Getting There - There are multiple ways in getting to Newark International Liberty Airport such as taking the airport shuttle or ride shares. Food & Restaurants - There are quite a variety of restaurants and fast food options in Terminal C which is newly renovated. Shopping - There are also duty free shops where you can grab a few items before boarding the plane. Newark International Liberty Airport is slightly less busy as compared to New York LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport. Navigating through the different terminals in Newark Airport is really hassle-free and easy to do so. You can either take the air trains or shuttle buses within the airport. Very satisfactory stay in Holiday Inn Newark hotel. The staff are friendly though they gave me the wrong hotel cards initially so I had to go down to the lobby to have it swapped. But overall the stay was good and the complimentary shuttle service to the airport was perfect. It made our journey to the airport so fuss free. 📍United Airlines Flight UA87, Shanghai Pudong (PVG) to Newark Liberty (EWR). This was my first time to the U.S, and first time in business class. Overall it was a good experience, they offered champagne as a welcoming drink; had a special kit for the flight that had eye covers for sleep, a dental kit and many more amenities. The seat was very comfortable and the ambience was amazing. However, one of the flight attendants was quite rude from the get go.. Would I fly Polaris again? Probably, but they need some improvements. Most importantly the food, as it was below par for the price tag of $1391. #givethanks #unforgettableexperiences

Arrived from Newark and took the Express Bus for $27 to Grand Central, then walked 5 minutes to the hotel. Taking your bags on the subway might save you a bit, but the bus is much more comfortable. Check-in was excellent. The room is definitely compact but offers plenty of hot water and a nice city view. It was clean and serviced daily. The area is quiet, with a small convenience store on the corner. Utopia Bagels is just a couple of blocks away. The bed was very comfy, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Free tea and coffee available until 10 a.m. Highly recommend and would gladly stay again.

New York City, my dream city, was finally here. After graduating from high school and getting a decent amount of time off, I decided to take the plunge and go on a solo trip! While I was excited about the freedom of wandering the city, I also had many anxieties and questions unique to solo travel. So, this time, I'll share a concise summary of "practical knowledge you should know before you go" and "recommended spots you absolutely must visit even if you're traveling alone," based on my actual experience. This time, I flew in from Vancouver! Things you should know beforehand: ① ESTA application is essential! It's absolutely necessary for entering the United States, so don't forget. (※Be careful of fake and scam websites! It's safest and recommended to go to the official page via the external link on Wikipedia.) ② Winter in NYC is extremely cold. I went in February, and a blizzard hit directly—it was colder than anything I'd ever experienced... (I completely underestimated it and almost gave up 😭). If you're going in winter, make sure you're fully prepared for the cold! ③ Research airport access in advance I used Newark Airport on my return trip, and the bus from in front of Grand Central Station in Manhattan cost a whopping $30 one way! I didn't know how to use the train, so I had no choice but to use it, but it might have been cheaper to use Uber Share or something similar 😭 (However, the Manhattan cityscape I saw on the way to the airport was absolutely beautiful!). Also, the security check at the airport took an incredibly long time. Now, places you absolutely must visit! ① Just walk around Manhattan Just walking around surrounded by the overwhelming skyscrapers, which are so different from Tokyo, makes you feel like the protagonist of a movie ☺️ I recommend the J.P. Morgan Tower at 270 Park Avenue! ② Keens Steakhouse A well-known, long-established steakhouse. The prime rib I ate here was absolutely delicious! The price was within my expectations and I was very satisfied ☺️ However, NYC has very strict rules regarding alcohol sales, and when I tried to order a beer, I was refused after they checked my passport for age verification...😭 ③ Katz's Delicatessen Sandwiches Authentic American sandwiches with juicy brisket (beef) piled high. Of course, it was delicious 😋 (※It's quite filling, so it's best to go on an empty stomach!). ④ A great cafe I found around Soho: Ludlow Coffee Supply I stumbled upon this cafe while walking around Soho and it was fantastic. Everyone was locking in at the cafe, and it was so cool. Summary In conclusion My first solo trip, and my long-awaited visit to New York, was an unforgettable trip filled with surprises, a few troubles, and, more than anything,感動 (deep emotion). A practical guide to getting from New York NEWARK Airport (ERW) to Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ)! ✈️🍁 July 23rd YTZ Airport is located in downtown Toronto and is one of the two major commercial airports in Toronto, making it great for those who want quick, easy access to and from the city center! The airport is small and the runway section can only accommodate small commercial aircraft, usually mainly used by the two major airlines Air Canada and Porter. Airport Address: Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, Toronto, ON M5V 1A1, Canada Newark Airport (ERW), on the other