Another fantastic place to stay in Cameron Highlands. We had booked a deluxe room and were upgraded to the Foster Suite (101sqm) located up on the beautiful hill top. The room was brilliant, beautiful and very comfortable. Staff were accommodating and helpful. We would recommend the High Tea overlooking the beautiful lake. Staff is very courteous. Parking is free.

#mytraveldiary Vibes check: Cameron Highlands is all about lush views, cool weather, and that “British countryside” magic 🏞️🌸. For my stay, I chose Ringlet and checked into The Lakehouse—it’s easily the spot if you want old-world, colonial charm plus brilliant scenery. Top Spot to Stay: 🏡 The Lakehouse Cameron Highlands 30th Mile, Jalan Ringlet - Sungai Koyan, Sungai Khazanah Trust me, this place nails the pretty vintage look! The rooms are spacious, spotless, and decorated like an English manor house (think antique wood, cozy fireplaces). What I loved most: the thoughtful details—scented towels and essential oil lamps make it SO relaxing. Staff here seriously keep things fresh and super hygienic. 💞Reasons to Recommend: · Ask for a room with lake/garden views—they’re worth it for sunrise and sunset photos! · If you’re traveling with kids or carrying lots of bags, request ground floor rooms (there’s no lift, and some guest reviews suggest more help with luggage would be fab). · Enjoy afternoon tea—classic scones, jam, and the best Cameron Highlands strawberries. 🚗Getting Around: Ringlet is super chill for strolling, but you’ll need a car or taxi to explore beyond the hotel. The roads are twisty—drive slow and enjoy the scenery! 🫕Food recommendations: Try the hotel breakfast—local honey, fresh fruit, and eggs made to order. For lunch/dinner: go for the hearty pies or roast chicken at the in-house restaurant. 💡Key Destination Tips: Weather here is cool year-round—pack layers! Cash or card is fine, but keep some cash for small stops during your day trips. #CameronHighlands #RingletStay #ColonialRetreat #TravelTips #tripdotcom

#favouriteitinerary Tucked in the green mountainous terrain, the Lakehouse Cameron Highlands is a highly exclusive retreat. The retreat features 19-rooms with charming Tudor-styled architectural designs offering a unique blend of rustic elegance and utmost modern comfort to the visitors. I absolutely enjoy sitting on their couch nested in the carpet of greens and enjoy the harmony of the cool, crisp highland weather. This is the kind of elegant stay that you would crave for again and again once you have experienced it. Totally recommended.

#favouritecafe The Lakehouse in Cameron Highlands offers a tranquil retreat with its charming Tudor-style architecture and lush surroundings. This boutique hotel, perched on a hill overlooking the picturesque Sultan Abu Bakar Lake, provides a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Guests can enjoy a traditional English afternoon tea on the terrace, savor gourmet meals in the elegant dining room, or relax by the cozy fireplace in the lounge. The attentive staff and impeccable service ensure that every guest feels pampered and well-cared for.

The Lake House Cameron Highlands is located away from town and amidst the lush hills and tranquil lake. A 10-minute drive from Cameron Valley Tea House 2. One night stay and breakfast for 2pax is SGD210! So after being able to check in early at 12pm, we spent our time relaxing, exploring, taking pictures of the flowers there and posing for photos by the lake. We had afternoon tea at the Lakeview Terrace and our meals at The Restaurant. The honeycomb served at the breakfast buffet came from the bee/strawberry farm that is only a 10-minute drive away. It was a very chill and comfortable #weekendgetaways #malaysia #cameronhighlands #travel #hotelreview

#malaysia #highland #ipoh #cameronhighland We took a short weekend break to Cameron Highland in Malaysia to enjoy the amazing chilling weather, great food and nature. We stayed in this beautiful Lakehouse hotel, and designs of the house is everything I love. Everything works perfectly, the service is great, and even though it’s not far from the road, it’s overall quiet in the evening during our stay. 😊 Looking forward to go back!!

