Luoning travel guide and discussion

Ai He Xiao Machi (Ai He Town) is a Sancai pottery village art park hidden in Luoning Luoling Township, covering 3,000 acres of wilderness with large-scale earth pottery installations. It’s quiet, scenic, and full of artistic vibes, making it the best lesser-known secret spot near Luoyang for travel photography. Basic Information · Address: Qianhe Village, Luoling Township, Luoning County, Luoyang City · Opening Hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, recommended to enter before 10:00 AM to avoid crowds · Transportation: Drive and navigate to “Ai He Town Scenic Area Parking Lot” (free); by bus Luoyang → Luoning (38 RMB) → taxi (about 30 RMB) 📸 Must-Shoot Spots (in order of shooting) 1. Entrance Jar Lake (Stunning Shots) Nearly ten thousand large pottery jars stacked into a lake, combined with water features. Wide-angle overhead or flat shots work great. The texture of the jars and reflections on the water create a highly artistic effect. 2. Sancai Art Museum (Artistic Atmosphere) Rammed earth walls + Sancai glaze painting “Eight Directions Door Gods,” pottery bowl mural “Universe.” Side lighting is perfect for portraits, giving a vintage yet sophisticated feel. 3. Pottery Jar Pathway (Forest Healing Vibes) A path paved with pottery jars in the valley, flanked by flower seas (spring rapeseed flowers, summer sunflowers, autumn cosmos). Backlit shots highlight hair light, creating a full Japanese-style aesthetic. 4. Viewing Platform (Panoramic Shots) At 300 meters elevation, the platform overlooks the entire town, framing wilderness, pottery art, and flower seas together. Ideal for wide scenic travel photo covers. 5. Kiln Cave Workshop (Cultural Documentary) Pottery experience area with earth kilns and pottery blanks. Capture the making process or pose with the works, blending everyday life warmth with artistic charm. 6. Small River Stream (Fresh Japanese Style) Along the creek trail, with water, pebbles, and greenery. Low-angle upward shots are clean and transparent, perfect for light and airy photos. ✨ Travel Photography Outfits & Props · Outfits: Light-colored cotton and linen, forest-style dresses, vintage denim; avoid flashy patterns. Hanfu or modern Chinese styles also fit well, creating a unique contrast with pottery and rammed earth walls. · Props: Pottery pieces, straw hats, woven bags, fresh flowers to add layers to the composition. ⏰ Best Shooting Times · 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Soft light, translucent skin tones, no harsh shadows. · 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Sunset golden hour, warm light on pottery jars and flower seas, creating an unbeatable atmosphere. · Avoid 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Light is too harsh and prone to overexposure. 🎨 Must-Experience (Bonus for Travel Photography) · Valley Hiking: Stroll along the pottery jar path, shooting as you go to capture moments where nature and art blend. · Small River Restaurant: Try Luoning wild vegetables and shoot pastoral food scenes to enrich your travel photo collection. 💡 Practical Tips · Choose light and simple outfits to contrast with pottery earth tones and greenery for better shots. · Bring mosquito repellent and sunscreen; the wilderness has many insects. · Driving is most convenient; parking is free. Public transport requires ample time. · Allow 3-4 hours for travel photography to explore and shoot leisurely for better results. Ai He Xiao Machi lacks the crowds of popular spots, offering only the tranquility of the wilderness and the poetry of pottery art. Every corner is a natural frame, making it easy to capture exclusive, high-end travel photography masterpieces.

