Located in Mishima-cho, Onuma-gun, Fukushima Prefecture, the First Tadami River Bridge Viewpoint is the most famous and representative photography spot along the JR Tadami Line. The stunning view of trains passing under the arched bridge and reflected on the calm surface of the Tadami River attracts countless photographers and railway enthusiasts from around the world. 🚩Main Features and Viewpoints 📍The observation deck base is located next to "Michi no Eki Ose Kaido Mishima-juku". Walking along the path to the summit, there are three observation points at different heights: B, C, and D (Point A is a flat path next to Miichi no Eki). 📍Point B (near the path entrance): Closest to the starting point, with a gentler slope, suitable for those with limited time or who cannot easily hike. 📍Location C (Mid-level Observation Deck): Offers a wide field of view and an excellent angle for capturing the symmetrical reflections of the bridge and river (water mirror). 📍Location D (Highest Observation Deck): Approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the trailhead. This location offers the highest elevation and the most expansive views, encompassing the first Tadami River Bridge, magnificent valley scenery, and the distant Tadami River meandering stream. 🚩Highlights of the Four Seasons Spring: New green leaves accompany wild cherry blossoms, showcasing vibrant mountain colors. I encountered the most beautiful winter in a tiny Japanese-style inn with only 11 rooms. ❄️ I'd often heard of Kanayama-cho because of the Tadami Line. Photography enthusiasts often talk about this stunning local railway line in Japan. It passes through this little-known village. The village is situated by the river and still retains traces of old Japan. Sometimes, it feels like stepping back in time. ♨️ This time, I stayed at a small and cozy Japanese-style inn in Kanayama-cho—Ebisu-ya. The open-air hot spring bath is by the river and is a rare find—100% natural carbonated spring. Although the pool isn't as grand as some inn's swimming pools, it wasn't crowded, and gazing at the snow-capped river was incredibly pleasant. 🥢 The cuisine is mostly local specialties. ✨ There are several other unique hot spring resorts nearby, and it's not far from the often misty Kirigen-kyo Gorge. If you want to see fluffy snow, It might be the end of January. Use the JR East pass. It's super worth it for those who are going to Tohoku. #How to get there 1. Tokyo > Koriyama 80 minutes 2. Koriyama > Aizu-Wakamatsu (JR Ban-etsu-West Line) 80 minutes ________ You should stay 1 night___________ 3. Aizu-Wakamatsu > Aizu-Kawaguchi (JR Tadami Line) 2 hours. You should leave early in the morning. 4. Aizu-Kawaguchi > Aizu-Miyashita (JR Tadami Line) Arrive at 1 pm to reach the viewpoint of the train that will pass by at 2 pm. 5. On the way back, Aizu-Miyashita > Aizu-Wakamatsu Note: We didn't make it in time, so there are no pictures of the train running.>< If you want beautiful pictures, you have to allow plenty of time because the train only runs a few times a day. If you don't make it in time, you can walk around the small villages around there.