The Lakehouse is a Tudor-style boutique resort in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia close to the towns of Tanah Rata and Ringlet. A charming country house inspired by English heritage, The Lakehouse features wooden ceiling beams and four-poster beds. Sitting on a hill in Cameron Highlands, the hotel offers guided jungle treks. The Lakehouse Cameron Highlands Resort is 1,000 m above sea level and overlooks Sultan Abu Bakar Lake. The nearest town, Ipoh, is a 90-minute drive away, while Kuala Lumpur is a 3-hour drive away. #awesomepic #touristattractions #mountainview

Let’s spill the tea on one of Malaysia’s cutest, most charming boutique hotels! The Lakehouse Cameron Highlands isn’t just any stay—it’s a full-on #vibes experience. Built in 1966 by retired British Army officer Colonel Stanley J. Foster, this place is serving up Old English countryside realness, tucked away on the 30th Mile, Ringlet, overlooking the stunning Sultan Abu Bakar Lake. (Add to your map: 30th Mile, Ringlet, Cameron Highlands, 39200 Pahang, Malaysia.) The story behind this dreamy escape is total goals. Foster, a Scotsman and an ex-British military officer, poured nearly four years into creating his perfect bed-and-breakfast. Think wooden beams, cozy fireplaces, Tudor vibes out the wazoo, and sweeping hilltop views—it really feels like you time-teleported into another world. After finishing construction, The Lakehouse officially opened as a boutique hotel in 1970. Foster himself ran the show until 1984, making sure every guest got that homey, personal touch. After he passed away, his family decided not to take over, and in 1989, HPL Hotels & Resorts snapped up the property. The best part? HPL kept everything super authentic! While The Lakehouse now has 19 boutique rooms, it’s still filled with vintage rotary phones, classic antiques, and loads of British artwork. The whole spot is Insta-ready, perfect for that throwback ‘colonial glam’ look. This hidden gem has serious main character energy, making it a must-stay for anyone exploring the “Valley of Eternal Spring.” Pro travel tip: Check out all the details and book your room through trip.com to snag the best deals! Opening hours: The Lakehouse operates 24/7—so you can check-in anytime and live out your countryside cottagecore dreams year-round.#citydaytours #myitinerary #familytravel #travel #couplestrip #naturalwonders

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Param and the team. The service and hospitality provided by Suresh and others were consistently exceptional. We spent hours enjoying the balcony, which offers a breathtaking setting and an incredible view. Our room was elegantly designed and featured a capsule coffee machine, which was a real treat. The addition of bath salts was a delightful touch that we appreciated. Dinner was absolutely delicious. The establishment is impeccably clean, with meticulous attention to detail throughout. This was our fourth visit to the Cam Highlands and our first time at The LakeHouse, but we’re certain future trips to CH will definitely bring us back here. Bravo and thank you!

Hidden in Ringlet, Pahang, near the famous Habu Boh Tea Plantation, Mount Chantek and Mount Chentuk offer a unique two-peak adventure that can be completed in a single hike. Standing at 1,802 meters and 1,806 meters respectively, these two mountains are only a few meters apart in elevation, but reaching both summits makes for a rewarding adventure through some beautiful highland terrain. The trail begins through a vegetable farm before crossing Ulong River and gradually turning into a steep ascent. Although some sections are quite steep, the climb is manageable if you take your time and pace yourself. Along the way, you'll come across a viewpoint overlooking Mount Beluat and the surrounding highlands. One of the notable checkpoints along the route is Camp Hippie, where the vegetation becomes much denser, with plenty of shrubs and thorny plants 🌿🌵 The real highlight comes as you approach the summits. Both Mount Chantek and Mount Chentuk are surrounded by beautiful mossy forest, creating an almost surreal atmosphere that feels like stepping into another world 🌫️🌲 For peak collectors, both summits also feature their own trigonometric survey markers. The usual route takes you to Mount Chentuk first, followed by Mount Chantek, allowing you to conquer both peaks in one continuous adventure. 💡 Hiking Tips 🦟 Bring mosquito repellent, especially for the beginning of the trail where mosquitoes can be quite active. 🥾 The route is considered moderate and may not be ideal for complete beginners. 👟 Wear proper hiking shoes with good grip, as certain sections can become muddy and slippery. 🧥 Bring suitable clothing, as temperatures can get cold and windy, particularly around the summits. 🌧️ Check the weather before hiking, as wet conditions can make the steep sections significantly more challenging. 💚 If you're looking for a highland adventure that combines two summits, mossy forests, and spectacular mountain scenery, Mount Chentuk & Mount Chantek deserve a place on your hiking list. #hiking #pahang #ringlet

