Locals still live there. In the morning, vendors push tricycles selling tofu pudding for 5 yuan a bowl—salty, fragrant, and silky. The city isn’t big; it takes about half an hour to walk from south to north gate, but the alleys hide many treasures. The rockery in Ouyuan Garden dates back to the Ming dynasty, covered in moss and cool to the touch. The church and mosque face each other across the street, peacefully coexisting. In the afternoon, visit Zhaode Ancient Street where fewer people gather. #February Good Places 2026 On the way from Sheep Lake to Karola Glacier, thanks to the charter master leading the way, we avoided the crowded large observation deck and drove directly down to the low side of the lake. This is the place to really feel the tranquility of the Holy Lake! ✨ 🌊 You can see Sheep Lake up close Lake Stroll: When you get down to the lake, your footsteps are finally no longer floating. At first sight of that deep blue, it really makes it all worth it. 💙 But… comes that “footsteps floating” feeling. "Tiffany Blue" lake water: Sheep Lake is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Under the sunlight, the lake surface presents several different layers of blue. 💎 The test of 4400 meters: When I got off the car from the observation deck, I really felt light all over my body. Every step felt like stepping on cotton, and the heart beat “thumping”. (If you feel this feeling, remember to slow down, don't be in a hurry)💓 Must-have photos: In addition to taking pictures with Sheep Lake, there are also many beautifully dressed Tibetan mastiffs and lambs to take pictures (remember to ask for prices first!📸).
