Bring a jacket, even on a sunny day. Trust me. 2. Wear proper shoes for the cliff paths. 3. Check the weather before your visit because the views can change completely. 4. Try Dublin, Madrid, Oslo, Stockholm etc. Business fares can be MUCH cheaper, even after adding a cheap positioning flight. 2️⃣ Look for upgrades, not just Business fares Check whether you can buy Premium Economy/Economy and upgrade with points. Sometimes the total cost beats booking Business outright. 3️⃣ Search reward seats BEFORE paying cash If you collect Avios/Virgin Points, check Business reward availability first. A £3,000+ ticket can sometimes be replaced by points + taxes. 4️⃣ Search Business Class sales directly When airlines have a sale, don’t assume Economy is the bargain. Check Business fares with flexible dates — sometimes the price difference is surprisingly small. 5️⃣ Check negotiated/private fares 🤫 Some reputable travel agents have access to fares that don’t appear on the airline’s website. Dublin felt welcoming almost immediately. It’s compact enough to explore on foot, but every neighborhood seemed to have its own personality. 1. Wander through the historic center I started at Trinity College, where the Old Library and Book of Kells were obvious highlights. From there, I walked toward Dublin Castle and Christ Church Cathedral, stopping for coffee whenever I found a cozy café. 2. Experience the city’s pub culture I spent an evening around Temple Bar, but instead of staying on the busiest street, I wandered into smaller pubs nearby. Live music, friendly conversations, and a proper pint of Guinness made the night feel much more memorable than simply sightseeing. 3. Escape the city for some fresh air My favorite afternoon was at Phoenix Park. I walked for hours, spotted deer, and enjoyed how quiet it felt compared with the city center. Later, I visited the Guinness Storehouse, where the panoramic view from the Gravity Bar was a great way to finish the day. What I loved about Dublin was its balance. There’s plenty of history, but the city never feels like an open air museum. People, music, food, and conversation are just as much a part of the experience. I came for the sights. Spent the day exploring Dublin city centre on foot, and I loved how so many amazing spots are close to each other and easy to get to. From seeing the famous Molly Malone statue and exploring the National Gallery of Ireland to grabbing a bite at a Filipino bakery and café, there was always something new around the corner. ☘️💚 I also walked across the iconic Ha’penny Bridge, wandered through Trinity College Dublin, bought some souvenirs at George’s Street Arcade, and took a relaxing break at St Stephen’s Green. A perfect day of exploring, discovering, eating, and enjoying the charm of Dublin—all on foot! 🇮🇪✨

🇮🇪 Dublin in Early Summer ☘️✨ 12–15 June 2026 | A city full of history, canals, colour and unforgettable moments Dublin completely surprised me. Before arriving I expected a city famous for Guinness and Irish pubs, but what I found was so much more. Walking through the streets, discovering hidden alleys, peaceful canals, historic churches and colourful neighbourhoods made this one of my favourite European city breaks. If you’re planning 4 days in Dublin, this is exactly the itinerary I would recommend. ⸻ 📅 Day 1 – First impressions, the River Liffey & Pride atmosphere 🌉🌈 After arriving and checking into the hotel, I dropped my bags and immediately headed out to explore the city on foot. One of the best things about Dublin is how walkable it is. Within minutes you’re crossing beautiful bridges over the River Liffey, each offering a different perspective of the city. The evening light reflecting on the river makes it incredibly photogenic. During my visit the city was preparing for Pride Month, so Dublin felt even more vibrant than usual. Rainbow flags decorated many streets, buildings were illuminated with colourful lights and the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. I wandered through Temple Bar, where live music spills out from almost every pub, before simply getting lost in the surrounding streets. Sometimes those unplanned walks become the best memories. 