seawall. They offer not only creative Izakaya dishes but also a wide variety of Okinawan cuisine, and it seemed quite popular among the locals as well. The staff are all very friendly, the interior is dimly lit with a great atmosphere, and the food is reasonably priced. There are also tables on the wooden deck in front of the restaurant, so you can enjoy your meal outside. Vongole: 1,380 yen Tuna Steak: 880 yen The vongole was loaded with clams and absolutely delicious!

Who says you have to drive to explore Okinawa? Let me tell you, you can absolutely enjoy a relaxing trip without renting a car. For this trip, we’ll be using the monorail (Yui Rail), local buses, and a one-day tour bus to fully experience the island's artistic vibes, history, and stunning nature. 📌 Tip: I highly recommend booking your accommodation in downtown Naha, specifically around Kencho-mae or Makishi stations, as it makes getting around super convenient. 🗓️ Day 1: Check-in & Explore the City Lights of Naha ✈️ Naha Airport ➡️ City Center: As soon as you land, hop on the Yui Rail monorail to head straight into the city. It’s incredibly convenient and takes less than 20 minutes! 🛍️ Kokusai Dori: Stroll down this 1.6 km shopping street. Pick up some cool souvenirs, taste local treats, and grab dinner at a restaurant featuring live Ryukyu-style (Sanshin) music for that perfect island vibe. 🎵 🗓️ Day 2: Step Back in Time & Visit a Cliffside Shrine (Via Monorail) 🎫 Must Have: Grab a Yui Rail 1-Day Pass. You can tap your way through the stations all day long with just one ticket. 🏰 Shuri Castle (Morning): Marvel at the grandeur of this vermilion castle, the former royal palace of the Ryukyu Kingdom, perched on a hill with spectacular views. 📸 ⛩️ Naminoue Shrine (Afternoon): This is the island’s most sacred and important shrine, standing proudly on a cliff overlooking the deep blue sea. Walk down to snap the iconic shot from the parallel bridge, or take a breezy stroll along the adjacent Naminoue Beach. 🌊 🗓️ Day 3: Head North for the Giant Aquarium (One-Day Bus Tour) 🐠 Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium: This is a top attraction in the north. Since there’s no train access, booking a one-day bus tour from Naha is the smartest and most cost-effective way to get there. 🐋 Highlight: Be mesmerized by the massive "Kuroshio Sea" tank, where real whale sharks swim alongside manta rays. Also, don’t miss the adorable dolphin show right by the ocean (it’s free!). 🐬 🗓️ Day 4: Last-Minute Shopping, American Vibes & a Mega Mall 🇺🇸 Mihama American Village: Take bus 20, 28, or 29 and get off at the Kuwae stop to soak up those California coastal town vibes. There are plenty of chic beachfront cafes and vintage photo spots! 🌅 🛍️ AEON MALL Okinawa Rycom: Okinawa’s largest shopping mall. Catch a direct bus here for some final tax-free retail therapy. There's even a huge aquarium inside! Afterward, catch a direct bus straight to the airport for your flight home. ✈️🎒 ✅ Transportation Summary for This Trip Within Naha City: Yui Rail (Monorail) Mid-range trips outside the city: Local buses Long-distance trips to the north: A one-day bus tour is the most convenient and hassle-free option.
