Located at No. 8 Wenmiao Street in the southeast corner of Juye County, Juye Confucian Temple was first built during the Song and Jin dynasties as a place to worship Confucius, the founder of Confucianism. The existing main building, Dacheng Hall, dates back to the Ming Dynasty. Originally located north of the city, it was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt due to flooding from the Yellow River. In the 15th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1382), County Magistrate Lü Rang relocated it to its current site. Through continuous renovations and expansions during the Ming (Yongle, Zhengtong, Chenghua, and Zhengde reigns) and Qing (Kangxi and Qianlong reigns) dynasties, it reached a grand scale by the 41st year of the Kangxi reign (1702), covering over 30 mu with 5 courtyards and east and west side courtyards, featuring over 70 structures including halls, pavilions, towers, rooms, corridors, kiosks, and archways. Modeled after the Dacheng Hall of the Confucius Temple in Qufu, the hall faces south and stands 13.7 meters tall. It is 5 bays wide and 3 bays deep, featuring a double-eaved, nine-ridged, hip-and-gable roof. Of the 24 large stone columns surrounding the hall, the 8 on the front eaves and the 2 at the ends of the back eaves feature high-relief carvings of two dragons playing with a pearl. Juye Confucian Temple serves as a historical witness to the promotion of Confucian thought and culture in southwest Shandong, possessing unique artistic value and profound cultural significance. On March 5, 2013, the Dacheng Hall of Juye Confucian Temple was designated by the State Council as a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level.

The Jinshan cliff tomb, also known as the Qin king's summer retreat cave, Jinshan great cave, and "Imperially bestowed Daming Chan Monastery", is located on the southern slope of Jinshan in Juye County, Shandong Province. It is a cliff tomb complex manually excavated in the mid Western Han dynasty, originally an unused tomb built by Liu He, the king of Changyi. Above the cave entrance is the inscription "Imperially bestowed Daming Chan Monastery" dated to the third year of Jin Dading (1163). Yuan dynasty stone Buddha statues inside the cave are well preserved. In 2019, the Jinshan Han tomb group was announced by the State Council as part of the eighth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

#europetrip The Julius Caesar exhibition is... more like giving a history lesson alongside some not-so-extraordinary objects of the SPQR. There is a lot to hear with the audio guide and the texts are well-formed. But sadly there aren't many good antiques to see actually. The objects are mediocre, some not really relevant to Caesar in particular, and are mostly lumped in glass shelves that kills the aesthetics. If you haven't known a lot about Caesar you may find it very educative; but for me l've known enough about him, and this exhibition then becomes quite dull.

The city isn't large, but it has plenty of delicious food, making it quite suitable for a leisurely visit.
