Devin travel guide and discussion

Did I actually find a Games of Throne filming location in Slovakia? I wish,BUT ACTUALLY this castle is not one of the filming location eventho it looks like it could be part of Westeros so much with the medieval looking castle ruins, isn’t it? 📍Devin Castle, Bratislava This beautiful castle located at the border of Slovakia and Austria and you can see Danube river and Morava river intersection that separate the two countries. It is built on top of a crag and its remain a ruin till this days as it is one of the oldest castle in Slovakia. You have to visit the panoramic view from the Maiden Castle overlooking the beautiful rivers, truly breathtaking. I was able to see it far from distance during my visit and it was my highlight! The entry ticket to this castle is 6€ because we come during a public holiday in Europe but normal price ticket is 8€. I think it used to be priced lower back in the early days. We took a Bolt taxi from Bratislava Castle to here Hrad and we paid 7.80€ divided by the three of us. Bolt here is super affordable, I do suggest taking Bolt in Slovakia compared to taking bus if you prefer convenience! So do you think this is a hidden gem in Slovakia? Let me know in the comment 🤍 - #travelanywhere #aysabellediary #devincastle #slovakia #aysabelleinslovakia #hiddengem #westeros #gamesofthronefilminglocation #gamesofthrone

The best time to visit Bratislava is in the winter, when the festive vibes are at their peak and the Christmas spirit is in the air! Visit the Christmas markets at the town square and try Rösti and mulled wine along with locals and regional visitors. Wonder at the stunning architecture of the Old Town and see Michael’s Gate before climbing your way up to Bratislava castle to learn about its history. Then, take a bus to Pajstun castle in the afternoon for a romantic winter walk where you can view picturesque castle ruins in the snow. If you have time, you can also head out to Devin castle to see a medieval castle and learn about how Jews used to escape to Slovakia from Austria during World War II. You can even see the exact spot along the river where thousands would desperately try to cross the border into Slovakia #history #couplestrip #thingstodo #museums

On one of the sunnier days of the early spring weather, we ventured out to Devins Castle and spent the whole morning exploring and walking around. It was super easy to find, looks super far with lots of walking but was surprisingly do-able. I would recommend taking some light snacks with you to enjoy while you’re there. There are so many benches and areas to sit that you can genuinely spend the whole day there. 📍Address: Devins Castle, Bratislava

I visited Devin Castle in Bratislava, Slovakia. It's about a 30-minute bus ride from the city center. Make sure to buy your ticket from the vending machine. If you are caught without a ticket, you will be fined 50 euros. Devin Castle is located on a hill and can be climbed in about 30 minutes. From the top, you can see the river that forms the border with Austria. The entrance fee is 8 euros during the high season in summer and 6 euros during the low season in winter. Opening hours are from 10:00 to 16:00. 📍Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XponNTPzwJhbsFmw6

Brilliant #travel experience at #devincastle in #slovakia, just a short bus journey outside of #bratislava, great as a trip for a few hours for #solotravel or for #couplestrip. Overall well worth visiting whether you’re in Bratislava, or even in #vienna #austria. Do bring cash if you want to buy things from the businesses just outside the castle. #europe 🕰️Business Hours: 10am-4pm

#coupletravel My partner and I had an amazing couple’s trip to Bratislava, Slovakia! The city is the perfect mix of charm and history, and it’s super walkable, which made exploring so easy. We started at Bratislava Castle (entrance fee around €10), where the views of the city and the Danube River were incredible. Strolling through the old town, we discovered beautiful architecture, cute cafés, and plenty of spots for a romantic dinner. Nearby, we also visited the Blue Church and took a boat trip to Devin Castle. Bratislava is underrated but truly a gem! #trip #BratislavaCoupleTrip #SlovakWonders #CityViews #RomanticGetaway #HiddenGems

#EuropeanTravel #DevinCastle #Slovakia A castle located in the Devin area, about 30 minutes by bus from Bratislava.. DevinCastle is a medieval historic site located near Bratislava. It is located on a high hill, so it is a beautiful place where you can see the view of Bratislava in the distance. DevinCastle preserves historical traces of the Roman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. You can feel the atmosphere of the Middle Ages while walking along the castle walls, and there is a history museum and various exhibits inside the castle. Also, there are many places with beautiful natural scenery around DevinCastle, so it is a good place to enjoy nature. DevinCastle is an ideal place to spend a peaceful time in nature while being rich in history. It is also great to walk along the riverside..It has a different atmosphere from Bratislava.
