If you're looking for the perfect guide for your safari, look no further—Daniel is exceptional. From the very first day, he adapted to our pace and preferences, ensuring each day was absolutely perfect. He’s an excellent driver, and my wife Cassandra and I felt completely safe at all times, whether on the tracks of Samburu, Ol Pejeta, or around Lake Naivasha. Beyond his professionalism, Daniel is a fundamentally warm person, always pleasant and smiling. Every day with him brought a new surprise! He took the time to share his fascinating knowledge about animals and even taught us some Swahili words and expressions, making the experience feel truly authentic. We genuinely cherished these moments of connection throughout the trip and are returning home with countless unforgettable memories. A big thank you also goes to Purity, who was an excellent and attentive contact during the planning of our itinerary. Thank you to everyone for simply making our dream come true!

Our tour through Laikipia, Lake Nakuru, Ol Pejeta, and the Maasai Mara was an outstanding journey from beginning to end. Every destination brought its own charm — the stunning landscapes of Laikipia, the wildlife and flamingos of Lake Nakuru, the extraordinary conservation center at Ol Pejeta, and the remarkable wildlife experiences at the Maasai Mara. George meticulously handled everything, from transportation and accommodations to the daily game drives and overall itinerary. His professionalism, attention to detail, and extensive knowledge elevated the experience. This venture was far more than a typical vacation; it was an authentic Kenyan safari full of astounding wildlife, captivating scenery, and unforgettable memories. Choosing the right tour company was pivotal, and this was undoubtedly the best choice.

In October 2021, Kenya Airways, in partnership with the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) and the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), created a special livery on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with registration number 5Y-KZD. · Named "Come Live The Magic," the goal was to promote tourism + endangered species conservation. · ✅ What's the story? One side (port side): 2 northern white rhinos — Najin and Fatu, the only 2 northern white rhinos left in the world. They live in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and are both female, having been declared functionally extinct. Today, the BioRescue project is desperately trying to save this subspecies using in vitro fertilization and surrogacy technology. Painting them on a 787 turned this aircraft into a living advertisement for a global tour, serving as a reminder every time it landed at an airport: don't let any species become the last two. · The other side (starboard side): 2 elephants, including the famous super tusker Big Tim from Amboseli National Park (who lived for over 50 years and passed away in 2020), and another giant tusker. · This livery was kept from 2021 until May 2026. It has now been removed, so you can't spot it anymore. · ✅ Kenya Airways' 9 787-8s are named after iconic geographical landmarks in Africa/Kenya: 5Y-KZA, named The Great Rift Valley 5Y-KZB, named The Zambezi River 5Y-KZC, named Maasai Mara 5Y-KZD 5Y-KZE, named Serengeti Plains 5Y-KZF 5Y-KZG, named Magical Kenya (Kenya's national tourism slogan) 5Y-KZH, named The Aberdare Range 5Y-KZJ, named Ngorongoro Crater (a World Natural Heritage site) ·

Our trip with Martin was fantastic. From our first contact, he was highly responsive and helpful in planning the trip while offering valuable advice tailored to what we wanted to see and experience. Although our journey was primarily safari-focused, Martin’s knowledge extended beyond parks and wildlife to include Kenya’s culture and communities. He was superb at spotting and identifying animals, even from afar, and shared insightful details about various species in the parks we visited—Ol Pejeta and Samburu—as well as broader aspects of the country. Martin’s professionalism and courteous demeanor ensured we felt safe and comfortable throughout. His flexibility was remarkable, adjusting our plans as needed and always offering great advice to maximize our experience. Without a doubt, when we return to Kenya, we’ll want Martin to be our guide and driver again. We highly recommend Martin for anyone seeking a fun, informative, and secure safari adventure in Kenya. Thank you for everything, Martin 🙏🏻 We hope to see you again soon!

