Yishan Day Trip | A Relaxing and Comfortable Mountain Getaway
Looking for a quiet place to unwind this weekend, I chose Yishan. Without doing any complicated planning beforehand, I just wanted to wander around. The result was a very pleasant and relaxing experience, with truly beautiful scenery.
🌤️ Trip Experience (Weather/Crowds/Comfort)
Sunny day, temperature 15-22℃. The mountain breeze was gentle, not too hot or stuffy; a light jacket and long sleeves were just right, very comfortable.
Not too crowded, a relaxed atmosphere: there were only a few minutes' queue at the entrance and for the shuttle bus, but there was no need to crowd around for photos at key spots like Yuhuangding and Baizhangya. The trails were spacious and easy to walk on.
Road Conditions: The sections accessible by the shuttle bus were smooth; the uphill trails were mostly stone steps with occasional short wooden boardwalks. They weren't steep, but walking up and down the continuous steps for a while could make your legs a little sore; the downhill trails were relatively gentle, with easy-to-walk, slip-resistant stone slabs.
📸 Heartfelt Highlights (Detailed Perspective)
1. Jade Emperor Peak: Pines and Wind at the Summit After taking the cable car to the top, don't rush to the Jade Emperor Pavilion. Walk a few steps along the path next to the Sea-Exploring Stone; there's an old pine forest with gnarled trunks and dense needles. The wind rustles through the pines, creating a sound like the wind whistling through the trees. Standing under the trees, you can see the distant mountains layered upon each other, their colors changing from dark to light. The view is exceptionally expansive, and there are few people, making it very peaceful.
The steps on the side of the Jade Emperor Pavilion offer views of the eaves and blue sky. Without crowds in the frame, the photos turn out clean and much more comfortable than those taken from the front, where everyone is packed.
2. Hundred-Zhang Cliff Waterfall: Coolness Near the Water Don't squeeze onto the front viewing platform. Walk to the shallows below the waterfall, find a flat rock to sit on, and enjoy the deep sound of the water crashing against the rocks. The mist drifts over, cool and refreshing, creating a more immersive experience than standing on the platform.
Tiny streams of water trickle down the rock face beside the waterfall, shimmering in the sunlight. Up close, you can see the damp, vibrant moss on the rock face.
3. Near Fayun Temple – A Quiet Corner in the Forest After descending the toboggan run, a wooden boardwalk leads to Fayun Temple. Tall pine trees line both sides, providing dense shade. Sunlight filters through the leaves, creating dappled patterns on the path, making for a pleasant walk. Occasionally, you can hear birdsong. It's not crowded, perfect for a leisurely stroll.
