Adelaide 5 Days Trip on June
📅 Adelaide Trip Itinerary (POM → ADL)
Day 1 – Travel Day (POM → Sydney → Adelaide)
My journey began with an international flight from Port Moresby (POM) to Sydney (SYD) at 1:10 PM with Air Niugini, arriving at 5:05 PM.
Lunch was served on the flight, and I had dinner at Sydney Airport while waiting for my connecting flight. Later, I boarded a Virgin Australia domestic flight from Sydney to Adelaide at 7:20 PM, arriving at 9:00 PM.
Meals were not included on the domestic flight, but there were many interesting food options available for purchase from the onboard menu.
The weather was sunny in Port Moresby, while Adelaide welcomed me with rain.

Day 2 – Museums and City Exploration
I woke up at 8:00 AM and checked the weather forecast. It was raining throughout the day.
After breakfast with my lovely boyfriend, I visited the South Australian Museum. It was a wonderful experience with many unique exhibits and fascinating collections.
Next, I walked to the nearby Art Gallery of South Australia, followed by the Migration Museum, which was also within walking distance.
Later, I visited the State Library of South Australia, a place highly recommended by many people. The building was spacious and impressive, with a huge collection of books. It was also a great place for photography, although visitors should remember to keep quiet inside.
The best part was that entry to all the attractions visited today was completely free.
For dinner, I enjoyed a home-cooked meal at a friend’s house.

Day 3 – Victor Harbor Adventure
Today was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for outdoor activities.
After breakfast, I travelled to Victor Harbor. I had already booked the famous Cockle Train experience. Before boarding, I explored the small morning market and purchased some handmade crafts.
The train journey from Goolwa to Victor Harbor was very scenic. Upon arrival, visitors also have the option to ride the famous horse-drawn tram for an additional fee.
The coastal views were stunning, and the strong sea breeze made the experience even more memorable.

Day 4 – Monarto Safari Park (Trip Highlight)
This was the main attraction of my trip.
Although there was light rain in the morning, we left at 7:30 AM and had breakfast on the way to Monarto Safari Park.
Fortunately, we arrived around 10:00 AM when the rain had stopped. The weather was extremely cold, but that did not stop the excitement.
I upgraded my existing Lion 360 experience by adding the lion feeding encounter. Meeting the lions up close was absolutely incredible and is an experience I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the park.
Afterwards, we continued exploring the park using the hop-on hop-off bus service. I was thrilled to see the rhinos, one of the animals I had been most excited about. I also saw cheetahs and finally learned how to distinguish them from leopards. They were incredibly cute.
Light rain returned around 4:00 PM.
On the way back, I enjoyed some sushi for dinner. Later, I noticed my face had become very red from the sun. Despite the cool weather, I had forgotten to apply sunscreen and ended up with a mild sunburn.

Day 5 – Goodbye Adelaide
It was time to say goodbye to Adelaide.
I spent my final morning shopping at Tea Tree Plaza. After breakfast, I explored the shopping centre and picked up some last-minute purchases.
In the afternoon, I headed to the airport.
My Virgin Australia flight departed Adelaide at 4:55 PM and arrived in Brisbane at 9:50 PM.
I stayed overnight at Brisbane International Airport Terminal before my flight back to Port Moresby the following morning.
