Just a 1-hour drive from Wuhan!
This is Xiaogan's oldest resort area, but also a favorite among locals. With its beautiful lake and mountain scenery, dense forests, hot springs, and water park, it's perfect for a weekend getaway. The key is that it's really not crowded; you won't have to squeeze with other tourists.

Stop saying Xiaogan has no culture! The Xiaogan City Museum is truly worth a visit. It houses many precious artifacts and a special exhibition on filial piety culture. After seeing it, you'll have a completely new understanding of Xiaogan.

· Xiaogan Ancient Civilization Exhibition: From the Neolithic Age to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, learn about the history of Xiaogan.
· Filial Piety Culture Exhibition: Dong Yong selling himself to bury his father, Huang Xiang warming the bed for his father, Meng Zong crying over bamboo—learn about the origins of filial piety culture.

3. Liji Reganmian (Li's Hot Dry Noodles)
· Xiaogan version of hot dry noodles, different from Wuhan's.
· Thicker sesame paste, chewier noodles.

4. Lao Hankou Mianwo (Old Hankou Fried Dough Sticks)
· Freshly fried dough sticks, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
· 1.5 yuan each, best eaten fresh out of the fryer.
📍 Jianshe Road Rice Wine Street
The birthplace of Xiaogan rice wine, dozens of rice wine shops, each with its own unique characteristics.
✅ Recommendation: Lu Yuan Ji Old Brand
· A century-old shop with family-inherited craftsmanship
· Thick rice wine soup, so thick it clings to a spoon, 8 yuan a bowl
· Perfect with fried glutinous rice cakes and fried dough sticks
· Usually sold out after 2 PM, go early if you prefer.
📍 Chengzhan Road Snack Street
A favorite among students, cheap and delicious.
✅ Must-Try:
· Fried Food: 5 yuan for 10 skewers, brushed with sweet and spicy sauce, super delicious
· Spicy Hot Pot: Sold by weight, 10 yuan per person to eat your fill

· A well-established restaurant with over ten years of history, loved by locals.
· Grilled beef tallow, grilled eggplant, grilled chicken feet, stir-fried snails.
· Average price: 50 RMB per person, delicious and affordable.
2. Shrimp King
· A summer must-try! Braised shrimp in oil, garlic shrimp.
· 158 RMB per pot, very generous portion.
· Paired with ice-cold beer, the perfect summer treat.
3. Lao Difang Hot Pot
· Local Xiaogan hot pot, exceptionally delicious.

The liveliest place in summer, with dozens of food stalls lined up in a row.

· Recommendation: "Brothers' Food Stall," which has been open for many years.
