#nepaltrip Mount Everest (Sagarmatha / Chomolungma) isn’t just the tallest mountain on Earth — it’s a symbol of human challenge, spiritual grandeur, and natural wonder. Whether you aim to summit or simply reach Everest Base Camp (EBC), standing beneath this colossal peak is a humbling, once-in-a-lifetime experience. 📍 Address: Solukhumbu District, Sagarmatha National Park, Eastern Nepal 🕰️ Best Time to Visit: March – May and late September – November (clear skies and dry trails) 🛬 How to Get There: From Kathmandu: · Fly to Lukla (30–40 mins), then trek ~12 days roundtrip to EBC Alternative: Take the longer Jiri route (adds 5–7 days) for gradual acclimatization 🌿 What to Do on the Everest Trek: · 🥾 Everest Base Camp (5,364m): Stand at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall and feel the icy breath of Everest. · 🏔️ Kala Patthar (5,545m): The best viewpoint of Everest — sunrise is absolutely unforgettable. · 🏞️ Sagarmatha National Park: Hike through rhododendron forests, roaring rivers, and yak pastures. · 🙏 Visit Tengboche Monastery: Spiritual center of the Khumbu, with Everest towering behind it. · 🏘️ Stay in Sherpa Villages: Learn about the rich culture in Namche Bazaar, Pangboche, and Dingboche. 🌟 Tips: · 🩺 Acclimatize properly — follow the “climb high, sleep low” rule. · 💵 Budget around $30–40/day for food + lodges. Some trips are about relaxing. Others are about testing yourself. The Everest Base Camp trek is exactly that kind of journey. 📍 Kathmandu → Lukla It all starts with a flight on a tiny plane from Kathmandu to Lukla. Tenzing-Hillary Airport is considered one of the most extreme in the world: a short runway on a mountainside, surrounded by the Himalayas. Adrenaline guaranteed before the trek even begins! From here on, it's only on foot. 📍 Namche Bazaar The Sherpa capital and the gateway to Everest. A colorful town clinging to the mountainside at about 3,440 meters: cafés, gear shops, prayer flags and your first views of snow-capped peaks. This is where you take an acclimatization day, and you really need it. 📍 Higher every day From here, the route climbs higher and higher: suspension bridges over gorges, Buddhist monasteries, stupas, yaks on the trail and breathtaking mountains. The air gets thinner, your steps get slower, but every new bend in the trail looks like a postcard. 📍 Gokyo and the Cho La Pass We passed through Gokyo, with its turquoise high-altitude lakes whose color you just can't look away from, and then crossed the Cho La Pass at about 5,420 meters. It's one of the toughest and at the same time most beautiful days of the trek. 📍 Kala Patthar (5,645 m) and Everest Base Camp The highlight of the journey. The climb up Kala Patthar is the highest point of our route, with the best view of Everest. You're standing at 5,645 meters, it's windy, cold and hard to breathe, and right in front of you is the highest mountain in the world. A moment you'll never forget. 📍 Back to Namche Bazaar After Base Camp, the descent begins, and every day it gets easier to breathe. And when you reach Namche Bazaar again, it feels like you've arrived at a five-star resort 😄 Civilization is back: hot showers, delicious food, cozy cafés with real coffee and a warm, soft bed. After days at high altitude, these simple pleasures feel like true luxury. 🏠 Life in the lodges We stayed in mountain lodges: simple rooms, a shared dining room with a stove, hot ginger tea and dal bhat, the trekkers' signature meal. In the evenings, everyone gathers around the fire and shares stories from all over the world. There's a special kind of magic in this simplicity. Tips: ✔️ Don't rush: acclimatization matters more than speed. Drink plenty of water and listen to your body. ✔️ Pack warm clothes: nights at altitude are very cold. ✔️ Bring cash: there are almost no ATMs above Namche. ✔️ Be prepared for weather delays on flights to Lukla, and plan a spare day. This isn't just a hike. It's a journey you come back from as a different person 🏔🤍 #Nepal #EverestBaseCamp #EBC #Himalayas #Trekking #Gokyo #ChoLaPass #KalaPatthar #NamcheBazaar #Lukla #MountEverest #Adventure #HikingTrip #Непал #尼泊尔

I run a tour company in the U.S. specializing in hiking trips worldwide. In April 2025, I hired Pasang and his team to guide our Everest Base Camp trek. Our group of seven was accompanied by Pasang, Prashant, and Ang Dawa. The level of care we received from Pasang and his team is hard to put into words. Throughout the trek, we felt like family—safe, welcomed, and thoroughly cared for. A highlight was visiting the Sherpa Museum in Namche Bazaar with Pasang, hearing childhood stories, and seeing his father's portrait in the museum. I can't imagine trekking in Nepal with anyone else and will absolutely hire Pasang again. Thank you, Pasang—I can’t wait for our next adventure!