Many people wonder: with ancient-style towns everywhere and Hanfu photo spots on every corner, why choose Luoyang? Unlike cities that rely on stage sets to recreate ancient vibes, Luoyang itself is the eternal "dream factory" of the Chinese heartland. "If you would know the rise and fall of history, look only to the city of Luoyang." Surrounded by the Yi, Luo, Chan, and Jian rivers, and embraced by the Xiao, Xiong'er, and Waifang mountains, this unique landscape has made this land the core heartland of Chinese civilization. From the dawn of civilization in the Xia and Shang dynasties to the rites and music of the Eastern Zhou royal city; from the majesty of the Eastern Han imperial capital to the enduring poetry of the prosperous Sui and Tang dynasties... With the overlapping legacies of thirteen dynasties and thousands of years of cultural heritage, Luoyang stands as an ancient capital steeped in poetry and crowned by history. For thousands of years, countless people have flocked here, breaking free from worldly shackles, transcending predetermined fates, and living out legendary lives that have echoed through the ages. This city is also where Yi Yin dreamed. Born in the countryside and deeply rooted in the pulse of daily life, Yi Yin realized the truth of the "harmony of five flavors" in the Heluo region. He understood the art of governance through the culinary arts, rising from an ordinary cook to a wise minister who helped stabilize the nation with his grounded wisdom. Today, the flavors of Heluo, passed down through generations in the streets and alleys of Luoyang, are the best testament to this enduring philosophy of life. A city that can hold the grand ambitions of emperors ruling the world, yet also fulfill the dreams of ordinary people striving for success—this is Luoyang's most moving quality: it does not define your identity or limit your life. Here, everyone has the possibility to rewrite their own story. When you truly step onto this land, you will understand: all the enduring poems and heavy historical records were never just empty descriptions by the ancients. In Luoyang, you can easily step into the "landscapes" constructed by film and literature, and in the next turn, touch the "daily life" of an ancient capital that has endured for millennia. In Luoyang, you will experience a journey that defies definition—a complete self-healing and transformation. Five character-driven storylines correspond to five distinct journeys through Luoyang, connecting the city's glorious past, cultural heritage, autumn landscapes, deep emotions, and the flavors of daily life. Follow in the footsteps of Wu Zetian, stroll through the Sui and Tang palaces, and immerse yourself in the prosperity of that golden age among the Yingtian Gate, Mingtang, Tiantang, and Jiuzhou Pool, gaining the confidence to take control of your own life; This journey offers the awe of ascending palace towers, the quest to delve into cultural heritage, the healing power of intoxicating autumn colors, and the joy of diving into the pulse of daily life. Everything you see, encounter, feel, and gain on this journey will perfectly resonate with your emotions, life, and state of mind. As for the detailed itinerary, specific activities, exclusive photo spots, and limited-time interactions for this autumn "Dreaming in the Divine Capital" tour of Luoyang, please allow Luoluo to keep you in suspense for now. We will unlock and reveal everything in the coming days.

I did a lot of research before traveling to Luoyang and finally chose Peony Banquet. After eating there, all I want to say is: it was worth it! The soup-based sliced pork (liantang roupian) was definitely the right choice. It arrived in a huge bowl, and the meat slices were super large, smooth, and tender, with a rich broth. The old-school Luoyang tripe hot pot was also great. The tripe is swished in the soup until it's crispy, tender, and springy, then dipped in a bit of chili oil—so fragrant and spicy. The Luoning sour beef was also a surprise; they serve big chunks of beef, and the portions are huge! It's sour, spicy, and delicious. Getting an order of the millet rice cake was also a pleasant surprise. It's refreshing, sweet, and cuts through the grease—perfect for a bite after eating something spicy. This restaurant really deserves its spot on the Luoyang must-eat list. I highly recommend Peony Banquet for Luoyang Water Banquet. It's super convenient to come here for a meal after visiting the Luoyang Museum, Yingtianmen Gate, or Luoyi Ancient City.

Lianbaohe Grand Canyon in Luoyang is a fantastic destination for eco-tourism. The canyon stretches for 8,000 meters and is divided into four sections: Jinji Gorge, Jinguo Gorge, Hongshi Gorge, and Heishi Gorge. Currently, only Jinji Gorge and Jinguo Gorge are open to the public (some areas are too rugged, so for safety reasons, the classic Hongshi Gorge and Heishi Gorge sections remain closed). As you stroll through the canyon, you will see craggy, ink-like cliffs on both sides. At the bottom of the canyon, the water flows like silk. Where the waterfalls tumble, the water is powerful and majestic, while in the swirling deep pools, it is gentle and serene. The Lianbaohe scenic area was previously primarily for adventurous hikers, but infrastructure improvements began in 2020, making it well-suited for eco-tourism. It is located very close to Shangge Town, and autumn visitors can also enjoy the delicious apples from Luoning Shangge, known as the "No. 1 Apple Town in the Central Plains."

