Okay, so this wasn't exactly part of the Winter Festival, but this Chinese garden was too beautiful not to be photographed and talked about on here!🏯🎋 It looked so exquisite and authentic with those pretty little red bridges over the water, and the waterfall sound has such a calming effect that you can just sit down and listen to it!⛲ We loved being able to see the Chinese part of the garden from different angles, but no matter what angle you see it from, it always makes you feel like you're exploring the inside of a beautiful impressionist painting ❤️ #postandearn #familytrip #familytravel #travel #naturalwonders #thingstodo #myitinerary

After exploring the gardens some more, we went on a couple of rides. The first was the ferris wheel! Who doesn't love a good ferris wheel? Feeling like you're in a flying bubble, able to see the great views from the sky!🎡 We then went on the even more thrilling swing chairs! The speed and height of the ride makes you feel like you're flying! It's amazing!😄 We got a little thirsty so mummy bought a like flavoured snow cone for each of us. It was really good and refreshing 🍋🟩🍧 We went back to the pile of snow to play in again for a little while before going tobogganing! That was a thrill too! You sit on a cushiony ring and they tell you when to go! It's so much fun!🏔️ This was really turning out to be a lovely day at the gardens, God turned the sunny weather on for us today!☀️ #postandearn #thingstodo #myitinerary #familytravel #familytrip #travel #localfood #deliciousfood

A quick escape from Sydney turned into one of the most memorable weekends ever 😍 Here’s how it went down ⬇️ 🛏️ Checked in at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort – Spacious villa surrounded by nature, with kangaroos hopping by like neighbors 🦘🌳 Total peace! 🧀🍫 Afternoon stop at Hunter Valley Cheese Factory & Chocolate Company – Cheese tasting, sweet treats, and the smell of fudge = heaven 💛 🍷 Visited a few cellar doors for wine tasting and picture-perfect views 🍇 🌅 Golden hour hit different here! 🍽️ Ended the day with dinner at a warm, cozy local restaurant – hearty food, good wine, friendly vibes 🥘🍷 🎈 Woke up early for a once-in-a-lifetime sunrise balloon flight with Balloon Aloft – floating over the vineyards was unreal ✨ 🥂 Wrapped it up with a sparkling breakfast at Peterson House – the perfect finish. 📲 Booked everything (hotel + balloon flight) on Trip.com – super easy and stress-free! #summervacay

Just a 2.5-hour drive from Sydney, you'll find yourself in the Hunter Valley. Here you can visit zoos, experience hot air ballooning, and explore ancient wineries. 🏨 Hotel: Spicers Guesthouse 🚗 Address: 57 Ekerts Road, Pokolbin NSW 2320 🇦🇺 Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia Many visitors to the Hunter Valley choose this hotel for its peace and comfort, far from the noise of the city, allowing you to truly relax and feel at ease. 🏨 Hotel Facilities: The hotel offers numerous services including parking, a swimming pool, tennis courts, lawns, a restaurant, and afternoon tea. Surrounded by green lawns and vineyards, it feels like being in the midst of a vast prairie. ☕️ Hotel Dining: The hotel's breakfast is plentiful and made to order, so if you're in a hurry, you might need to get up a bit earlier. Of course, the morning atmosphere is great, and it's worth taking your time to enjoy a cup of coffee and juice while taking in the distant green scenery. We also had dinner at the hotel, which offers a wide selection of wines and a variety of dishes. The owner once stayed in Hong Kong, China, and speaks Cantonese, so he is particularly attentive to guests from China, often serving extra dishes. You can make specific requests regarding the speed of service and taste preferences to the owner.

Took a day trip tour to Hunter Valley. The best tour guide Sam drove us from Sydney central. The ride was 2 hours. Once at the farm we got to go to 2 wine tasting sampling. Each time we had around 8 glasses. This tour comes with lunch. Love how the farm feel. So peaceful. Best time of they year to visit in Dec - Jan Where the vineyards will be filled to the brim with bunches of grapes. Visited Hunters Dream. Got to meet the owner himself who took the time to explain on Shiraz and Sparkling wine. Will definitely visit again #huntervalley #sydney #awesomepic #couplestrip

If you are headed to the Hunter Valley wine region, particularly Pokolbin, then take my advice and go to Hunter Belle Dairy. Getting There - head north from Sydney on the Pacific Highway following the signs for Wine Country. Address - 1616 Broke Rd, Pokolbin NSW 2320 Ambiance/Facilities - This cellar door style location has a wonderful cheese shop as well as a great cafe. Highlights - the cheese shop offers tastings and gelato while the cafe offers ala carte options for a light bite through to a full meal. Wine or Beer matching also available. But the star of the show here is the wonderful High Cheese offerings. Similar to a traditional high tea but focusing on the various types of cheeses offered by the Dairy. Avg. Price per Person - cheese tasting $5. cafe items from $5. Rating - IMO 100 out of 10 😁 #foodie #gooutside #passionpassport #staycation #deliciousfood #cafe