🍽 Dinner recommendation One of the best areas for your first evening is Temple Bar. Even if you don’t stay long, it’s worth experiencing the lively atmosphere, traditional Irish music and beautiful old pubs. ⸻ 📅 Day 2 – Trinity College & The Book of Kells Experience 📚✨ This was probably the cultural highlight of the trip. I visited The Book of Kells Experience inside Trinity College, one of Ireland’s most famous attractions. The exhibition explains the fascinating history of the Book of Kells before leading you into the spectacular Long Room Library, one of the most beautiful libraries in the world. The ticket cost €26. 🎓 Tip: Students receive a discounted ticket, so always bring your student ID. It’s accepted and can save you money. ⚠️ Very important: Book your tickets online at least 2–3 days in advance. Time slots sell out quickly, especially during weekends and summer. Afterwards I spent hours exploring Trinity College and the surrounding streets filled with elegant Georgian architecture. ⸻ 📅 Day 3 – Canals, hidden streets & local discoveries 🚶🏻♂️🌿 This became my favourite day. Instead of following the tourist crowds, I explored Dublin’s quieter side. Walking along the Grand Canal almost felt like being back in London. Tree-lined paths, narrow bridges, colourful boats and peaceful water created a completely different atmosphere from the busy city centre. It was one of those places where you can simply slow down, take photos and enjoy the sunshine. Along the way I discovered hidden alleyways covered with messages and drawings left by visitors from around the world. One of the most memorable spots was a wall where visitors are actually encouraged to write their own messages using permanent markers provided there. Reading messages written years apart by people from every country made the place feel incredibly personal. It’s such a simple idea, yet one of the most unique experiences in Dublin. I also explored several historic churches, which are completely worth visiting inside. Their architecture, stained-glass windows and peaceful atmosphere provide a wonderful contrast to the lively streets outside. ⸻ 📅 Day 4 – Guinness Storehouse & one last walk 🍺🌅 No visit to Dublin feels complete without visiting the Guinness Storehouse. Even if you’re not a huge beer drinker, the experience is fascinating. The interactive exhibitions explain the history of Guinness, how it’s brewed and why it became such an important part of Irish culture. The highlight is finishing at the Gravity Bar, where panoramic views stretch across the whole city. Watching Dublin from above before taking one final walk through the streets was the perfect way to end the trip. ⸻ 🏨 Accommodation I stayed in a modern hotel within walking distance of the city centre, which made exploring incredibly easy without relying on public transport. One of the biggest advantages was being able to walk everywhere: ✔ River Liffey ✔ Trinity College ✔ Temple Bar ✔ Grand Canal ✔ Guinness Storehouse Being centrally located meant I could head back to the hotel for a short break before going out again in the evening. For Dublin, I would definitely recommend staying in the city centre rather than further out. It saves time and allows you to experience the city after dark, when it’s at its most atmospheric. ⸻ 🍽 Food Recommendations 🥩 Try a traditional Irish steakhouse for one evening. 🍺 Visit a classic Irish pub for live music and local food. 🥧 Try a proper Irish pie. 🥣 Don’t leave without trying seafood chowder. ☕ Spend time in one of Dublin’s independent cafés around Trinity College. ⸻ 📸 Photography Tips · Walk along the River Liffey around sunset. · Visit Temple Bar during the evening when the lights come on. · The Grand Canal is beautiful during golden hour. · Trinity College is much quieter early in the morning. · The colourful Pride decorations make fantastic night photography. · Don’t forget to explore the hidden alleys. Some of the best photos aren’t the famous landmarks. ⸻ 💡 Useful Tips ✅ Dublin is surprisingly walkable. ✅ Wear comfortable shoes because you’ll easily walk 20,000+ steps each day. ✅ Book The Book of Kells Experience online several days before your visit. ✅ Bring your student ID if you have one. ✅ Visit the Guinness Storehouse later in the afternoon for beautiful evening views. ✅ Explore beyond Temple Bar. Some of Dublin’s best streets are the quieter ones nearby. ⸻ Looking back, what made Dublin so memorable wasn’t just the famous attractions. It was the balance between lively streets, peaceful canals, centuries of history, welcoming locals and those unexpected little discoveries that you only find by walking without a plan. It’s a city that rewards curiosity, and I’d happily return just to wander its streets all over again. ☘️🇮🇪
