InterContinental Hotel on Tahiti Main Island!
This is a 5-star Intercontinental hotel on the main island of Tahiti, where the international airport is located. It is usually difficult to go to Bora Bora or Moorea right after arriving at the airport, so it is recommended to stay on the main island for about a night and then go. This hotel has many great things to see.

Lovely Resort, Great For Families!
We stayed for two nights at the beginning and end of our trip to Tahiti, Borabora and Raiatea. It was ideal for a late night arrival as only 5 minutes from airport which was great especially with two tired kids. Our room was huge and immaculate. Very luxurious and comfortable. The grounds are stunning with a beautiful view of Moorea to welcome you to Tahiti. Great pool which the kids loved. Awesome breakfast buffet - the restaurant is right over the coral reef and you could see tropical fish while having breakfast. By the end of our trip we were tired of hotel food but there is a supermarket directly over the road which is fantastic. We returned to the Hilton for two nights before we left Tahiti which allowed us to check out the markets which are close by and relax a bit more. We splashed out and had a suite with two rooms and a kitchen which was expensive but worth it. We were a bit tired of hotel food by the end of our trip but there is a supermarket over the road which is fantastic and it was a lot lot cheaper than eating in the restaurant. If you are heading to one of the resorts it would be handy to stock up on some snacks as resort eating is delicious but very expensive. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. We would stay here again in a heart beat! #tahiti #borabora #boraholiday #raiatea #heavensgate

Simply One of the Best Experiences of a Lifetime
Simply one of the best experiences of a lifetime. Outstanding service, with a level of care and attention to customers that goes beyond the ordinary. And then there's that feeling of constantly being pampered with countless thoughtful gestures. A heartfelt thanks to all the staff, especially Veiura and Lucien, whose attentiveness made this stay even more special. Thank you, māuruuru.

A Magical Honeymoon Gesture at InterContinental Tahiti Resort
What an extraordinary and unforgettable surprise from the amazing team at the InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa during our honeymoon! We were thrilled to find that the hotel had thoughtfully arranged a romantic table surrounded by fresh Polynesian flowers, set under a charming wooden gazebo by the pool. It was magical — intimate, elegant, and full of Tahiti’s beauty and spirit.
We savored an excellent dinner in this breathtaking setting. While the food was absolutely delicious, what truly made the evening unforgettable was the exceptional service and genuine warmth of the staff. Special thanks to Lucien and Veiura, who were incredible. Their kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism made us feel not just welcomed, but unique and special.
They went above and beyond, paying attention to every detail to create a moment that was truly memorable. This was not just a dinner but a beautiful honeymoon memory we will treasure forever.
To the entire team at the InterContinental Tahiti, thank you from the depths of our hearts for such a thoughtful and delightful gesture. We couldn’t have wished for anything more. Mauruuru roa! With all our gratitude and love, Antonella & Gianluca ❤️

Great Stay with Minor Glitches
We had a pleasant stay at the Hilton Hotel Tahiti. It offered everything you’d typically expect from a Hilton. The food at both main restaurants was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view. The pool area was also very enjoyable. We especially appreciated the 7:00 pm late checkout, which was incredibly accommodating for our late flight home. However, there were a few service issues, such as my husband being scolded for ordering poolside drinks from the wrong spot, despite having ordered there before. Additionally, there was a cockroach in our bathroom.

An Unforgettable Stay at InterContinental Tahiti
We had the pleasure of staying at the InterContinental Tahiti this August 2026 and spent a truly delightful time at this establishment. The hotel is impeccably clean and well-maintained, with stunning outdoor spaces. The freshwater pools are very enjoyable, but our favorite was the natural pool connected to the sea 🌊🐠. It’s an amazing spot to observe numerous fish and soak in the lagoon's beauty.
The seaside restaurant is another highlight. The view is simply breathtaking! It’s the perfect place to enjoy a drink with your partner, watch the sunset, and have a lovely evening in an exceptional setting ❤️🍹🌅. Breakfast is very complete, offering a wide variety to start the day right. The staff deserves a mention too: friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist.
We also loved walking through the gorgeous hotel gardens, which are beautifully maintained and a joy to explore. A special note for the turtles 🐢 on the property! The hotel even has a dedicated space for injured turtles, where they are cared for—a truly touching initiative ❤️.
The InterContinental Tahiti provides all the comfort needed for a relaxing getaway in a stunning setting, surrounded by tropical gardens and a pristine lagoon. It’s an amazing place to fully enjoy Tahiti, and we highly recommend it without hesitation! 🌺🏝️❤️

Convenient Stay Near Airport and Ideal for Exploring Tahiti
A great option due to its proximity to the airport and suitability for a short visit to Tahiti, as we experienced ourselves. The room was clean, fairly spacious, and offered a lovely view of the sea and coconut palms. For breakfast, we opted to buy delicious coconut and chocolate muffins directly at the bar. There are several seating areas on the terrace overlooking the pool and sea. The nearby Carrefour is accessible directly from the hotel lobby, which is very convenient. For lunch, we recommend the poolside restaurant/bar, offering various interesting and reasonably priced dishes. One evening, we enjoyed a Polynesian dance performance, which was impressive. Overall, we had an excellent stay at the Hilton—a wonderful start to our vacation in beautiful French Polynesia. Mauruuru.