Tired of crowded tourist spots? Why not head to Jinshan Temple in Chenwu Township, Luoning, for a stream trekking getaway? Hidden deep in the canyons of Jinmen Mountain, this spot is free from commercial hustle and bustle, requires no admission ticket, and is easily accessible by car. It is a rare, pristine, water-focused hidden gem near Luoyang. Driving along the mountain road into the valley, a clear stream accompanies you the entire way. The spring water of Jinmenjian flows slowly over the rocks, creating a crystal-clear stream where pebbles are visible beneath the surface, interspersed with shallow shoals and small pools of varying depths. The banks are lush with dense trees that provide shade from the sun. Walking into the valley in summer, the heat dissipates instantly. The mountain breeze, carrying water vapor, greets you with a natural, refreshing coolness, making it an excellent place to escape the summer heat. The beauty of stream trekking at Jinshan Temple lies in the relaxed and carefree experience. There is no need for professional equipment; you can simply step onto the flat river stones and wade through the water. Children can catch small fish and collect beautiful pebbles, while adults can find a flat spot on the riverbank to sit quietly, listen to the gurgling water, and watch the swaying tree shadows. There are many open, flat areas along the valley where you can camp and rest, soak fruits and drinks in the mountain spring, enjoy the unique, refreshing chill of the wild, and chat with friends while enjoying a leisurely time away from the city. As you move deeper into the canyon, the scenery unfolds layer by layer. The stream flows gently over stone beaches, then cascades through rock crevices, forming delicate, lively waterfalls. The mountain walls are lush with vegetation, and wild plants grow freely. If you are lucky, you might encounter wild fruits and honeysuckle, experiencing the gifts of nature. Deep in the valley, there are also mountain spring sources where locals come to fetch water, with gurgling spring water gushing from the rocks to nourish the entire valley. This destination is particularly friendly to drivers, as it is accessible by standard family cars, with many spots along the way where you can park nearby and explore at your leisure. Without crowded tour groups, it is mostly frequented by locals and niche outdoor enthusiasts, retaining the most authentic appearance of the wild. It is perfect for a short weekend trip—a one-day round trip is just right to escape the city heat and immerse yourself in nature. The beauty of the wild needs to be protected by all of us. Please pack out all your trash and respect the river valley's ecosystem. When playing in the water, watch out for slippery surfaces, keep a close eye on children, and avoid deep water areas. Come to Jinshan Temple for some stream trekking, step into the cool mountain spring water, listen to the music of the flowing stream, leave your worries in the valley, and experience the simple healing that only nature can provide.

When visiting Luoyang, many travelers want to experience an authentic Luoyang Water Banquet. This restaurant is located right next to Lijing Gate. It's within walking distance after exploring the ancient city, making it very easy for tourists to find. 📍Restaurant: Yiji Luoyang Cuisine · Water Banquet (Shizi Street Branch) 🚩Address: No. 550, Zhongzhou East Road 🚇Transportation: A 460-meter walk from Exit A of Lijing Gate Metro Station, convenient for dining after visiting Lijing Gate and Shizi Street 💡What is a Luoyang Water Banquet: Its main feature is that every dish is served with soup. Almost all 24 dishes include soup, and the flavor is on the sour side, which is appetizing and refreshing in the summer. It's not about exotic delicacies, but about experiencing the traditional local flavors of Luoyang. ✅Must-order recommendations Peony Swallow Vegetable | The signature Water Banquet dish The soul of the Water Banquet. Radishes are carved into the shape of a peony. The soup is fresh and refreshing. Almost every table orders this when having a Water Banquet. Lian Tang Rou Pian (Soup-based Sliced Meat): A representative Water Banquet dish. The meat is tender, and it's sour, spicy, and appetizing. Luoning Sour Beef: Sour, savory, and flavorful. It has a very distinct local character. Yellow River Carp: The fish is fresh, and the sauce is great for mixing with rice. ⚠️ [Tourist tips to avoid pitfalls, a must-read for Trip.com users] The overall flavor of the Water Banquet is on the sour side. If you don't like sour food, tell the server to use less vinegar when ordering. Many tourists aren't used to it and end up disappointed. The portions for Water Banquet dishes are quite large, so don't blindly order a huge table full of food. For 2 people, we recommend ordering 2–3 dishes. Don't order the full set at once, as it's easy to waste food if you can't finish it. The location is near the Shizi Street and Lijing Gate tourist areas, so expect lines during meal times. Try to avoid peak hours from 12:00 PM–1:30 PM and 6:00 PM–7:30 PM. The main ingredient of Peony Swallow Vegetable is actually white radish, not a real peony. Don't have the wrong expectations if it's your first time. Don't blindly order a full table. Most Water Banquet dishes are soup-based, and it's easy to get tired of them if you eat too much. 📝Summary: If you want to experience a Luoyang Water Banquet nearby, it's very convenient to come here after visiting Lijing Gate. If you enjoy sour flavors and order reasonably, you can fully enjoy the unique local cuisine of Luoyang.

