The Rising Waters exhibition traces stories and objects associated with great floods in Scotland and abroad, from biblical accounts to ancient Egypt to North America, as well as recent events of rising water levels around Scotland. 👑The exhibition explores the growing threats posed by the global climate emergency and examines the impacts of flooding and extreme weather events on communities, businesses and infrastructure in the Perth and Kinross region. The exhibition also includes photos, memories and stories provided by locals. 🌍As part of the exhibition, the Perth Museum is inviting the public to submit photos of local flooding. The photographs form a central display that illustrates the lived experiences of the community. 📍 Place: Dundee, Scotland ✨ What it felt like: Walking along the waterfront was one of my favorite parts of the day. The city has a creative atmosphere, with impressive architecture sitting alongside historic landmarks and plenty of cafés to stop and recharge. 👀 What stood out: The V&A Dundee and the RRS Discovery area made the waterfront especially interesting, while the riverside paths were perfect for a leisurely stroll. I also enjoyed wandering through the city center, where independent cafés, public art, and local shops added plenty of character. Since many attractions are close together, it was easy to explore most of the highlights on foot. 💡 Exclusive tip: If you're planning to use public transport, a Dayrider bus ticket is a great value. Took the time to go on a solo trip in the early morning hours to Kirkcaldy. This was my experience starting from getting to the Dundee Bus Station in the city centre. The nail cutter was a souvenir bought. Additionally, after that, the third picture includes my additional trip to Perth through the Broxden Park and Ride bus station. I sat on a bench with a packed sandwich and let the scent of flowers and damp earth settle into me. Later, I hiked up Kinnoull Hill, one of the best free things you can do here. The climb wasn’t hard, just steady, and the reward was everything that sudden sweep of land and water, the tower at the cliff’s edge, the wind tugging at my sleeves. I didn’t need a guide or a tour; just my boots, a thermos of tea, and time. That view made the whole trip feel worth it. In town, I stopped by the Perth Museum and Art Gallery, which was free and full of quiet surprises ancient stones, local art, traces of history that felt close to the surface. It was a beautiful and manageable hike from the city center of Perth to the hill. It was an amazing hike to spend with friends and enjoy the nice scenery, even though the journey was slightly difficult due to the incline and the on-and-off drizzling. Perth is a nice place to have a short getaway from the busy city center. It is not very well known, but it has some amazing tourist attractions, including the hiking hill!
