You can travel here by getting on a bus from Aberdeen bus station. The bus goes to Boddam before reaching Peterhead. The lighthouse tower is 35m high, and there are 166 steps leading to the top. I’ve had 11 holidays in Sharm El Sheikh but switched hotels three times due to abusive behavior and swearing from staff. However, General Manager Azmy at Amwaj made my experience exceptional. On the first day, he gave me his business card and assured me that such behavior is unacceptable at his hotel. He promised to take immediate action if I reported anything, even saying he would fire staff on the spot. To make things even better, he gave me a free upgrade to a fantastic room. Although I only stayed for two days, the food and staff were absolutely outstanding. The hotel was full, so I had to move to another hotel, which led to a terrible experience. I ended up returning to Amwaj for my last day. As an offshore captain traveling to join my ship today in Peterhead, I’ve already booked Amwaj for the future. It’s a 24-hour all-inclusive hotel, unlike most others where drinks need to be paid for at certain times, ensuring it’s always fully booked. Additionally, the front office manager, Amr, was incredibly kind and gave me his business card. They truly treated me like a king throughout my stay!
