The SBB InterCity train ride itself was smooth, scenic, and super comfortable. As we left Zurich, the landscape quickly shifted from city buzz to peaceful countryside — rolling green hills, pristine lakes, and postcard villages all along the way. I made stops in Lucerne, Lausanne, and the stunning Lavaux region, where I stayed in Grandvaux for a few days (highly recommended for vineyard views and peaceful walks). The use of light colours and natural materials creates a pleasant and warm atmosphere. The interior is refined, with lots of light wood and leather seating. It has comfortable sofas for reading and relaxing. There is also a hotel-style day room where you can take a nap and then wake up to enjoy the magnificent view of the airport from the terrace. It is an ideal place to relax. Impressive wine selection including local wine from Landolt Weine in Zurich, other local schnapps, local beer, really special. The same goes for food. The menu is excellent, offering options to suit all tastes and preferences, including vegetarian options. We tried several appetizers and entrees and were very pleased with the quality, taste and presentation. What’s even more exaggerated is that even cheese stew can be eaten. The staff provide excellent service and ensure you have everything you need for comfortable seating, lodging and eating.

After exploring various parts of Europe, we finally discovered the ideal hotel room. It was exceptionally clean, spacious, and featured great lighting with a well-organized layout. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, while the bathroom was thoughtfully designed with a large shower and ample bench space. Both the room and bathroom had a modern, luxurious feel. The room also included air conditioning, which we realized is a necessity during Swiss summers but not commonly found. The staff were highly professional, and the location was unbeatable—directly connected to the airport and the circle, offering plenty of dining options and a supermarket. For an evening flight in and morning flight out, this hotel was incredibly convenient, just a five-minute walk from the airport terminal. You simply take an elevator up to reach the reception level. The staff was welcoming and efficient. The room was adequately spacious, featuring large windows that made it bright and a peaceful courtyard view that ensured quietness. It had a comfortable bed, a practical work desk, plenty of lighting, sufficient charging points, and an acceptable amount of storage. The addition of a very comfortable couch was a pleasant surprise. The price seems to fluctuate depending on the time of year. While it can be pricey, my stay in March offered a reasonable rate for the quality provided, especially by Swiss standards. I chose the optional breakfast at check-in, and though a bit expensive, it was truly excellent. If you enjoy a full breakfast, it’s worth the cost. However, if you only need something light, more affordable options are available nearby or in the airport terminal. Overall, my stay was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again if the price remains reasonable.

She noticed how tired we were—traveling with our son, coming off a late flight, completely drained—and took great care of us. She expedited check-in, followed up with a request to our suite, and ensured we had everything we needed before wishing us goodnight. These small gestures made a big difference. The hotel itself is perfect for a layover: just a short walk from the terminal, with modern, quiet rooms for a restful night. The suite was spacious, although there was a faint food smell, likely due to previous guests. Aside from that, I enjoyed the spa, gym, and even some plane spotting from the lounge. We stayed one night at Hyatt Place at The Circle near Zurich International Airport, booking through booking.com. The confirmation came via email instantly, payment was hassle-free, and we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The hotel is just a short 3-4 minute walk through The Circle to the airport, with clear signage leading the way. There are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, and coffee shops nearby for convenience. The lobby, as well as the restaurant and bar on the ground floor, offered numerous spots to unwind. Our room was cozy and well-equipped, featuring a two-seater sofa, a small round table-desk with a sitting chair, TV, A/C, Wi-Fi, fridge, kettle, coffee and tea, a safe, and an iron with an ironing board. The bathroom was also spacious. Overall, this is a great airport hotel, perfect for relaxing before an early flight. We would happily stay here again.

If this were the only hotel at Zurich Airport, I’d be satisfied given its nice, modern facilities. However, Hyatt seems to be competing with itself here. As a Globalist member, even for a one-night stay, I’d rather stay at the Hyatt Regency next door, which offers at least a chance for a suite upgrade—something Hyatt Place lacks since it doesn’t have suites. The Regency isn’t that much more expensive, so I’d rather pay a bit extra for the added value. This reminds me of Cairo, where Hyatt placed both hotels in the exact same spot—a setup that isn’t particularly useful to me. For guests without Hyatt status, Hyatt Place might be a decent choice when traveling solo, but there are alternatives like the Radissons, which are often cheaper than Hyatt Place.

The rooms were fantastic, as were the ambience and location. It's within walking distance to the airport, though there's a bit of a walk from where cars or buses drop you off.