This is Day 3 of the typical EBC hike where you have a relatively easy acclimatization hike to the EVEREST Viewpoint from Namche Market. Today is where you have a glimpse of the tallest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. There’s a cafe at the viewpoint where you can order drinks and enjoy the amazing view.

Here’s a wild ride: I set off on a 21-day Everest Base Camp & 3 High Pass adventure, crossing through Namche, Solukhumbu, and scenic Himalayan villages. The highlights? Jaw-dropping mountain vibes start from the moment you land in Lukla, and by Day 3, you get a dazzling sneak peek at Mt Everest herself! 🏔️ Top Spots to Explore: · Everest View Point: QPV8+C97, Lukla - Everest Base Camp Trekking Route, Namche 56000. Year-round, all-day access. The perfect sunrise or sunset spot—watch peaks burst through clouds! · Chukhung Ri: WVGH+HJM, Khumjung 56000. Open all day. This one’s a must for hikers—a steady trek, but you get 360° Himalayan panoramas. If the weather flips (snowstorms pop up fast!), listen to your guide and reroute if needed. · Lobuche: WRX6+64V, Khumjung 56000. Hours: 06:30–21:00. Situated on rugged terrain, and often your last stop before EBC—great pit stop but pace yourself, the altitude kicks in here! Travel Hack: Don’t underestimate weather—on my trip, heavy snow forced us to turn back instead of crossing the pass to Lobuche. Guides are gold for route changes! And if you feel off or get sick (like my wife did with food poisoning—oxygen dropped to 40%!), helicopter evacuations to Lukla are a real, safe option, which we did. Hence, buying travel insurance with evacuation plans are important. Getting Around: Most of this trek is on foot; pack light, stay hydrated, and go slow on ascent days to avoid altitude sickness. Food: Stick to simple, hygienic meals (dal bhat is a staple), and avoid uncooked foods to keep your stomach safe. Key Tips: Take the window seats on the left side for your flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, that’s where you have great views of the mountains. Cash is king—ATMs are rare and you have to pay for water, charging your phone and power bank etc by cash. Layer clothes for all weathers: sun, rain, and snow can all hit in one day! #NepalTrails #EBCAdventure #HimalayanHikes #AltitudeReady

Namche Bazaar, the central village for Everest trekking, sits at approximately 3,440 meters above sea level. It boasts a vibrant atmosphere, earning it the nickname "Capital of the Himalayas." Small, circular terraced villages nestled on the mountainside create a unique landscape. More importantly, Namche Bazaar serves as a crucial base camp for acclimatization. #holidayseason 1 morning climb to Everest view point at an altitude of 3880m, where you can see Everest... then return to rest and shop. This is also a test of altitude for those who have never climbed above 3000m. Altitude sickness is almost the biggest obstacle for those who come to this EBC trekking route, besides health and cost. Starting a bit late, the slope to the top seemed easy but was too difficult. But the scenery that appeared was wonderful. On the right side was the majestic snow-covered mountain peak, on the left was Kongde Ri peak, below was Namche town. But then that beautiful scenery did not last long, the sky began to get foggy, clouds rolled in, blocking the view and bringing a shivering cold. The first days, if you only felt the cold in the early morning and late afternoon, when standing still. But today, the cold seeped through each layer of clothes, making you shiver. Note: You should bring warm gloves and socks. Especially windproof and waterproof gloves. The path along the edge of the cliff is dangerous, you don't have to give way to yaks, donkeys... today, there are mainly the sounds of trekkers greeting each other. Everyone is a bit excited, mixed with anxiety when looking up into the distance, Everest disappears behind the thick fog. And what comes will come, the view point located in the Everest View Hotel is covered in fog even though it is noon, the temperature is only about 1 degree Celsius. This hotel is 3880 meters high, has rooms and balconies, warm rooms to be able to look straight at the top of Everest, so it attracts many visitors to climb here. However, the best time to see Everest from here is around 8am, when the sun has just risen and the sky is clearer. For those who are not healthy enough or in good condition to climb Everest Base Camp, they can book helicopter tours to fly up here to drink coffee and watch Everest and then return.
