2026 Cullera Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in July)

A fantastic way to learn more about the history and culture of the Basque region! The exhibition spans four floors, showcasing a variety of items including centuries-old city stone emblems, miniature smithy workshops, exquisite porcelain, and historical costumes. For those who appreciate miniature models, this museum offers plenty to admire. In addition to models of traditional villages and significant buildings, you can also stroll through the impressive model of Biscay Island. Mallona Causeways, built in 1745, are located on a small plateau in front of Mount Artagan. They start from Miguel de Unamuno Square, which serves as the gateway to Begoña and the starting point of Zamudio Road. The route first leads to the old Mallona Cemetery, the town's first cemetery, established after the French banned burials in churches in 1808. This cemetery was inaugurated in 1830. In response to the ban, the city council purchased the small village of Mallona (hence the name) and all its properties to construct the aforementioned cemetery. The only remaining structure is its main gate, a neoclassical arch designed by Juan de Belaunzaran, featuring Doric columns on both sides and inscriptions referencing the site. Mallona Cemetery was closed in 1927, and burials were subsequently moved to the new cemetery in Derio.

A Mediterranean Coast Trip to Spain ~ Valencia (Region) The view from the top is stunning, offering panoramic vistas over the town of Curella and the bay. Unfortunately, it was closed when we arrived, but we could still stroll through the courtyard, which was a lovely walk if desired, and there were also some hiking trails. A beautiful venue with stunning views, worth exploring from different perspectives.