The dream to explore Kenya's iconic national parks started years ago after meeting a wildlife enthusiast in Bandhavgarh. He had mentioned that while one Kenyan safari costs as much as ten safaris in India, the experience is unparalleled—words that stayed with me. To avoid the steep rise in Masai Mara park fees in July, we planned our trip for June. Following multiple discussions, we crafted an itinerary featuring Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, and the legendary Masai Mara. Although parks like Samburu, Tsavo, and Ol Pejeta were tempting, we opted for a balanced plan that appealed to both casual visitors and dedicated wildlife photographers. The route ensured minimal travel time and maximized our ability to savor meals and hospitality at each lodge. We committed to a 6-night, 7-day safari (7–13 June 2026) covering Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and Masai Mara. Since Masai Mara's entry fees double during the Great Migration (July–December), we chose June, when the charge was USD 100 per person per day instead of USD 200. Staying inside or close to Masai Mara Reserve was a priority. After comparing offers from three operators, we chose Meektrails Safaris, which provided an all-inclusive package priced at USD 1,500 per adult and USD 1,000 for a 13-year-old child. The package included lodging, meals, park fees, game drives, and transport. Our group had 12 adults, one child, and one toddler. The booking necessitated a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance paid upon arrival in Nairobi. Securing Kenya’s Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) was incredibly straightforward—it was approved within ten minutes of applying. Before departure, we also completed the mandatory Yellow Fever vaccination, which provides lifelong certification. Essential documents for visiting Kenya: · Passport valid for at least six months. · Yellow Fever vaccination certificate. · Kenya Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). · Return airline ticket. The safari across the parks offered a lifetime of unforgettable experiences. However, based on my Masai Mara visit, I would advise staying inside the park. If that cost isn’t feasible, staying near the Talek entry gate would still be ideal, as most game drives occur near the Talek River. The renowned Mushiyara Marsh pride is also located close to this area.

Four of us rented a fully-equipped Hilux from Black Leopard for two weeks in August. We planned a route starting from Nairobi to Ol Pejeta, then Amboseli, both Tsavos, and down to the coastal areas of Diani, Kilifi, and Watamu before looping back—about 2,500km in total, much of it on rough park roads and corrugated dirt. The truck handled all terrains with ease. What truly made the trip incredible was the setup. The vehicle came with two rooftop tents that set up in minutes, complete with mattresses. They were genuinely comfortable—we slept better in them than at some of the coastal accommodations. The kitchen equipment was stored in a slide-out at the back: it included a gas bottle and burner, pots, pans, a kettle, plates, cutlery, washing-up gear, and even a proper fridge that ran off the truck. The fridge kept beers and food cold for three full days of wild camping in Tsavo. Additionally, camp chairs, a table, a jack, and recovery gear were all included, making it easy to camp self-sufficiently at Kenya Wildlife Service public campsites, which are unfenced and occasionally visited by wandering hyenas. We never felt underprepared. From start to finish, Brian was fantastic—quick to respond via email and WhatsApp, provided a straightforward invoice, and gave us a thorough walkthrough of the vehicle at pickup. Our deposit was refunded within days of returning the truck, hassle-free, which speaks volumes about their professionalism. If you're contemplating a self-drive adventure in Kenya, go for it and choose these guys. Four friends, rooftop tents, a fridge stocked with Tuskers, and the vast expanse of Tsavo to yourself—it was the best trip any of us have ever had!

We recently completed an incredible 7-day safari across Kenya, exploring Aberdare National Park, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Hell's Gate, Mount Longonot, and the Maasai Mara. The trip was truly unforgettable, thanks to our guide and driver, Peter Kagon. From day one, Peter’s 25 years of experience shone through. He had an extraordinary talent for locating wildlife, often taking us to prime viewing spots ahead of other vehicles. Whether it was spotting predators in the Maasai Mara or observing rhinos at Ol Pejeta, Peter consistently knew the perfect place and timing. Besides his expertise, Peter made the entire journey a real pleasure. His friendly, humorous personality and ability to share captivating insights about Kenya’s landscapes, wildlife, and culture added an extra dimension to the adventure. He was patient, attentive, and clearly passionate about his work, making every moment feel special. If you’re planning a safari in Kenya, make sure to request Peter Kagon as your guide. He transformed a well-planned itinerary into a remarkable experience, and we wholeheartedly recommend him.

Our day trip to Ol Pejeta Conservancy with Benuki Safaris was a fantastic experience. From the smooth arrangements to the well-organized itinerary, everything was seamless. The safari allowed us to see wildlife in their natural environment, including rhinos, elephants, zebras, and other animals. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive throughout. We also appreciated learning about the conservancy's conservation efforts. Benuki Safaris provided a professional and memorable service. Highly recommended!

