Chico travel guide and discussion

We joined Yepalo for a five-day hiking and river trekking trip in the Sierra de Guara in the Pyrenees and had an incredible experience. The group was small, friendly, and so much fun. Moshe was an outstanding guide, going above and beyond to ensure everyone was happy, comfortable, and enjoying themselves. When my friend and I opted out of canyoning, he thoughtfully arranged a different adventure for us that made us feel truly cared for. Stunning scenery, a wonderful group, and a guide dedicated to providing the best experience—can't wait for my next trip with Moshe. Highly recommended!

My trip to Sierra de Guara has been a truly wonderful and unforgettable experience. Every single minute was worth it! I enjoyed hiking trails, canyoning, and climbing in a spectacular natural setting. The breathtaking landscapes added a special touch to each activity, making them even more remarkable. The guides were fantastic—extremely professional, friendly, attentive, and always exuding confidence and enthusiasm. Thanks to them, every adventure was safe and enjoyable. I also want to highlight the organizer, a true adventurer who brings passion and dedication to every detail. The effort and care in organizing everything are evident, enhancing the experience even further. I return home with amazing memories, new experiences, and the happiness of having lived this adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend this trip to anyone who loves nature, sports, and authentic experiences. It’s been an extraordinary journey I’ll cherish forever!

I just returned from a 5-day trip to Sierra de Guara, and the experience was fantastic. From the very start, Moshe made everything so easy: clear organization, a great atmosphere, and a warm, attentive approach that lets you enjoy without worrying about a thing. The excursions and activities were well-planned, tailored to the group, and gave us plenty of time to truly take in each location. I was fortunate to share the experience with wonderful people, which made the trip even more special. The landscapes are breathtaking, with canyons, crystal-clear rivers, and stunning serene spots full of natural beauty. Being able to enjoy nature this way, guided by someone who knows the area so well, really makes a difference. Without a doubt, it's an experience I highly recommend for anyone seeking adventure, nature, and good company. I'll definitely be back!

We joined Yepalo for a hiking trip around Huesca in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The scenery was breathtaking—picturesque blue skies and plenty of snow-capped peaks in the distance! The group was fantastic, a friendly and fun mix of people ranging in age from their late 20s to 60s. Moshe, who leads Yepalo, is an exceptional guide. He genuinely cares about everyone, sharing extensive knowledge of the area while prioritizing safety and ensuring everyone had a great time! The hiking was amazing, and the group made it even better. I’ll absolutely join another trip in the future! Thanks again, Moshe! :)

My friend suggested Yepalo since he's gone on many hikes with them, and it truly lived up to the hype! The atmosphere was fantastic! The guides were very knowledgeable and quick to track which trails had favorable weather for us to enjoy. They also recommended some excellent dining spots (super important, lol) near where we stayed. I’ll surely be joining more trips with Yepalo in the future 😊

Garachico is a treasure town on the northern coast of Tenerife Island, where unique volcanic landscapes intertwine with rich history, making it an excellent choice to escape the hustle and bustle of the crowds. The must-experience highlight is the El Caletón natural rock pools, formed in 1706 when volcanic lava cooled upon entering the sea. Surrounded by dark rock walls and crystal-clear seawater, the pools are open all year round and free to enter. You can swim peacefully in the calm waters while enjoying stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Stroll through the old town, where cobblestone streets are dotted with flowers. Under the ancient trees of Freedom Square lie 16th-17th century monasteries and estates. The Castle of San Miguel, a survivor of volcanic eruptions, quietly guards the town’s past. For food, we recommend the family-run seafood restaurant by the square, where fresh grilled octopus and seafood platters paired with local wine offer great value. If you happen to visit on August 16th, you might catch the San Roque Pilgrimage Festival and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Canary Islands’ native culture. The town is far from popular tourist spots, with a tranquil and elegant ambiance. It is recommended to reserve half a day for a leisurely exploration, allowing you to immerse yourself in the resilient beauty of volcanic rebirth and enjoy an authentic island slow life.

🌳 Discovering Chico’s Laidback Charms — Nature, History, and Local Flavor! 🚴♂️ Head straight for Bidwell Park, where city buzz fades into leafy paths and sun-dappled creeks. Hit the Lower Park trails early to catch the morning light filtering through old oaks (prime insta-worthy spot: Sycamore Pool’s mirror-like water at sunrise!). Don’t miss the Annie Bidwell statue—perfect for a heritage snapshot. For a chilled afternoon, rent a cruiser at a local shop and roll the scenic loop past Caper Acres playground and Five Mile picnic spot. Next, swing by Chico’s downtown: sip artisan coffee at a porch-side cafe, then stroll Broadway for street murals and vintage boutiques. Museum buffs should pop into the Chico History Museum (open Wed-Sat, 11am-4pm)—the 19th-century architecture makes a killer backdrop. Tips: Pack water and sunscreen; shade can be scarce on the upper trails. Weekends get lively, especially at the farmer’s market (Sat, 7:30am-1pm), so parking fills up fast—arrive before 9am for stress-free exploring. If you’re staying at a local hotel, ask about complimentary bikes or walking maps—they’re little perks worth snagging. Watch for poison oak on unpaved trails! And while Chico’s famously friendly, keep an eye on personal belongings at crowded spots, especially downtown during events. #Chico #BidwellPark #WeekendGetaway #NatureTrail #LocalExperience
