Cueva del Viento is a fascinating experience and, in my view, absolutely worth doing. Unlike many other lava tunnels, it remains largely untouched by tourism. The floor isn't paved like in some Lanzarote caves, and there are no colorful lights illuminating the path. You'll explore several hundred meters of cave in its natural state. Although I'd visited another lava cave before, this felt completely different and unique. A major plus is the absence of large tour operators, as it allows only small groups to enter. After a surface walk, you descend into the cave, where it stays quite cool at about 14°C, even in summer. Be sure to bring a fleece! At one point, the guide asks everyone to turn off their helmet lights, leaving you in **total darkness and silence**—a truly rare and unforgettable experience.

We’re a young couple who got recommended this hotel by an entertainer we met in Lanzarote. We arrived late on a Tuesday night, but check-in was incredibly quick and easy. However, we were a bit disappointed with the room. The bathroom door didn’t fully close and was almost see-through, which might be uncomfortable for newer couples or friends staying here. The air conditioning was off and appeared dirty, possibly with mold. Renovating the corridors could definitely enhance the hotel! On the bright side, the rest of the hotel is gorgeous and sits right by a stunning, clean beach. We thought the food was quite good, offering plenty of options. The drinks selection was also nice, and Tony at the bar was fantastic—he remembered our orders after just one day! The entertainment was enjoyable as well. Although we didn’t meet Kasper, the entertainer who had initially recommended the hotel, the other staff were friendly and gave us lots of laughs. While the area doesn’t seem packed with shops, there’s one across the road. Additionally, a small strip is about 10 minutes away, and walking the other direction for 20 minutes brings you to a lovely lake trail. We do recommend bringing mosquito spray, as we got bitten even though we had some (perhaps not a strong enough brand). Despite these small issues, we’d definitely come back! In our early 20s, we still had a great time, and we met other guests who’ve been visiting for over a decade and had nothing but positive feedback.

My wife and I spent nearly a week on vacation at the Tívoli Resort La Caleta, and the experience was truly delightful. From the very start, we encountered a fantastic team of people, offering excellent attention and well-maintained service. We loved the restaurants, the pool service was outstanding, and our room was simply marvelous. Overall, it was a time of relaxation and enjoyment that we’ll cherish warmly. That said, I feel it’s worth mentioning one small observation that I believe the hotel should address. On the restaurant and café bills, two amounts are shown: one with the tip included and one without it. While I fully understand tipping as a way to acknowledge great service, the way it is presented makes guests feel almost obligated to include it. Honestly, I don’t think it should be this way. Given that Tívoli Resort is a top-tier hotel with prices that reflect its category, I think the decision to tip should remain entirely voluntary for guests, without inducing any sense of obligation or pressure. I share this feedback with the utmost respect, especially since our stay was so wonderful that I think it’s worth pointing out even minor aspects that could improve. Other than this, everything was positively fantastic. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time, and we will undoubtedly return. The Convento de Santo Domingo (now cultural center) is €0 to enter the cloister, €2 for the temporary exhibition; the San Francisco convent next door is exterior-only free. Teguise's lane grid — white cubes, green shutters, volcanic gravel yards — is the anti-Playa Blanca calm. Then I hitch-hiked (locals call it "el autostop") 12 km south to La Geria, or take the 9:40 bus (€2.20). In La Geria I walked the lava lane: 3,000 zocos (semi-circular dry-stone vine pits) on black picón soil, each with one Malvasía Volcánica vine. Bodega El Grifo (oldest, 1775) does €12 for 4 wines + cheese; Stratvs does €15 with a cellar tour. I paid €12 at El Grifo, sat on the terrace with a glass of dry Malvasía — saline, almond-skin finish, unlike any wine from the mainland. Mistake: I wore suede shoes — the picón lapsilli sticks to everything, brush them off or ruin the shoes. Another mistake: going midday in July — 39°C on black lava, no shade, the pit walls radiate; 9 am or 5 pm. Worth it?