We went on a safari with Kampur Travel upon a friend's recommendation, and it was truly delightful. Kamal and Purvi planned a fantastic itinerary for our small family (two adults and three kids aged 12, 11, and 7), taking us through the Massai Mara, Lake Naivasha, and the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The beauty of Kenya’s landscapes and the conservation efforts by the government and foundations left us amazed. Kamal and Purvi remained in regular contact to ensure everything went smoothly. While at Naivasha, we stayed at Elsamere Lodge, which was nice but not particularly suitable for children; perhaps we spent one night too many there. Kamal and Purvi suggested we visit the geothermal hot springs pool in Hell's Gate Park, and it turned out to be a memorable family experience. The highlight of the trip was our guide, Newton, who was absolutely incredible. His deep knowledge of wildlife and nature, paired with impeccable spotting skills — like noticing a lion's ear behind a bush — made the safari unforgettable. Newton's kindness, patience, and expertise truly enriched our journey, making our first safari in Kenya something we will remember forever. We’re already planning to return to Kenya to explore more of this stunning country and experience the warmth and hospitality of its people once again. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Firstly, Paul was an absolute delight to plan with. He made the entire process smooth and effortless for us. From the moment I reached out to the point of finalizing the payment, Paul was consistently helpful and informative. Upon landing in Nairobi, both Paul and Mike were there to greet us. We started our adventure at Nairobi National Park, where their impressive knowledge and expertise truly shone. They had answers to all our questions about the country, animals, and more. The following days were spent with Mike exploring Ol Pejeta and Samburu National Park. Mike made us feel comfortable and safe throughout the journey—he was entertaining, funny, knowledgeable, friendly, and such a joy to be around. Saying goodbye to him was genuinely emotional. Once we reached Maasai Mara, Victor picked us up. He was witty, caring, intelligent, and equally knowledgeable. It felt like both Victor and Mike became part of our family during the short time we spent with them. I cannot stress enough how amazing Paul, Mike, and Victor were to me and my family. They made this trip truly unforgettable. Thanks to them, we now have a wonderful second family in Kenya. I can’t wait to return and visit again soon!

There isn't enough room to describe all the praise I want to deliver about the time my wife and I spent in Kenya with Discovery. This was our first safari, and based on conversations with others who’ve traveled with different tour groups, Discovery clearly offers the best experience. Jim, the owner, has been doing this for decades and has perfected the itinerary. One major advantage is having the same driver/guide throughout the 10 days. Initially, I didn’t understand its importance, but now I see its value. Your guide becomes familiar with you—what you've seen, what you still want to see, and your specific interests. The guides are incredibly knowledgeable, with 10 to 20 years of experience. Our guide, Amos, was fantastic, and everyone in our group (six vehicles) agreed their guide was excellent, too. Another advantage is that Discovery limits vehicle seating to just four people per Land Cruiser, ensuring ample space and less competition for good viewing spots. In contrast, I saw other vehicles packed with six or more people, which seemed cramped, especially with all the large camera lenses on board. The camps we stayed in were pleasant—comfortable, clean, with good food and amazing staff. While they weren’t overly luxurious, we weren’t roughing it either. The tents were only tents in name; they had fully equipped bathrooms, hot water, and cozy beds. Most nights were cool, with morning temperatures ranging between the upper 50s to low 60s. Additionally, three locations were hotels with comfortable rooms. All accommodations also offered pools, bars, and some spa services, though time often didn’t allow us to enjoy those amenities. The itinerary is packed and energetic. Mornings start early at 6 AM when you load into the Land Cruisers, and you return around 9 AM for breakfast. Afterward, there’s usually a site visit or travel to the next camp, followed by lunch and a brief period to relax. By 4:30 PM, you’re back in the vehicle and out exploring again until dark. The day ends with dinner, cleanup, and sleep before it all repeats. I wholeheartedly recommend Discovery for anyone planning a safari, as they truly provide the best possible experience. It’s a joy to endorse them knowing how exceptional their service is.

My wife and I planned a 13-day personalized safari, including five safaris and a three-day stay at the Diani Beach Resort. Esther, our coordinator, organized all our accommodations and flights to and from Diani. Sam, our guide, had an impressive ability to spot animals camouflaged in the grasses and provided us with extensive knowledge about Kenya and its wildlife. He went above and beyond to ensure we maximized our experience. Upon arrival at Nairobi airport, Esther and Sam greeted us warmly and transferred us to a Toyota Land Cruiser for our journey. Our adventure began at Amboseli National Park and continued through Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Samburu National Reserve, Lake Naivasha, and Masai Mara. The final leg involved a trip to Nairobi International Airport for our stay at the Diani Beach Resort. The wildlife encounters were astonishing—elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes often came remarkably close to our vehicle. Experiencing the great migration at Masai Mara was awe-inspiring, with herds of zebras and wildebeests seen frequently. We also witnessed nature's harsh realities through predators and scavengers feeding on fallen prey. The accommodations ranged from upscale to luxurious, with the Sopa lodges being exceptional—highly recommend requesting these. In places where Sopa lodges weren't available, the other arrangements were equally comfortable with welcoming staff. Meals were buffet-style, offering both international and Kenyan dishes, with plenty of delicious desserts. Box lunches were provided during park transfers and picnic outings. Overall, we had an incredible journey facilitated by attentive and friendly staff throughout.