What truly made this stay remarkable were the dedicated employees who infused the experience with warmth, sincerity, and genuine care. A special shoutout to Balqis and Kiv at Reception, whose friendly smiles and thoughtful help made every arrival and departure effortless and welcoming. They had a knack for making guests feel acknowledged rather than just processed. The dining experience was equally unforgettable, thanks to Thilaga, Parames, and Suresh from the Food & Beverage team. Their attentiveness, insightful recommendations, and genuine hospitality turned every meal into a delightful escape to a charming countryside manor. Samantha and Param also deserve recognition for embodying the role of gracious hosts. Their enthusiasm and dedication to creating memorable moments made guests feel less like visitors and more like welcomed family members. Behind the scenes, the Housekeeping team maintained impeccable standards, ensuring every space felt warm, comfortable, and meticulously cared for. Chef Yusri and his Culinary team also earned praise for their consistent delivery of excellent dishes, perfectly matching the property’s classic highland charm. This is far more than just a place to stay; it’s an experience steeped in nostalgia, tranquillity, and heartfelt hospitality. Amid an era where luxury often leans toward grandeur, this hidden highland retreat reminds us that true luxury lies in personal touches, sincere service, and the comfort of feeling at home.

Many people think traveling abroad requires a budget of 30,000–50,000 THB or more. But in reality, if you choose the right city, book your flights in advance, and plan well, a budget under 20,000 THB is more than enough for a comfortable trip—covering food, sightseeing, and amazing photos with great value. This list is perfect for a 3–5 day trip, based on departing from Thailand, using low-cost airlines or taking advantage of promotions, staying in standard accommodations, and still having money left over for delicious local food. Let's see... which cities should make it to your travel bucket list! ✈️ ⸻ 🥉 5th Place: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 🇻🇳 Easy to explore, delicious food, and easy on the wallet. Ho Chi Minh City is a complete package, featuring beautiful cafes, French-style architecture, local markets, and great restaurants with prices ranging from tens to hundreds of baht. Many meals cost less than 100 THB, and Vietnamese coffee is also very affordable. As for accommodations, there are plenty of choices, from hostels to decent hotels at great value. 💰 Budget for 3 Days 2 Nights Approximately 12,000–16,000 THB ⸻ 🏅 4th Place: Penang, Malaysia 🇲🇾 A World Heritage city that offers great value for food and sightseeing. Penang is a paradise for foodies and photo enthusiasts. George Town is full of street art, cafes, heritage buildings, and famous eateries. Expenses are low, it's easy to explore on foot, and Grab rides are cheaper than in many other countries. Famous local dishes like Char Kway Teow, Assam Laksa, and Cendol are so wallet-friendly you'll want seconds. 💰 Budget for 3 Days 2 Nights Approximately 13,000–17,000 THB ⸻ 🥉 3rd Place: Taipei A city that's easy to travel around with plenty of food options. Taipei is incredibly worthwhile when you can grab a flight promotion. The MRT system covers the whole city, making travel super convenient. Street food at night markets is affordable, and there are many free attractions like Longshan Temple, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, and Ximending. With good planning, you can easily enjoy a trip for under 20,000 THB. 💰 Budget for 4 Days 3 Nights Approximately 16,000–20,000 THB ⸻ 🥈 2nd Place: Kunming, China 🇨🇳 Great weather, easy travel, and budget-friendly. Kunming is becoming increasingly popular thanks to direct flights from Thailand, short travel times, and plenty of beautiful natural attractions. Highlights include Dianchi Lake, Guandu Ancient Town, and the Shilin Stone Forest. It's easy to get around using the high-speed rail and subway system. Food and accommodation costs are very reasonable compared to other major tourist cities in China. 💰 Budget for 4 Days 3 Nights Approximately 17,000–20,000 THB ⸻ 🥇 1st Place: Chongqing, China 🇨🇳 The best value overall for views, food, and cost of living. If you had to pick just one city under a 20,000 THB budget, Chongqing is an incredibly fascinating choice. This city offers trains running straight through residential buildings, spectacular night views, the ancient Hongyadong complex, river-crossing cable cars, and authentic Sichuan hot pot. Accommodation and food prices remain inexpensive, allowing you to stay for several days without worrying about breaking the bank. Especially during flight promotions, an entire trip might not even hit the 20,000 THB mark. 💰 Budget for 4 Days 3 Nights Approximately 18,000–20,000 THB ⸻ 💡 How to keep your trip under a 20,000 THB budget: ✈️ Book flights 2–4 months in advance. 🏨 Choose accommodations near MRT or subway stations. 🚇 Use public transportation as your main way to get around. 🍜 Eat at local restaurants for delicious and cheap meals. 🎟️ Choose free attractions or those with cheap entry fees. ⸻ ✨ Each of the 5 cities has its own unique charm: 🇻🇳 Ho Chi Minh City – Beautiful cafes, easy to travel, budget-friendly. 🇲🇾 Penang – A World Heritage city with legendary street food. 📍 Taipei – Convenient transportation, endless food options (no flag icon needed on the image). 🇨🇳 Kunming – Great weather, beautiful nature, relaxing trip. 🇨🇳 Chongqing – Epic views, best value for money. A 20,000 THB budget might not take you to every country in the world, but if you choose the right city, you can absolutely enjoy a fulfilling international travel experience. If you had a 20,000 THB budget right now... which city would you fly to first? ✈️💙 :::