Best Sushi Experience Ever
Unreal! Wow, just wow! This is hands down the best sushi I've ever had. I tried the 11-piece sampler, and every single piece was twice the size of a typical sushi piece or roll. Not to mention, they were buttery and absolutely delicious.

A Perfect Stay in Paradise
Fantastic resort with beautiful landscaping. The staff were excellent, friendly, attentive, and courteous. The concierge service was incredibly helpful. Food and entertainment were outstanding. Room accommodations and housekeeping were impeccable. An absolutely perfect 8-night stay in paradise.

Exceptional Last Stay in French Polynesia
We ended our French Polynesian trip at the Intercontinental Tahiti due to its convenient 5-minute drive to the airport and transit rooms for freshening up before our nighttime flight. However, we didn’t expect such a stunning resort and warm hospitality! The lobby view was breathtaking, and the seamless transition from the infinity pool to the lagoon, coupled with their turtle conservation efforts, was memorable.
The staff was outstanding—helpful and attentive. As Diamond Ambassador members, we felt genuinely welcomed. Watching the sunset over Moorea from our top-floor balcony with welcome champagne was a perfect touch. What we appreciated the most was the extended late checkout, allowing us to pack and shower leisurely after a full-day excursion. A special thanks to the reception staff member who sought manager approval for this; his effort made all the difference!
We also enjoyed delicious tapas at the Huriama lounge, where a kind server recommended the octopus—it turned out to be one of the tastiest dishes of our trip. While we didn’t have time to join the cultural experiences, I was glad to see they were offered three times a day, unlike other hotels with fewer sessions. Lastly, free parking for all guests was another thoughtful perk.

Exceptional Stay with Unique Features
Loved this hotel. Arrived early at 4:30 AM, and was kindly offered a changing room for a shower and freshening up. We stored our luggage and managed to get some rest on the pool loungers. Our room was ready promptly by 10:30. We spent the day enjoying the lagoon, exploring the turtle conservatory, and relaxing by the pool. The room was lovely, tastefully decorated, featuring a delightful rain head shower and a charming balcony. Breakfast was incredible—be sure to include it in your rate. On our last day, we relaxed at the beachside pool, which had a fun sand-bottom design. My only issue is the lack of direct ocean access unless staying in an overwater bungalow. However, there’s a reef near the resort worth exploring.

Fantastic Location, Great Rooms, Attentive Service, and Plenty of Activities
Amazing location, good rooms, attentive service, and lots of activities for guests. I had a fun padel match with some locals and truly enjoyed the (free) experience. The meals and service were excellent, especially from the concierge. An unexpected gem. P.S. The sunset is breathtaking.

Convenient Airport Motel
Above all, the location is close to Tahiti Airport, offering a view of the airport from the room. Receptionist Yolande demonstrates a professional attitude, efficiency, and is particularly good at finding solutions, all delivered with a great smile. Though the motel is near the airport, the taxi fare is USD 20 one way, which isn't cheap. There’s no free bottled water, and the Wi-Fi speed is somewhat slow. Amenities include a coffee pot, a combined shampoo and body wash (no separate hair conditioner), and bottled water costs USD 4-5 each. The room is rather spacious with a good shower. Breakfast, priced at USD 12, is simple with coffee, apricot juice, cereal, toast, and one type of large bread but lacks eggs, sausage, salad, or fruits. A special touch is the room number engraved on shell-textured materials.

Wonderful Stay with Outstanding Hosts
We had a fantastic stay with Nina and her partner at their charming and cozy B&B. Our arrival was smooth, and communication with the hosts was excellent. The area is peaceful yet presents a challenge to explore, but the rental car included with the booking made navigating Tahiti's stunning natural beauty much easier. We wrapped up our stay with a quick and convenient taxi service to the airport arranged by the hosts. Highly recommend this place for couples or small families visiting Tahiti!

Exceptional Hilton Dining Experience Over the Ocean
As a Hilton Diamond Member who has visited countless Hilton restaurants, I can confidently say this was the best one yet. The seafood dinner was absolutely amazing, matched by equally impressive service. The outdoor seating, overlooking the ocean, offered a stunning view filled with large sea turtles, a variety of fish, crabs, and even an octopus.

Wonderful Hotel, but Breakfast Service Could Improve
We stayed for one night due to the Air Tahiti pilots' strike, and this hotel is absolutely stunning. It helped ease our frustration after our flight to Fakarava was canceled. The room was very beautiful, the pool was splendid, and the dinner was excellent. However, the only downside was the breakfast service at the bar in the morning. People who arrived after us were served first, and when I reminded them of our presence, they brought the wrong order. It took over an hour to get 2 coffees, 2 egg muffins, and 2 fruit salads!

