Personally, I found the flights a bit pricey, but the cost of living is so cheap that it makes the ticket totally worth it. The accommodations are great, and the food is delicious. We ate and lived like royalty on this trip 😂. I highly recommend doing a road trip since public transportation isn't very convenient. Parking is easy to find and almost completely free. If I remember correctly, the total gas cost was under 12,000 THB.