Participating in the Chef's Season event this time, being able to return to my hometown and savor familiar cuisine, brought a strange sense of emotion. Although the hotel's Chinese restaurant is not yet open to the public, Chef Yu and his team at the all-day dining restaurant, Guanwen, still presented us with a unique journey through the flavors of Luoyang. Luoyang Peony Swallow's Nest Dish: An appetizer from the Luoyang Water Banquet, white radish is repeatedly steamed and then finely shredded, resembling a bird's nest. The broth is seasoned with aged vinegar and white pepper, resulting in a mellow, refreshing, and appetizing flavor. The dish is presented like a peony blooming in the bowl, paired with Pinot Gris, whose delicate citrus aroma complements the soup's freshness. Steamed Local Reservoir Fish Head with Two-Colored Chopped Chili: Using fresh fish from a local Luoyang reservoir, red and green chopped chili peppers add a dual flavor. The fish is tender and flavorful, with a vibrant spiciness. As a native of Hubei, Chef Yu considers this dish a connection between his hometown and Luoyang. The sweet and sour Riesling balances the spiciness, highlighting the sweetness of the fish. Local Cured Pork Stew with Luanchuan Tofu: The traditional Henan-style cured pork is savory and rich, while the Luanchuan spring-fed tofu has a firm texture and absorbs the pork's aroma during slow stewing. The Burgundy Pinot Noir's soft tannins balance the fat, creating a harmonious blend of fruity and smoky flavors. Luoning Sour Beef: A Luoning intangible cultural heritage dish, presented on the Chef's Season table, this dish combines Chinese and Western cooking methods. The slightly spicy and sour sauce is paired with key ingredients of Luoning sour beef, such as scallion beef. The rich black fruit flavor of Cabernet Sauvignon complements the tangy and spicy taste. Luoyang Steamed Vegetarian Dish: A traditional Heluo dish, this dish combines various seasonal vegetables, steamed to a light and simple flavor that highlights the original taste of the ingredients. The "tossing" presentation adds a touch of ritual. Finally, a peach oolong mousse is topped with roselle powder for a romantic and sweet finish. These dishes will be presented to diners in a more home-style way, and now you can enjoy authentic Luoyang local specialties at Guanwen Restaurant at 10 pm.

Bring the wonderful flavors of Luoyang home with you! 💡Heartwarming Travel Tips💡 1. Prepare two different styles of Hanfu (traditional Han clothing) 👘 An elegant one is suitable for grottoes and ancient temples, while a more glamorous one is suitable for night scene photography, giving you more diverse photo styles. 2. Laojun Mountain has many steps and paths, so be sure to wear soft, non-slip sports shoes 👟 The temperature difference between day and night in the mountains is large, so a light jacket is essential. 3. Try to visit Longmen Grottoes and White Horse Temple in the morning to avoid the midday sun ☀️ and prevent heatstroke. 4. The distance between scenic spots is relatively long, so driving offers flexibility in travel time, without having to worry about bus schedules. 5. Book tickets for popular scenic spots online in advance 🎫 to reduce long queues on-site.