A fantastic place for a long weekend. About 2 hours north of Sydney in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine region, Hope Estate is more than just your usual cellar door. Address - 2213 Broke Rd, Pokolbin NSW 2320 Getting There - self drive the M1 from Sydney and follow the Wine Country signs. There are also a lot of tour operators that will do the drive for you. Attractions - Winery, brewery and distillery all in one. Hope estate offers generous tasting options of their homegrown wine and paddles of their own beers and gin/vodka. Hotels - We stayed at the nearby Mercure Hunter Valley but there are lots of options in Pokolbin and beyond. Food & Restaurants - Hope Estate of a small and simple menu but the pizzas were fresh and delicious and definitely hit the spot while tasting. Shopping - all tasting items are available to purchase at the cellar door along with some local artisan produce and winery branded merchandise #foodie #deliciousfood #weekendgetaway #winetime

A perfectly peaceful breakfast whilst staying at Chateau Elan in the Hunter Valley. We sat looking out on the gorgeous golf course, the morning was a little chilly so the staff gave us a heater to stay warm. Order the smashed avocado you won’t regret it. #tripaway#triplocal

Traveling to Sydney, in addition to local landmarks, must not be missed is a tour around Sydney. The Hunter Valley, which is more than two hours' drive from Sydney's downtown area, must be experienced. It is a famous wine region and is arguably the best wine in Australia. It is very famous. This time we stayed at the Hunter Valley Isburg Resort, where there are golf, wine, spa, and of course food. The happiest thing is to drive in to find kangaroos.

Just had the best Pokolbin detour after a Hunter Valley wedding — Hunter Valley Gardens is an absolute must! 🌻 This place is magic for kids (and adults!). My two-year-old loved the huge open spaces, and my personal fave has to be the Storybook Garden, where his imagination really took flight. Top Spot to Visit: Hunter Valley Gardens (2090 Broke Rd, Pokolbin NSW 2320) Open daily 9am–5pm (last entry 4pm), admission around $39. Get there early and let the little ones roam — it’s totally stroller-friendly and there’s tons for families. Don’t miss the Storybook Garden; it’s whimsical, colorful, and truly sparks creativity for kids. Practical Travel Tips: If you’re coming back from a wedding or event in Hunter Valley, swing by Hunter Valley Gardens for a relaxing stroll. Kids will love the themed gardens and open lawns; pack a picnic or grab snacks at the on-site café (it’s handy for quick bites). It’s pricey but worth it for the vibes and family time! Bring a hat and sunscreen; Pokolbin gets sunny and there’s lots of outdoor exploring. Getting There & Around: Driving from Sydney? It’s about a 2-hour trip, super easy via the M1. Plenty of parking at the Gardens. If possible, book tickets on trip.com for a smoother entry. Destination Tips: Hunter Valley Gardens is open year-round. Weather can change fast, so pack layers and check the forecast. No visa needed for domestic travel, and most spots take card but cash for smaller vendors is handy. #HunterValleyGardens #PokolbinFamilyFun #TripcomWin

Pick up at 2:40 am, arrive Hunter Valley around 4:30 am. Check-in & briefing... We were drived for the place in 10 min...We are driving under DARKNESS! Then, it suddenly bright up as dawn comes. We wait for the technician to blow up the balloon... Finally 10 of us, in 2 compartments were in the basket of Balloon... We rise up gradually... I am scared of heights BUT I didn't fear for the whole course... Very great experience... We then have breakfast and get back to car by 9 am,; We then arrived the pick-up place by 11am !! First 3,800 metres, then 5,000 metres...but it seems not really high...

Another absolute favourite group of lights displayed were the ones that looked like sweets! They had cakes, candy you name it! And we did find them to be a little appetizing!🍭 So mummy took us to the food area where she bought us a delicious waffle on a stick with Belgian chocolate and M&Ms. The waffle was very yummy! We weren't big fans of the waffle being coated with extra sugar, that's the only negative but other than that? Yummy in the tummy!🧇 As we prepared to leave the festival, mummy took some photos of the beautifully colourful present boxes, and you could go inside some of them, so she just couldn't resist taking a photo of us inside!🎁 We truly had a fantastic time at the Christmas Lights Festival in the Hunter Valley Gardens and we have a feeling we may return!✨ #hellochristmas #familytrip #familytravel #travel #staycation #naturalwonders #thingstodo #afternoonteatime #localfood #deliciousfood

It's hard to get over the beautiful light displays. We saw colourful plants, flowers and hot-air balloons! In addition to that, we actually saw a Christmas ambulance! The cross was like a ribbon on a present box!🎁 There were some beautiful archways, star displays and interesting light displays that look like jellyfish!🌟 There were more lights in the food area, where there was a beautiful little castle. Mummy took us in there and it was out of this world! It was so much fun to be princesses for those few minutes🏰 Stay tuned because part 3 is coming soon!✨ #hellochristmas #naturalwonders #staycation #thingstodo #travel #familytravel #familytrip #familyfun

After such a wonderful time at the Winter Festival, it was a no brainer to come back to the Hunter Valley Gardens for the Christmas Lights Festival!🌟 It was absolutely incredible, needless to say. The colourful lights were everywhere and it was never too much! Some of the displays you could even interact with, like the sleigh, where a nice lady offered to take a photo for us! We really like how it turned out. Mummy looks beautiful🛷 We took so many photos they couldn't fit into just one post, so stay tuned for more Christmas magic!✨ #hellochristmas #familytravel #familyfun #familytrip #travel #staycation #naturalwonders #thingstodo
