I visited "Kurihashi Yasaka Shrine" in Kurihashi, Saitama Prefecture‼️ I've always been curious about this shrine every time I drove by⛩️ Finally, I got the chance to visit😁 It's a historic shrine deeply revered by the locals, and it apparently gets pretty crowded with worshippers during New Year's visits✨ While it's not a massive shrine, it has a cozy yet historic vibe⛩️😃✌ Legend has it that this shrine was originally located in Moto-Kurihashi (Goka Village, Sashima District)😅 The exact year it was founded is a mystery💦 Apparently, it was relocated to its current spot after a massive flood on the Tone River during the Keicho era (1596-1615)‼️ When the Kurihashi post town (Kurihashi-juku) was moved to this area during the Kanei era (1624-1644), the shrine became highly revered as the general guardian of Kurihashi-juku on the Nikko Kaido. Back in the Edo period, Kurihashi was a crucial transportation hub on the Nikko Kaido, complete with a checkpoint set up by the Tokugawa shogunate. It was a bustling post town filled with shipowners and travelers using the Tone River waterway to get to Edo😁 Right next to the shrine is National Route 4 (Nikko Kaido), which connects Saitama and Ibaraki. In the old days, people probably walked along this exact path from Kurihashi-juku to Koga-juku‼️ On the shrine grounds, there were quite a few "Koinobori🎏" (carp streamers) fluttering in the wind, looking like they were happily swimming through the sky😁 It was cloudy today, but I heard you can catch a glimpse of Mount Tsukuba and Mount Fuji on a clear day‼️

"Kuki Shobu Park" in Kuki City, Saitama Prefecture‼️ The park features a large pond called "Showa Numa," offering boat and bicycle rentals, a fishing pond, BBQ facilities, and more😁 Showa Numa, which makes up about 80% of the park, boasts a "Giant Fountain⛲" that shoots water up to 34 meters high✨ Right on the shore of the pond is "BEACON coffee and bakes," where you can enjoy your Coffee☕ while taking in the view of the fountain‼️ They even have a wooden deck outside‼️ On a sunny day, it would be amazing to sit out on the deck's terrace and feel the pleasant breeze🍃😁 Unfortunately, it was cloudy the day I went☁️ It was also a bit chilly, so I opted to watch the Giant Fountain⛲ from inside the cafe😭 "BEACON coffee and bakes" specializes in authentic baked goods and Coffee☕ I ordered a cold brew coffee and a slice of cheesecake🍰😃✌ The cheesecake was rich and moist‼️ It wasn't overly sweet, making it an absolutely perfect match for the coffee☕❣️ I also impulse-bought an "Animal Cookie🍪" because it looked so cute😁 I feel a bit bad eating it, but... I'll enjoy it with my coffee☕ later❣️ While I was enjoying my cheesecake & coffee, the giant fountain right in front of me suddenly shot up, totally taking me by surprise👀‼️ Even though the weather wasn't on my side💦 Somehow... I was still able to have a thoroughly relaxing and laid-back time😁 It's a beautiful season for fresh greenery right now, so packing a lunchbox for a picnic on a sunny day would probably be absolutely perfect😍💓💓😁

Lunch at Musashino Udon "Noubo" in Kuki City, Saitama Prefecture ☀️🍴 A noodle-loving acquaintance highly recommended this place, saying, "You should definitely go!" 😁 Although they open at 11:00 AM, customers started pouring in as soon as they opened. 😅 Within 30 minutes of opening, it was almost completely full. 🈵️ There are various seating options: tables, counter seats, and tatami mat seating! ️ The counter seats are great because they have partitions between them, so you don't have to worry about the person next to you. 😁 I ordered as soon as I sat down! ️ Of course! ️ It's burdock root noodles! 😁 I was curious to see what kind of udon it would be, since burdock root is kneaded into the udon noodles. 😅 I ordered the burdock root noodles with meat and green onion broth and a tempura fritter. 😃✌ The staff explained beforehand that the udon would be boiled after ordering, so I would have to wait about 15 minutes. 😅 The staff were incredibly kind and helpful! 😍💓💓 Finally, 15 minutes had passed, and the udon was in front of me! 👀😃 As expected from burdock root noodles, the noodles were slightly dark! ️ And on top of the noodles were wide wheat noodles, which was a visual surprise! 👀‼ ️ The aroma of burdock root... It was just a faint scent, I suppose. 😁 The dipping sauce was flavorful, and the combination of pork and green onions was fantastic! 😍💓💓😃✌ The tempura fritter was super crispy! ️ There was salt next to the kakiage (vegetable tempura), so I could choose between tempura dipping sauce or salt... It's been a while, but I finally paid a visit to Washinomiya Shrine in Washinomiya, Saitama Prefecture‼️ The weather was cloudy, which was a bit of a bummer, but at least it held off on raining😁 Even with the gloomy weather, locals were steadily coming in to pay their respects😁 Washinomiya Shrine... Said to be the oldest grand shrine in the Kanto region, it traces its origins back to the Izumo clan. 🌸Aoge Horikawa, the finale of this year's early-blooming cherry blossoms 🌸Aoge Horikawa, a famous spot for Kawazu cherry blossoms, a hidden gem in Saitama Prefecture. Kawazu cherry blossoms are planted along the river for about 2.5 kilometers, and about 300 cherry trees will be in full bloom in early March. Rape blossoms are also planted under the cherry blossoms, and the pink cherry blossoms and yellow rape blossoms create a romantic spring scene. 🌸It's very quiet here, and there are few convenience stores, so there are few people who know about it and few tourists who visit. The Kawazu cherry trees are low, making it perfect for taking photos of people. About an hour from Tokyo on the Tobu Line, leave the east exit of Washinomiya Station and go straight, and you'll see the beautiful cherry blossoms in about 5 minutes. There is a small shop on the left side of the station where you can rent a bicycle, which you can rent for 400 yen a day. The owner is a very kind old lady. 🌸This spring has been warmer than usual, and the cherry blossoms are blooming and falling earlier. The Kawazu cherry blossoms along Aogehori River are already in the final stages, and there were many leaves when I visited on the 12th. You may be able to enjoy the full bloom in a few more days, but by next weekend there will only be leaves. At a park in Kuki, Japan we found a lot of cute white wild mushrooms on the grass. The park is beautiful with a lake and there is a very good cafe BEACON serve cakes and soft milk ice cream which is the best ice cream ever. If you want to have a quiet time in Tokyo you must go to Kuki. You can ride on a swan paddle boat to see the whole part of the lake. Next time we will definitely do it.