We had an incredible safari with Beacon Safaris and strongly recommend them to others. The entire trip was superbly organized, from the booking process to the conclusion, and communication was always prompt and straightforward. Our guide, Alex, was outstanding—he was not only a skilled and safe driver but also a fantastic safari guide with extensive knowledge of wildlife and where to spot animals. He did his utmost to ensure we saw a variety of wildlife, and thanks to him, we witnessed so many remarkable creatures. It was clear he truly enjoys his work. We explored Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru, and the Masai Mara. Each park had its unique charm and breathtaking landscapes, showing how diverse and beautiful Kenya truly is. The lodges were excellent, offering great locations, cozy rooms, and delicious food. Everything went seamlessly, and the entire trip exceeded our expectations.

Melvin from Native Afrika Voyages was our point of contact throughout the trip. He was knowledgeable, responsive, and accommodating, helping us craft a custom itinerary tailored to our requests and needs. As a result, we experienced the safari in a group of four with a dedicated driver/guide for nine full days. Our guide Antony picked us up from Nairobi, prioritizing our comfort and ease. His familiarity with all seven safari stops ensured we maximized our wildlife encounters. The lodges were midrange, clean, and reasonably appointed. Samburu was, by far, our favorite for its authentic safari atmosphere and wildlife spotting opportunities. Ol Pejeta conservatory stood out for top-notch service and facilities, while Lake Nakuru Lodge was disappointing with stale rooms and linens that seemed less than clean — if we were to redo the trip, we’d skip this stop altogether. We spent three days at Maasai Mara enjoying the great migration and vast landscapes; one day at Lake Naivasha provided a welcome break after seven intense days of traveling and game drives morning and afternoon. Two days at Amboseli were the perfect wrap-up to the experience, with breathtaking views of over 50 elephants roaming freely and hundreds of flamingos, which we had missed at Lake Nakuru. A few tips: Pack masks for game drives, as the dust accumulated by day four left us congested. Also, don't expect free water during meals — though buffets were abundant, water had to be purchased. From our limited experience, we recommend Serena properties, Sopa lodges, and Simba lodges in that particular order. Overall, an incredible trip! We would certainly choose Native Afrika Voyages as our travel company and Antony as our guide/driver again without hesitation.

Our safari adventure started at Amboselli National Park, and we chose Maleki Tours for our first safari experience. It was incredible! Wanting to relive that wonderful journey, we booked another trip with them, covering Nairobi, Samburu, Ol Pejeta, Hells Gate, Naivasha, Nakuru, and Maasai Mara. We even climbed Mount Longonot, which was simply stunning. Every detail was taken care of, and our every wish was fulfilled. All the guides were exceptionally trained – the best you’ll find anywhere. Thanks to them, we checked off the Big Five and witnessed sights beyond our imagination. If you're seeking a once-in-a-lifetime trip, this is it!

We went on an 8-day safari arranged by Oreteri, and our guide Steve was absolutely AMAZING! He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and ensured our safety throughout the trip. It's difficult to describe this experience in words—it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! I strongly suggest going on a safari, and if you're lucky enough to have Steve as your driver, you won't be disappointed. Thanks to his expertise, we managed to see Africa’s Big 5. I’m leaving a piece of my heart in Africa and sincerely hope to return someday.

I booked a private day trip to Ol Pejeta through Axis Safari, and the experience was phenomenal. Special thanks to Maurine for assisting us with the booking and itinerary setup, and to our guide Collin for making the trip exceptional. Collin picked us up early in the morning and shared invaluable insights about Kenya throughout the journey. He expertly navigated the park, stopping at the perfect spots to ensure we enjoyed the stunning sights. We were thrilled to spot a pride of lions walking right in front of us, along with rhinos and other wildlife. The whole experience was simply amazing. Despite having evening flights, Collin made sure everything ran smoothly. He even sacrificed his lunch so we could fully enjoy our trip and still return to the city in time for our flight. When faced with a town protest that could have delayed us, Collin skillfully found a way out, ensuring we reached the airport on time. Huge thanks to Mr. Collin and Axis Africa Safari for making me fall in love with Kenya and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

