Kruger is absolutely massive, though, so you definitely want to spend enough time there to see as much as possible. 🐧 Penguin Beach (Boulders Beach): Okay, these guys were my absolute favorites! The little penguins were just waddling around on the sand. I kept wondering if they would get along with my pet at home if I just sneaked one into my pocket... omg they were so cute! 😍 ⛰️ Cape Town & Table Mountain: We took this rotating cable car all the way up the mountain, and the views of the ocean and the city were insane. We also checked out the Bo-Kaap neighborhood with all those gorgeous candy-colored houses. It was so adorable and straight out of a fairy tale! 🍷 Wineries and Sun City: I also have to say, the local wines were super good (and cheap!). And we took a quick trip to this Sun City resort near Johannesburg, which had an artificial beach and all kinds of luxury stuff—I even ate ostrich meat there! Pretty wild. Oh, and a quick practical tip! The electronic ETA visa was super easy to apply for online before the trip, it literally took me less than 24 hours to get it. Just keep in mind that your passport needs to be valid for a really long time (over 19 months, which is a bit weird, but yeah)! But yeah, it was the perfect mini-vacay! The second I got back home to Tampere, I dropped my bags in the hallway and squeezed my little furball half to death. Are there any other pet parents out there who get ridiculously homesick for their pets as soon as they travel? 😂

During a rainy day in Cape Town, we decided to visit Groot Constantia. While it is very touristy, it was nice to see one of the oldest vineyards in Cape Town. Dating all the way back to the 1680s, the wine played a pivotal role in the economic success of Cape Town and help put the city on the map for wine production. We did the chocolate and wine pairing which was very delicious. There are several nice restaurants on site for a lunch. Be aware that this is the only winery that is on the CT hope on hope off bus, as the other two wineries are either privately owned or closed for repairs.