Perfect Stay for a Special Birthday Celebration
Once again, we chose the InterContinental Tahiti to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and our stay was absolutely flawless. The entire establishment and staff made this moment magical.
The Room: Spotless and impeccably clean, as always.
The Cake in Room: A heartfelt thanks for the delicious cake left in our room—such a thoughtful gesture that truly touched us!
Room Service: Impeccable, responsive, and highly professional service.
The Tiki Bar: Kudos to the team for always nailing our favorite cocktail, the Passion des Îles.
Te Tiare Restaurant: Our nightly go-to, where the quality and warm welcome never waver. Special Mention: We want to express our deep gratitude to Lucien from Te Tiare. His thoughtful gestures during the birthday dinner warmed our hearts. My daughter was overjoyed and deeply touched. The team truly went above and beyond.
A big thank you to all the staff for your attentiveness and kindness. See you next year! 😊

Beautiful Resort with Great Activities but Mediocre Food
My husband and I stayed here, and overall this hotel did not disappoint. We had a lot of fun! There was plenty of entertainment included, which was a great bonus since most activities weren’t an extra charge. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and we loved seeing all the natural wildlife throughout the property. It really added to the experience. The only downside was the food. The buffets were quite expensive, and unfortunately the quality didn’t match the price. We also experienced some construction during our stay, which was a bit disruptive at times. Even with those drawbacks, we still enjoyed our visit and appreciated the beautiful setting and all the activities the resort had to offer.

Beautiful Resort Convenient to Tahiti Airport
Great hotel not far from the airport in Tahiti. A large property with stunning grounds, plenty of rooms, and overwater bungalows. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Prices were quite reasonable for Tahiti. We stayed just one night since we were en route to the airport from Bora Bora—but it was so lovely that we wished we had stayed longer! It’s truly a resort!

Perfect Last Evening in Tahiti
Spent our final night on the island of Tahiti at the Hilton, a hotel perfectly located between the cruise dock and the airport. We were fortunate to enjoy dinner at the Italian restaurant in the hotel, where the cuisine was excellent, and the staff was incredibly attentive and kind. We were pleasantly surprised with a personalized dessert from the service and kitchen to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary! Additionally, the waterfront setting with its giant aquarium illuminated by evening lights is a must-experience!

Underwhelming Stay at Hilton Tahiti
We stayed at the Hilton Tahiti for one night after leaving Bora Bora, and the experience felt very underwhelming in comparison. I’d rate it 3.5 stars overall, rounded up to 4. While it’s not a five-star experience, it’s a reasonable four-star property. We paid around $1,400 for two rooms for one night, which didn’t feel like a $700-per-room experience. The pool area was pleasant, although the drinks cost about $25 each. Unfortunately, there’s no actual beach—just a rocky shoreline—which was disappointing.
Our rooms were comfortable and generally nice, with decent ocean views, but nothing spectacular. The balconies appeared dated and could benefit from renovation. Additionally, we were quoted a $236 fee per room for a late checkout past 11:00 a.m. I understand late checkouts aren’t always complimentary, though I’ve been spoiled by the complimentary 4:00 p.m. checkouts at many Marriott properties.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant the night before also suffered from terrible service, which I’ve detailed in a separate review. Overall, Hilton Tahiti was acceptable for a short stopover, but felt heavily overpriced for what it offered.

Stunning Resort with Great Amenities and Friendly Staff
Beautiful resort with incredible staff. The lagoon is filled with fish and coral, plus turtles. There’s a nice selection of restaurants offering great food, though the service was inconsistent on some nights. Multiple pools to enjoy, including a swim-up bar.

Comfortable Stay with Great Performances but Room for Improvement
We arrived in Papeete in the evening from the US and stayed here our first night before heading to Bora Bora the next day. That night, we had a Garden View room in what seemed to be a newer section of the resort, which was very comfortable—a perfect spot to rest after our travels. The next morning, we enjoyed Sunday brunch featuring a dance performance, which far exceeded the Kona Hawaii luau experience we attended a few years ago. The performers were fantastic, with about 40 minutes of dancing, multiple costume changes, and a photo opportunity at the end.
After Bora Bora, we booked a two-night stay since our departing flight wasn’t until after 9 PM, and we didn’t want to sit in the lobby for hours, which would’ve been the case even with a day pass. This time, the room felt like it was in an older or less updated part of the resort. The bed was extremely firm, and we couldn’t lower the temperature below 20°C or reduce the humidity. We were “upgraded” to a Moorea View room, but the view was only visible if you looked 90 degrees to the side from the balcony. Overall, it didn’t feel like the upgrade improved our stay.
At check-in, we were given two free drink vouchers for being IHG members, which was a nice touch. The check-in and check-out staff were outstanding—welcoming and helpful. The grounds were beautiful, and the on-site restaurants offered food that was above average for hotel dining. While it’s unlikely we’ll return to this area of the world, I’d definitely stay here again if we ever did.