On the Kenyan savanna, the wind has a voice. It whispers through the dry golden grass, sweeps past the horns of buffaloes, and gently grazes the distant conservancy lodges. Egrets perch on the backs of the buffaloes like tiny guardians. As a vehicle slowly drives by, the dust dances in the sunlight. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is more than just a wildlife reserve; it's a place of hope. Every life here serves as a reminder that nature doesn't belong to humanity, but is a shared home. When you look into their eyes, you realize that the wild isn't cruel—it's simply honest. 📍 Travel Information · Opening Hours: Daily 07:00–18:30 · Admission Fee: Adults approx. USD $90–$100 (includes conservancy entry) · Transportation: • Around a 3.5–4 hour drive from Nairobi

On the Kenyan savanna, light carries weight. It gently settles on the chimpanzee's shoulder, seeps through the wire mesh, like a gentle hand brushing away the frost of the past. It gazes into the distance, its eyes quiet as if posing a question—not of sadness, but of curiosity about the world: "What shape does freedom truly take?" Zebras graze nearby, heads bowed; antelopes move with steps as light as the wind. They are unhurried, silent, each life with its own rhythm, like a slow song written by the earth. Sweetwaters Sanctuary is more than just a conservation center; it is a reminder—a reminder that the relationship between humanity and nature is not about possession, but protection; not about control, but understanding. When you gaze into their eyes, you suddenly understand—that love and respect are the simplest, yet most precious, languages in the world. 📍 Useful Information · Address: Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Nanyuki, Kenya · Admission Fee: · Adults: Approx. Avoid the crowded popular safaris in Kenya; the most healing journey is hidden in the Sweetwaters Community Conservancy in the north. This area, dedicated to wildlife conservation, is free from commercial noise, leaving only pure nature and the power of life. This is the habitat of the world's only two remaining northern white rhinos, Najin and Fatu, who quietly reside on the grasslands, allowing visitors to truly feel the meaning of life protection. The most touching is the 21-year-old blind rhino Baraka, gentle and affectionate. Hand-feeding and touching its rough skin and gentle horn creates a simple life connection that instantly soothes all restlessness. Within the conservancy is the chimpanzee sanctuary established by Jane Goodall, where 42 rescued chimpanzees live peacefully and freely. We stayed at the cliff-top Jambo Mutara Camp, escorted safely at night by armed rangers, providing a strong sense of security. Outside the tent is the rustic wilderness, while inside is exquisite comfort, with 24-hour hot water and natural toiletries all available. Enjoy dinner accompanied by staff singing and dancing at dusk, with a sky full of dazzling stars overhead. In the morning, lifting the curtain reveals sunlight spreading across the grassland, creating a full atmospheric experience. ✨Travel Tips 🚙 Reliable transfers: Sunshine Africa, experienced guides, expertly unlocking various wildlife encounters 🛜 Essential communication: Roaming Superman with no deposit, stable signal, supports multiple users, pay-as-you-go 📍 220 km north of Nairobi, about 5 hours by self-drive 🎫 Adult ticket $110, with options to book night safaris and walking experiences

We arranged a custom 19-day trip across Kenya, featuring safaris in Nairobi National Park, Tsavo East and West, Amboseli, Aberdare, Ol’ Pejeta, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, and Lake Naivasha, along with a few days exploring Nairobi. Lennox expertly crafted the itinerary, accommodating every preference, including specific accommodations and visits to historical sites. It was a truly personalized experience. On our first morning, we met Lennox and our safari guide Anthony to review the details before beginning our journey with high hopes. Those expectations were not only met but surpassed in every way. Kenya is an incredible destination, and witnessing so many animals and birds in their natural habitats was breathtaking. Anthony's enthusiasm and sharp skills in spotting wildlife, driving through challenging (sometimes muddy) terrain, and his deep knowledge of birds made him an exceptional guide. This aligned perfectly with our interests. Highlights included encountering a pack of about 20 African wild dogs resting in Tsavo West, watching cheetah and lion hunts (even if not successful) in the Masai Mara, feeding Baraka, a blind rhino at Ol’ Pejeta Conservancy, and experiencing the wetlands teeming with an overwhelming variety of birds and hippos in Amboseli. We also observed birds of prey, owls, vultures, storks, and even a secretary bird. The abundance of amazing photographs will help us cherish those moments forever. Our accommodations ranged from lodges to tented camps, and despite not being "camping people," we thoroughly enjoyed the tented stays, especially the cooler nights. Overall, it was a wonderfully crafted and flawlessly executed trip. We can’t wait to return. Thank you, NAV!

I was surprised to discover that Kenya is home to the world's northern white rhinos—a fascinating fact shared by our tour guide. It filled me with pride as a Kenyan, knowing this rare species resides in our country. Another memorable part of the trip was learning that rhinos use their dung to communicate. Our visit to Ol Pejeta Conservancy was thoroughly enjoyable, and I hope to return someday.
