Its Romanesque exterior is beautiful, but the real magic is inside—the frescoed dome is breathtaking and completely worth lingering over. Just next door, the Baptistery of Parma is equally striking with its pink Verona marble. From there, I wandered toward the Palazzo della Pilotta, a vast complex full of history, art, and culture. Even just walking around its grounds gives you a sense of Parma’s quiet grandeur. Of course, no trip to Parma is complete without indulging in its food scene. Slow relaxing chill day in Parma! There are no much in Parma, I have been to a park and walked around the city. In the park, there is a small pond with ducks and birds around everywhere, see how nature is doing and slow down your pace, have a mind break during weekend. Walk across the bride seeing the great sunshine and blue sky, going into alley you will see some beautiful Italian culture decoration, go future into the city, visit the duomo, every duomo in Italy have its own history, visit all of them to understand the development of Italy.

It is the weekend in which the Italian F1 fans celebrate the 100 years of Monza. I was supposed to go there to celebrate with other Ferrari fans and to pray that the team does not screw up the race again with all kinds of technical failures. Alas, being unable to beat the zeal, fervor and passion of the fans, I could not secure any tickets in time to indulge in this grand occasion. I would not be there physically but definitely in spirit. The gathering of Tifosi in Lombardy definitely spiked up the price of accommodation in Milan. Long story short, I ended up in Parma, tasting the best cheese (parmigiano reggiano) and enjoying melon with prosciutto crudo (Parma ham). And a visit would be incomplete without including the admiration of Correggio’s paintings in your itinerary. Wanting to enjoy free entrance, we only entered Parma Cathedral and San Giovanni Evangelista. Parma is the perfect weekend getaway. It’s not too far away from Milan on the train. A city that’s beautiful to explore but more importantly, you can’t leave without trying the world-renowned cheese and ham! Bonus points if you manage to score some Culatello di Zibello, a specially cured meat with the a Protected Designated of Origin. It is only processed during the colder months and is aged for at least 10 months to an average of 14 months. The result? A mild, sweet and delicate flavor that you just can’t get enough of! I can’t wait to be back just so that I can get a tray of this. The cathedral is covered with exquisite murals, and the golden organ in the church is very eye-catching. In several corners of the city center of Parma, pianos are placed for people to play freely. The melodious music can be heard from time to time, making the town more lively and full of vitality. In the central square of Parma 🇮🇹, Italy, there is a very delicate classical sundial on the clock tower. The sundial is an ancient clock that indicates time based on the shadow cast by the position of the sun☀️☀️. I looked at it for a long time but still couldn't understand why the sundial was one hour slower than the clock on the clock tower 😁. It turned out that in Italy, the time of that visit was during daylight saving time (in order to make use of more daylight, people moved the clock forward one hour, thus turning it into daylight saving time). We spent 12 days in August at this boutique hotel in Mauritius. To summarize in one word: PERFECT. Even searching for flaws, I could not find a single issue worth commenting on. Truly deserving of its five-star luxury status. · *Location and Services:** Situated on one of the island's most stunning beaches, it’s meticulously maintained, cleaned every morning, and, most importantly, offers peace and top-notch services like loungers, umbrellas, a bar, and a restaurant. The hotel itself is visually stunning, offering five-star luxury-level amenities: a Valmont Spa, gym with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment (including two spinning bikes which were perfect for me), tennis and padel courts, as well as water activities like water skiing and sailing lessons—all provided at an indisputably high level. · *Food & Beverage:** As an Italian accustomed to fine gastronomy, being able to use the term EXTRAORDINARY for the three resort restaurants’ offerings is saying a lot. Another star of the show, of course, was Bologna's most famous Tagliatelle al Ragù. From the very beginning, our tour guide kept emphasizing that we should forget our usual stereotypes about spaghetti bolognese, because you'll almost never see "Spaghetti Bolognese" in Bologna. The truly traditional version is handmade fettuccine served with slow-cooked Ragù. Honestly, although I often eat spaghetti bolognese and it does taste great, I personally couldn't really tell a huge difference between it and a typical high-quality spaghetti bolognese. 😂 The most commendable aspect of the entire trip was our tour guide. She didn't just read from a script; instead, she chatted with everyone, asked questions, joked around, and created a very relaxed atmosphere. She also shared a lot of food culture knowledge that only locals know, such as how to distinguish genuine Parmigiano Reggiano, why Bolognese people don't use the name "Bolognese," and how to pair different wines with different foods. Even though the group members came from different countries, everyone chatted naturally, and the interaction was truly high. Besides eating, the Food Tour also took us through the streets and alleys of Bologna. Compared to Rome and Venice, there are far fewer tourists here, making it feel more authentic and lived-in. On June 3rd, we arrived at the hotel around 1:00 PM to check in, only to discover in absolute panic that we had left our three passports and a significant amount of cash in the room safe at our previous hotel, Starhotels Du Parc in Parma. While I was at the reception desk calling the previous hotel to confirm our belongings were there, the Concierge Manager at Room Mate Giulia, Mr. Andre, stepped in. Seeing our distress, he immediately took charge and provided an incredible solution to ensure everything was safely retrieved from Parma and brought back to Milan. Thanks to his swift action and professionalism, all of our irreplaceable items were safely returned to us by 8:00 PM that same day. Every single staff member at Room Mate Giulia is incredibly friendly, always wearing warm smiles, and genuinely willing to go the extra mile to solve problems that aren't even their responsibility. We are profoundly grateful for their extraordinary help, especially Mr. Andre. They turned a potential travel nightmare into an unforgettable display of hospitality. We cannot thank you enough!

The next stop in our journey took us to Parma, we visited a cafe over the road. The toilet wasn’t pleasant by any means and no toilet roll, there were no females in this cafe. The drinks were 3 euro each which seem to be the going rate. We only went here as we had no money and the train station charge euros to use it.

We took the train from Bologna (~€10) and the moment we stepped out, Parma smelled like butter, cheese, and something warm you can’t quite name. The streets glowed in autumn light, calm and golden. 🌾 🎵 Visit the Teatro Regio di Parma (€15) — old chandeliers, red velvet seats, pure Italian drama.
