From the Port of Jordan, my first stop is the smallest plaza located in Poblacion, Jordan, Guimaras. I dont really spend longer time exploring around this once smallest plaza in the world as written in the Guinness World Record. This plaza with the statue of the National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, measured less than 300 sq meters. It is a nice stop and worth remembering.#tripblazers#plaza

It is known as Land of the most special quality and sweetest Mangoes in the country: the Guimaras Island Province located in Western Visayas. I can't find mangoes during out of season but a Mango Island Pizza will do. Interesting to mix mangoes with cheese and special sauces on a pizza bread. I find my best mango pizza at The Mango Island Cafe located in Jordan, Guimaras which is along the road. The building is container box inspired. Although the structure of Guisi lighthouse is already disarray, rotten metal remains and almost ruined, yet being the one of the oldest lighthouses in the country makes it a historical landmark. It is located in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. It is actually an 18th century spanish colonial lighthouse, 17.5 meters high with octagonal and cylindrical tower, built to guide mariners passing iloilo and guimaras. I walked for 15 minute trail from the parking area and enjoy the view of the sea. The experience is so relaxing, enjoyable and a little bit nostalgic on top. We dropped by at Biking's Seafood Restaurant for lunch in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras. We ordered seafoods good for eight pax- sizzling bangus, seafood sisig, pinakbet, grilled mackerel and steamed rice. It was an enjoyable lunch that refreshes us from a long tour within Guimaras Island province. A taste of western visayan food we experience that is free from artificial flavors, freshly cooked and deliciously presented. When I think of Guimaras, it always brings me to the memory of the monks living in enclosure with extreme sacrifices. Trip.com flies me to Manila-ilo-ilo. As I reached the Ilo-ilo international airport, by car i reached Ortiz Port. By riding a boat, i reached Jordan Port where I can arrange a 30 minute jeepney/ muti-cab to the Trappist Monastery in Brgy. San Miguel. I toured the monastery grounds with plenty of mango trees and spent a day of prayer and silence. I talk with the monk who are very friendly and full of wisdom about life. The place also can entertain overnight spenders. When I left the monastery grounds, I don't forget to buy jellies, jams, candies and more. All are products grown in Trappist grounds. Sharing my recent Guimaras trip (the new normal) From Manila, (Airasia PH) Airport counter will ask for your Vaccine Card, S-Pass and will also ask you about your stay -- where in Iloilo you are going. In my case its just Iloilo City, I didn't even tell that I'm also going to Guimaras (or even my plan to go to Negros Occidental afterwards), just to lessen the questioning while check in. Upon arrival in ILO (Iloilo International Airport), you have to fill up a Health Declaration Form plus you have to show your valid ID, S-Pass and Vaccine Card. Again, I mention here that I will be just in Iloilo City and declared my hotel name as for my residence in the province. Going to Guimaras, in Parola port, they will hand you some forms you have to fill out. Health Declaration Checklist and an Inbound Pass form. Also, they ask for my Valid ID and Vaccine card and ask a lot of questions. Good things its just a day trip around the province(they will ask if you're going to the beach and I don't know if they will ask for added requirements if you do so) and much better to have some contact person in Guimaras, as you can used them as your reference like what I did. In Jordan Port, Guimaras you just have to present your Inbound Pass and signed on the Tourism log sheet. It went easy for me since I have a tour guide waiting and he must be a well known, coz no other questions asked when I say his name. Remember to keep the Inbound pass form coz you need to surrender them upon your exit at the port. Fast Craft fare is 40 pesos per one way and goes every 30 minutes if I'm not mistaken. and the rest is history.. We traveled to Panglao from Cebu by ferry, which took two hours. The ferry docks at Tagbilaran Port (a neighboring island). From there, you take a taxi across the bridge to Panglao. Alona Beach is the main hub of activity. It's always crowded, day and night. There are lots of cafes, bars, and small hotels. Consequently, it's very noisy. We stayed a little further away in a nice apartment complex that we rented on TripAdvisor. Alona Beach itself is not bad for a city beach, but for a nice swim without the crowds, I'd recommend going to Dumalyun Beach. The most beautiful part is towards Oceanica Resort. Luxurious clean sand, palm trees, and a beautiful sea. Everything is very Instagrammable (in a good way) and aesthetically pleasing. If you go in the opposite direction (towards White Beach), everything is completely different. The sea is dirty, and there are lots of locals and easy-going backpackers. You can take excursions to the Chocolate Hills from here. And take a ride along the Loboc River. The trip takes about 2 hours one way. We took a tuk-tuk. It cost 1,800 pesos. Taxis don't go there, so you can find a private driver or take an organized tour (but that will be more expensive). Tourist boats with lunch/dinner included ply the Loboc River. Between stations, tourists are greeted with traditional dances. The ride probably takes about 30-40 minutes. The cost is about 1,000 pesos. But we went a different route, went a little further and rented a regular boat just for ourselves for 500 pesos per person. We even took it to some waterfalls and swam under them. The big tourist boats don't go there. The Chocolate Hills are overhyped, in my opinion. Beautiful, yes. But the ride is long. And only for show. I definitely wouldn't go there again. On the way there, you can stop at a tarsier park and see the Man Maid forest. Everyone stops along the way to take beautiful photos. Overall, three days on the island is enough.

📍San Lorenzo Wind Farm HMRR+6WJ, San Lorenzo, Guimaras The place is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking, offering a stunning view overlooking a farm. We visited on a weekday, so we had the entire place to ourselves. We took plenty of photos, and it felt surreal to be so close to the massive windmills. We booked a boat ride from Iloilo to get here. Once you arrive at the Jordan Terminal, you can arrange a tricycle tour at the Tourism Office—San Lorenzo Wind Farm is included in the itinerary.

Went to the tour operator that operates at Alobijod Cove Resort. This area has plenty of hidden coves, caves and beaches. First stop - Natago Beach. Access to the swimming area was pretty small but clean and nice. You can bring your own swimming goggles to possibly snorkel as well. Next stop was Baras Cave. A small tunnel-like cave accessible via boat. If the tide permits, small boats can pass through Baras Cave. Unfortunately, our boat cannot enter the cave because the tide was high. :( I got to Guimaras Island via Iloilo, only a 15-20min boat ride from Iloilo Ferry Terminal.