Luoyang Xizi Lake (Guxian Reservoir) is located in Guxian Town, Luoning County. Named after the legend of Fan Li and Xi Shi boating and retiring here, it boasts the beautiful scenery known as the "Lijiang of the North." The lake water is clear and green, surrounded by continuous mountains, combining the gentleness of Jiangnan water towns with the grandeur of western Henan landscapes. It is a hidden gem for niche travel photography, and this guide will help you easily capture atmospheric masterpieces. 1. Preparation Before Travel Transportation: There is no direct public transport to the scenic area. Self-driving is recommended, about a 2-hour drive from Luoyang city center. The road conditions are good throughout, but the last section is a winding mountain road requiring careful driving. Parking fee is 10 RMB/day, very convenient. Tickets: The scenic area is free to enter with no admission barriers, allowing free exploration and photography. Equipment: Use DSLR or mirrorless cameras with wide-angle lenses for panoramas and telephoto lenses for lake close-ups. For phones, enable live photo mode; drones are essential for aerial shots of the water road and lake panorama. Also bring reflectors and fill lights to handle backlight and low-light lakeside scenes. Essentials: Sunscreen, mosquito repellent (many mosquitoes by the lake), comfortable flat shoes (for hiking and scouting spots), and a small amount of drinking water and snacks as lakeside shops are limited. 2. Key Photo Spots & Shooting Tips 1. Water Road: The iconic check-in spot where the road runs through the blue waves. During flood season, the road is slightly submerged, and vehicles splashing water create the illusion of driving on water. The aerial view is most stunning, capturing dynamic shots of moving cars; walk to the roadside for low-angle shots with the lake as background to create a cloud-walking atmosphere. Wearing a light-colored long dress contrasts beautifully with the green lake. 2. Submerged Boardwalk & Mirror of the Sky: When water levels rise in summer, parts of the boardwalk are submerged, and the calm lake surface reflects the blue sky and mountains, creating a natural mirror of the sky. Backlit silhouette shots maximize atmosphere; front-lit shots featuring people and lake together produce clear, fresh images perfect for artistic and refreshing styles. 3. Sunset Lake Surface: The golden hour from 6:00 to 7:00 PM dyes the lake orange-gold with sparkling waves. You can take a boat ride (60 RMB/person) to capture romantic scenes of the sunset with sailboats; standing on the lakeside high ground with distant mountains as background, catch the soft light of the sunset on your body for gentle, healing atmosphere shots. 4. Millennium Ginkgo & Cultural Ruins: In front of the Longquan Temple ruins within the scenic area stands a millennium-old ginkgo tree, lush and leafy. In autumn, golden leaves fill the sky, perfect for ancient-style and forest-themed photos. Combined with ancient buildings like the city moat temple and the legend of Xi Shi, you can shoot Hanfu photos blending natural and cultural charm. 5. Reed Marsh (Autumn Only): In autumn, reeds grow thick by the lake with fluffy seed heads flying. Shoot in the afternoon with front light as sunlight filters through the reeds, creating soft and poetic images, ideal for forest and cool-toned photos. 3. Outfit & Prop Recommendations Style: For a fresh look, choose white or light blue cotton-linen long dresses; for ancient style, wear Hanfu or modern Chinese qipao to match the cultural legends; for casual style, simple solid colors highlight the natural mountain and water vibe. Props: Straw hats, silk scarves, oil-paper umbrellas, transparent small boats add charm to photos and ease shooting awkwardness, making pictures more storytelling. 4. Best Time for Travel Photography Season: Spring and summer feature emerald waters and lush vegetation full of vitality; autumn brings golden reeds and falling ginkgo leaves, maximizing atmosphere; winter occasionally has frost, creating a quiet and elegant cold feeling. Time: Early morning from 6:00 to 8:00 AM with mist over the lake looks like a fairyland; evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM offers soft sunset light and the highest chance of great shots. Avoid strong midday light to prevent overexposure. 5. Practical Tips 1. During flood season, parts of the water road are submerged; an SUV is recommended. Be cautious of footing and stay away from deep water when shooting. 2. Camping is allowed in the scenic area. If you want to shoot starry skies or morning mist, bring your own tent or rent one on site (50 RMB each). Nights by the lake are cold, so bring a jacket. 3. Try local specialties like pickled cabbage stewed silver carp and fried whitebait to experience the fisherman's flavor. 4. Protect the environment by taking your trash with you after shooting to preserve this mountain and water secret spot. Xizi Lake is far from city noise with no crowded crowds. Every corner hides stunning scenery. Whether panoramic landscapes, cultural ancient styles, or sunset atmospheres, you can easily capture satisfying travel photos. Come and freeze this unique romantic charm of western Henan’s mountains and waters!

