One of the famous pit stop if you are travelling from East (Kelantan/Terengganu) to North of Malaysia region (Perak/Kedah/Perlis). It is situated at the highest peak of Titiwangsa mount about 60 km from Jeli. There is a restaurant, surau and toilet for passer by to use and get rest before continue their journey. The unique and special about this about this place is its mount scenery and cold temperature range about 16-25 degree celcius during morning. Located in Bersia, Gerik, Perak, Mount Bubu stands at 619 metres and is one of the most beautiful mountains I’ve explored in Perak. And there’s something special about starting this hike while the rest of the world is still asleep. 🌌 Start before sunrise The best time to begin the climb is around 2AM, allowing you to reach the summit before dawn. If the conditions are right, you might be lucky enough to witness a spectacular carpet of clouds with the sunrise emerging behind Bersia Dam. A little rain the night before can sometimes create better conditions for a carpet-cloud view, although nature never guarantees the perfect sunrise. 🌿 A mountain with a wild side The foothills of Mount Bubu are surrounded by electric fencing designed to prevent wild elephants from leaving the area, as the mountain is part of an elephant roaming zone. It’s a reminder that you’re hiking through a landscape that is very much part of the wildlife’s territory. The trail also leads through a beautiful mossy forest section just below the summit. The area has been marked with red tape to prevent hikers from stepping on the moss, although visitors can still enter designated areas to appreciate and photograph the scenery. ⛰️ The summit view At the summit, you’ll find the remains of an old triangulation station, with only its metal support structure remaining today. But the real photo spot is the summit signboard. Behind it, you get an incredible backdrop featuring Mount Kerunai and Mount Kenderong — famously known as K2 — creating one of the most recognisable views from Mount Bubu. 📍 Good to know Mount Bubu is located within a forest reserve, so a permit is required, and hikers must be accompanied by a mountain guide. The cheapest hiking package typically starts from around RM85, although prices may vary depending on the operator and inclusions. The mountain is also popular among hikers and has a limited quota, so booking early is highly recommended. 🥾 Tips before you go · Start around 2AM for a better chance of catching the carpet clouds and sunrise. · If possible, go after rain the previous night for potentially better cloud conditions. · Wear proper hiking shoes, especially for uneven and potentially slippery sections. · Bring a jacket. Temperatures at the summit can get surprisingly cold. Sometimes, the best mountain views begin long before sunrise 🌄🌿 #hiking #adventure #gerik

📖 WHAT IS THE MALAYAN TIGER? The Malayan Tiger (Panthera tigris jacksoni) is a UNIQUE SUBSPECIES FOUND ONLY IN PENINSULAR MALAYSIA — and nowhere else on Earth! 📜 ORIGIN & HISTORY For decades, scientists believed our tigers were the same as the Indochinese tiger. However, in 2004, detailed genetic research proved something extraordinary: our tigers are genetically distinct — a subspecies all their own! Thus, the Malayan Tiger was officially recognized and named in honour of tiger conservationist Peter Jackson. Smaller and more graceful than other tiger subspecies, yet powerful and regal — they have reigned over Malaysia's ancient rainforests for thousands of years, silently guarding the jungles of Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Perak, and Johor. They are not merely animals — they are Malaysia's national pride, our royal emblem, and the true King of our Forests. ⚠️ CRITICALLY ENDANGERED — FEWER THAN 150 REMAINING! IUCN Status: CRITICALLY ENDANGERED 🔴 In the 1950s–1960s: Over 3,000 tigers roamed freely across our land Today: LESS THAN 150 INDIVIDUALS remain in the wild At this pace — the Malayan Tiger could be GONE IN LESS THAN 10 YEARS if we do not act NOW. Threatened by: habitat loss • illegal poaching • diminishing prey • human-wildlife conflict 📍 WHERE TO VISIT, LEARN & SUPPORT 🐯 1. Located right in front of Markas Taktikal 749 near Banding Lake, Dataran Juang is a place almost everyone will notice when travelling along the East–West Highway (Jalan Raya Timur-Barat). At first glance, it may look like just another roadside stop. But once you start reading the stories here, the atmosphere feels completely different. 🇲🇾 Dataran Juang was built as a historical memorial to honour the sacrifices of Malaysia’s Security Forces during the Emergency period, especially the 116 soldiers who lost their lives fighting against communist insurgents. One of the main highlights here is the armored vehicle monument standing proudly in the middle of the memorial area. Beneath it are four plaques, each telling a different story of soldiers who fought to defend the country. Reading those stories honestly gives a deeper appreciation of what the security forces had to endure back then. Not just battles in the jungle, but also the constant uncertainty and danger surrounding them. What many people don’t realize is that even during the construction of the East–West Highway itself, workers and security forces faced countless obstacles, including communist ambush attacks deep inside the forest. That’s what makes this place feel meaningful. It’s not just a stop beside the highway, it’s a reminder of the sacrifices made so people today can travel safely through one of the most scenic roads in Malaysia 🌿 #gerik #perak #historical

All I can say is that this place is heaven on earth. Being a novice camper, the site offers much needed space for one to be one with nature...A combination of friendly staffs, amazing scenery and also merciful weather, this was indeed a memorable visit. The place is always clean, the service, splendid and all the questions been answered on time and reliable. Just maybe one thing to add, maybe the team can create from Gopeng Toll straight to the camp. That would be much more useful and can also be forwarded in whatsapp and other social media. But overall, we are satisfied with the amenities. Clean and well-managed. #thingstodo #camping #familycamping

Campsite next to a clear water river. Two toilet for gents and two for ladies. Shower only available outside the toilet (not covered)... Safe at night. Less mosquito and flies.stay here before the Gunung Alai hike. Overall still a good campsite. #wheretogo #awesomepic

Nice view along the way. It located at Gerik, Perak. The highway from Kelantan to Perak. After Banjaran Titiwangsa and if you lucky you can meet an elephant up there.

#wecreate Amaza R&R Titiwangsa, situated at the peak of Titiwangsa, is a sanctuary for nature lovers. Its charm is accentuated during rainy days, as it gets blanketed in a shroud of mystic fog, amplifying the beauty of this place to surreal levels. A unique feature of this location is its breathtakingly beautiful view, especially during rainy days. As you ascend, the mist slowly engulfs the surroundings, creating a dreamy landscape. The beauty of the fog-drenched peaks is indescribable - it is like living inside a serene painting. It's not just the picturesque beauty, but the peace and quiet that surrounds the peak which truly invigorates the soul. It offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. However, do take note that the foggy conditions can make the journey a bit challenging, especially for inexperienced drivers. It's always best to be cautious and safe. In conclusion, Amaza R&R Titiwangsa is an experience of nature at its best - raw, mysterious, and enchanting. It's definitely a must-visit for those seeking tranquility amidst natural beauty.
