For this trip to Stockholm, what I was looking forward to the most was truly experiencing the waterfront lifestyle, so I chose the Elite Hotel Marina Tower as my base. Anyone who has been to Nacka knows that many hotels in the city look exactly the same, but this one faces the sea, connects to the city center, and is located near the Saltsjöqvarn mill and the pier. Being able to take in the ocean views and the sparkling pier at night every day really gives you that laid-back European vibe. The hotel is incredibly well-located. It's just a few steps away from the ferry terminal, where you can hop on a ferry for a few stops and head straight downtown for some shopping. It saves you the hassle of driving and makes your itinerary super flexible. Even on rainy days (like when I snapped those moody, rain-kissed cityscapes at dusk), sitting in the classic Western-style lobby while gazing out at the pier and the city skyline across the water is incredibly therapeutic. The rooms are surprisingly spacious by Nordic standards, and the facilities are absolutely flawless. Aside from all the essentials, there's a massive spa jacuzzi you can head down to at night. It's the ultimate relaxation—soaking in the water while listening to the rain outside, with hardly anyone else around. It's just pure chill. The gym and leisure facilities are also top-notch. If you feel like having a lazy day indoors, just hanging out at the hotel is rewarding enough. The spa does cost extra, but the wellness center is world-class, making it highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind completely. Breakfast here is an absolute must! The food quality is insanely good. Not only is there a huge variety, but the cold cut platters are incredibly delicious. Plus, the restaurant has spacious seating, which instantly puts you in a great mood. Enjoying breakfast bright and early while overlooking the sea is just pure bliss. Pro tips: The hotel gets fully booked very quickly during peak seasons, so I highly recommend booking in advance. Also, while the ferry is super convenient, the schedule can be a bit sparse at times, so be sure to check the timetable beforehand. Many of the amenities (especially the spa) require advance booking and incur extra charges, so make sure to ask about this when you check in. Nacka itself is actually very quiet at night, making it perfect for embracing the slow life and taking in the waterfront nightscape. Last sunday, I joined the local hiking group to go for a hike in Hellasgården. The weather is so perfect and comfortable for hike. The colour of autumn is so gorgeous. If you want to spend some time in the nature, I highly recommend to visit this place.