hand, is one of New York’s three major international commercial airports, located a bit further than LaGuardia (LGA), but easily connected. This is where I go from here! The easiest way to get to the airport is to take the subway or bus from the city to PEN Station and transfer to New Jersey Transit (NJT). PEN Station is super large and is a hub for many lines and transportation, remember that you have to buy a new ticket out of the gate for subway transfer, which costs about USD 17. After exiting the gate, do not go up the road, follow the NJT signs to a hall, then go to the other side of the hall to the right, take the escalator upstairs to see the NJT ticket office. After buying your airport ticket, check the TV screen which Track to board your train with, however note that the screen does not show the name of the airport directly because it is only via ERW. You don't have to sit in the opposite position to get on the bus. The ticket clerk will check the ticket. The journey takes about 20 minutes to get off at EWR station. You have to use a machine to check the ticket. Then transfer to the free Air Train to three different terminals, I took the Porter at Terminal B. After arriving, check in and go directly through the security check into the terminal. There is generally no border or customs inquiries when leaving the United States. Porter airlines allow carry-on baggage for ground staff into the luggage compartment before boarding because the Overhead locker on Porter small planes is really small! Porter only has two models, all small planes, one larger one also has high-speed WiFi (free!), unfortunately I did not sit this time. You will be given a free pack of nuts and beer drinks on the way to the plane – cool! After landing at YTZ to be a Canadian border guard entry, basically the whole process is automatic machine operation, entering personal information and answering basic questions. If you have peers remember to add the names of friends and family, no need to repeat the entry. At the end of the machine, a long strip of black and white photo paper will be printed, held to officials, and allowed to be collected back into the country without any problems. There is no need to take a boat to the terminal out of this airport (since the terminal and runway are on a small island) and you can just set foot on the city shore via the underpass (about 7-8 minutes). You can take a taxi outside, or walk 5 minutes to take the bus. Ladies!! July in New York is absolutely amazing🎆 This summer in New York perfectly coincided with a huge year—the 250th anniversary of the United States, the World Cup final, and the 50th anniversary of the Macy’s fireworks show. The whole city was insanely lively, with celebrations everywhere on the streets. I had an absolute blast‼️ First, how to get from the airport to the city🚕 Newark Airport (EWR) is the closest to Manhattan. Taking the AirTrain and transferring to the NJ Transit train to Penn Station costs only $17 and takes 30 minutes. From JFK Airport, take the AirTrain and transfer to the E subway line to Midtown, which takes just over an hour and costs $11.15. LaGuardia has no direct subway access; you can take the Q70 bus to transfer to the subway or take an Uber, which costs about $35–60 depending on traffic. I personally found Newark the most hassle-free👌 🏨The place I stayed this time 📍Located in West Village near the Hudson River side. The window view overlooks the Hudson River and the New Jersey skyline across the water. At sunset, the whole river turns golden🌅 📍It’s a one-bedroom with a terrace facing west. Fireworks launched simultaneously from both the East River and Hudson River sides. Official recommended viewing spots include Brooklyn Bridge Park, the East River waterfront walkway, and Hudson River Park. I arrived two hours early at Brooklyn Bridge Park and secured a spot facing Midtown Manhattan. When the fireworks exploded between the Empire State Building and One Vanderbilt, tens of thousands around me screamed at the same time. The shock was beyond words😭😭😭 ⚠️Key point: The subway runs until 2 AM that night, but with the huge crowd leaving, walking back across the bridge to Manhattan is actually faster July 19 | World Cup final day This year’s World Cup final was held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, right next to New York🏆 No tickets for the game? No problem! Central Park’s Great Lawn hosted the city’s largest public viewing party with three huge LED screens streaming the match. There was a DJ warming up the crowd and local New York food stalls. About 50,000 people watched the game together⚽ Times Square and the Hudson River waterfront also had giant viewing screens, creating an incredible atmosphere. I chose Central Park, and the feeling of cheering with tens of thousands of people is unforgettable Brooklyn deep walk route🚶‍♀️ Day 1: Williamsburg → Bushwick → Prospect Park Bedford Ave in Williamsburg is the hub for New York’s artsy youth, full of vintage shops, vinyl record stores, and independent designer studios🎨 The weekend Smorgasburg outdoor food market runs from April to October with over 70 stalls. Walking here in the evening with the river breeze is incredibly relaxing Continue south to Red Hook, a hidden gem neighborhood often overlooked by tourists⚓ It has New York’s best Italian handmade ice cream shop, Steve’s Authentic Key Lime Pie, and an IKEA built inside an old warehouse—yes, the only IKEA in New York is in Red Hook, and it’s the smallest IKEA in the world, very quirky and photogenic Metropolitan Museum deep visit guide🏛️ Tickets are $30.