Spring flowers are in full bloom in Luoyang, a grand relay race lasting from early to late spring. The magnolias on Wangchunmen Street have quietly blossomed, their moon-white flower cups like silk umbrellas just unfurled. The petals are smooth like jade, with edges tinged in a light blush, and the flower centers dotted with goose-yellow, revealing a reserved charm in the crisp air. These are mostly the most impatient Wangchun magnolias, traditionally the first stop for spring seekers in Luoyang. The plum garden at the Sui-Tang City Ruins Botanical Garden is at its peak, with red plums like fire, white plums like snow, and elegant green calyxes, casting sparse shadows and faint fragrances. From March, the peach blossoms of Jingzi Xianshan reflect the Yellow River, apricot flowers in Wulonggou cover the slopes like pink mist, and the cherry blossom avenues at Taikang Road and Luopu Park are vibrant and colorful. Around the spring equinox, rapeseed flowers in Song County, Luoning, and Yiyang spread out like a golden ocean, filling the air with sweet fragrance. In April, peonies take center stage at Wangcheng Park, the China National Flower Garden, the Sui-Tang City Ruins Botanical Garden, and the National Peony Garden, showcasing stunning varieties like “Yao Huang,” “Wei Zi,” “Zhao Fen,” “Dou Lv,” “Er Qiao,” and “Luoyang Hong,” captivating the entire city. At Zhoushan Forest Park, forsythia, magnolia, and cherry blossoms scatter along mountain paths; Xiyuan Park’s cherry and peach blossoms quietly bloom in the bustling city; the magnolias at Longmen Grottoes East Mountain complement the millennium-old stone carvings; and at Luoling Aihe Town and Luhun Lake, rapeseed flowers blend with tricolor glaze and blue skies to paint a grand landscape. Come to Luoyang and start your unique journey!

Everyone knows that Luoyang's peonies are the best in the world, but few are aware that just outside this ancient city lies a secret realm combining majesty and elegance—the Yellow River Xiaolangdi. Unlike the widely renowned Longmen Grottoes or the trendy Lao Jun Mountain, Xiaolangdi captivates with its "high gorge and flat lake" grandeur and the lively rush of "clear flowing waters," making it a treasured spot cherished by those in the know. Among the hidden gems of the Central Plains, the Yellow River Xiaolangdi Water Conservancy Scenic Area is like a pearl preserved by time, nestled between the Taihang and Wangwu Mountains, only a forty-kilometer drive from Luoyang city. It lacks the hustle and bustle of popular tourist spots, leaving only the magnificent fusion of nature and engineering. This special visit revealed the true meaning of a "hidden gem unknown to the world," and the warm hospitality of Luoyue Hotel at night provided a perfect balance of strength and gentleness to end the journey. Setting off from Luoyang early in the morning, the drive along a dedicated route gradually replaces pastoral scenery outside the window with steep gorges. Upon entering the scenic area, the towering South Bank Huanglu Mountain draws attention. From the summit, the 1,667-meter-long Asian earth-rock dam lies like a giant dragon across the main stream of the Yellow River, gently taming the mother river that has surged for thousands of years. During the water and sediment regulation season, the dam’s flood discharge and sediment release tunnels open simultaneously, unleashing Yellow River waters mixed with silt that burst forth like a stampede of thousands of horses, golden scales flashing, white mist rising, and a deafening roar that seems like a grand symphony playing between heaven and earth. The mist refracts brilliant rainbows in the sunlight, contrasting beautifully with the yellow and white swirling waters, resembling a waterfall but surpassing it, vividly embodying the majestic spirit of "Yellow River waters descending from the sky." Walking along the lakeside trail, the reservoir’s thousand islands