Zimbabwe Chimanimani National Park Mossy Bridal Veil Foresteasytravelpost #ChimanimaniNP #BridalVei
#easytravelpost Chimanimani NP (formerly Chimanimani Mountains NP) sits on the Mozambique border above Chimanimani town (Manicaland). From Mutare, bus to Chimanimani (3 hrs, 5 USD), then taxi to the trailhead at Mutekeswane (20 USD share), park entry 15 USD non-resident/day via ZimParks, mandatory guide 30 USD/day from the Chimanimani village association. Bridal Veil Falls is 4 km from the trailhead, the mossy forest lines the Ndagindi Gorge.
I took Mutare→Chimanimani bus (5 USD), taxi to Mutekeswane (20 USD), paid 15 USD at 07:20, walked in with a 30 USD guide. The moss is the mist forest: Syzygium cordatum and Ocotea with Thuidium on the gorge rocks 2 cm thick, 11°C in August, a Swynnerton's robin (Chimanimani endemic), Bridal Veil Falls 50 m dropping through spray that wets the moss black-green. I sat at the fall's base 08:30, moss on the fallen Pterocarpus log silver with drip, ate a 10 ZIG Chimanimani pie, watched a samango monkey leap the gorge.
Mistake: I came in Jan — gorge ankle-deep, leeches, Bridal Veil reduced to a trickle by drought actually no, Jan is wet but fog 100%; Jun–Aug dawn. Another: the 15 USD ZimParks fee is USD cash, ZiG not accepted at the gate despite local shops taking ZiG. Would you bus 5 USD + 15 USD entry + 30 USD guide for the Chimanimani→Bridal Veil mossy gorge walk, or skip the falls and do the higher Skeleton Pass ridge for the grassland moss instead?
Zimbabwe is a vibrant country so resilient in it's hardship without compromising it's nature on tour sites. The captivating beauty and diversity of it's landscape is beyond measure, the spectator on a tour is always in awe from one end to another.#travel #naturalwonders #familytravel #thingstodo #zimbabwe #victoriafalls #vumba #bvumbamountains #harare #samlevy #leopardrockhotel #birchenoughbridge #escapetoadventuresafaris #lakemutirikwi #lakekyle #victoriafallsadventure #victoriafallsairport #harareinternationalairport

Mutare Museum is a museum in Mutare, Zimbabwe. It is one of the four national museums of Zimbabwe. Are you a lover of history and vintage cars? Then visit no other than Mutare museum. More animals, including birds, snakes, fish, mammals and fish are on show. There is a geology tunnel, great! Takes you into tribal history and life, some as it occurs in the rural areas to this day. Its a fantastic and interactive hall. Don't forget the living Bee Hive with glass sides. Then to THE most amazing collection of weapons you will see in Zimbabwe.I recommend this place