present a new scene. The once continuous mountain ridges are now surrounded by vast lake waters, transformed into isolated peaks and islets. The clear, mirror-like water reflects the verdant shadows of the remaining Xiaoshan Mountains, earning this place the nickname "Northern Thousand Island Lake." Approaching the Yellow River Three Gorges section, the sheer cliffs of Gushan Gorge, the winding twists of Longfeng Gorge, and the broad openness of Dayu Gorge each offer unique charm. The faint remains of the Sui and Tang dynasty plank roads along the shore add cultural depth to the natural landscape. The riverside corridor beneath your feet, like a green ribbon, connects the scenery on both banks. The rustling poplar trees in the breeze echo the distant roar of waves, immersing visitors in a landscape that combines the peril of the Three Gorges with the beauty of the Li River. As dusk falls, reluctantly bidding farewell to Xiaolangdi, the drive back to Luoyang begins. The hotel’s location is ingenious, situated at the intersection of Longmen Avenue and Anshi Road in Luolong District, with its own parking lot. A short walk from the car brings you to Luoyue Hotel. Upon entering, the warm welcome at the front desk instantly dispels travel fatigue. The efficient check-in process eliminates long waits, and the door lock design adds a sense of security. Stepping into the guest room, the spacious and bright area is refreshing, with tidy furnishings exuding warmth. The zero-pressure bedding is soft and skin-friendly, silently inviting travelers to rest. The thoughtful dry and wet separation in the bathroom, with 24-hour hot water, washes away the dust and fatigue from hiking and water adventures. Standing by the window, the night view of Luolong District unfolds below, with city lights blending with distant urban outlines. When hunger strikes, local delicacies like Luoyang Water Banquet and mutton soup are just downstairs, or you can shop for specialties at nearby supermarkets—extremely convenient. For relaxation, the hotel gym is equipped with brand-new equipment. The biggest surprise is the large projector in the room; playing a Yellow River scenic documentary brings the daytime grandeur of Xiaolangdi back to life in light and shadow, leaving a lasting impression. Falling asleep to the city’s tranquility, dreams are filled with the Yellow River’s surging majesty and the Thousand Island Lake’s beauty. The spectacular Yellow River Xiaolangdi is a dual gift of nature’s power and human wisdom; the comfort of Luoyue Hotel is the warmest solace on the journey. This trip of "daytime scenic grandeur, nighttime restful comfort" perfectly blends the charm of a hidden gem with the ease of urban accommodation, creating an unforgettable memory of the Central Plains.

You’ll see the most authentic folk celebrations!🎉 ⚠️ Pitfall Guide: ❌ Don’t buy "nationwide standardized" souvenirs on the main street; the crafts from old artisans in side alleys are more authentic. ❌ Some roads inside the town are stone-paved; wear comfortable flat shoes. ✅ Best seasons: Spring and autumn (April-May, September-October), pleasant weather and best for photos. ❤️ 4. Travel Reflection: Why We Love Ancient Towns "Walking in Shedian, I suddenly understood — what we seek is not just blue bricks and gray tiles, but that unhurried sense of time. Here, elders play chess under the gatehouse, children chase in the alleys, smoke rises on schedule… It reminds us: life can be simple and solid." Info Card: 📍 Address: Shedian Town, Sheqi County, Nanyang City, Henan Province 🚗 Transportation: Recommended to drive; or take high-speed rail to Nanyang East Station, then bus/taxi about 1 hour. 💰 Cost Reference: 200-400 RMB per day per person (excluding major transport). 📅 Suggested Visit: 1-2 days. Finally, a quote for you: "True scenery is not in crowded lists, but in the steps you are willing to slow down for. Shedian is worth a special trip." 🌿