The staff offered outstanding hospitality during our stay. They explained everything in clear, easy-to-understand English, from the hotel amenities to local attraction suggestions. Their kindness and professionalism made us feel very welcome. It was our first visit to Cameron Highlands, and we were delighted by the cool, pleasant climate—it hardly felt like Malaysia! The hotel was spotless, well-kept, and very comfortable, which made the experience thoroughly enjoyable. We were highly satisfied overall. The only minor point is that the hotel is a bit far from the BOH Tea Plantation, so transportation might be required for frequent visits. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay in Cameron Highlands.

I stayed at The Lakehouse for 5 nights with my sisters for a family reunion. The setting and atmosphere were absolutely beautiful and relaxing – it felt like stepping back in time, but with the comforts of 2026. The staff were incredibly attentive and polite, while the rooms were spotless, exuding old-world charm, and provided exceptional comfort and quiet. The hotel has a terrace overlooking the lake and stunning gardens where drinks and meals are served, and the restaurant offered an excellent breakfast and dinner menu that catered perfectly to our needs. Its location is conveniently close to the area's attractions, with ample parking space for those driving. I highly recommend spending a few nights here to enjoy the serene ambiance and explore the lovely surroundings. A heartfelt thank you to Param T and the team for making our stay truly special.

Perfectly situated in an old-world ambiance complemented by modern conveniences, this spot offers attentive and friendly service. The breakfast and overall catering were exceptional. Our room was spacious, elegantly designed, and came with its own coffee and tea-making facilities.

The best place to stay in Cameron Highlands, offering the perfect mix of beauty, comfort, delicious food, ambiance, and homely vibes. The team is incredibly friendly. We traveled as two couples with two kids, and it suited everyone perfectly. There's plenty of free parking, so bringing your own car is hassle-free. The breakfast options are simply irresistible. Once inside the property, the atmosphere feels just like being in Scotland.

We absolutely adored our high tea experience at The Lake House. The ambiance was stunning and peaceful, offering gorgeous views that set a perfect tone for a relaxing afternoon. The food was exquisitely presented and tasted amazing, featuring a fantastic range of both sweet and savory options. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and crafted with care. The tea variety was outstanding and paired wonderfully with the food. Adding to the charm was the warm and attentive service. The staff were welcoming, professional, and made us feel truly appreciated during our visit.

I thought Japanese convenience stores were just shops. Water, chips, maybe onigiri. But when I left my Tokyo hotel at 2:00 AM to buy toothpaste and went into the nearest 7-Eleven, I was lost. I spent forty minutes there. And I left feeling like Japan was on another planet. 1. A vending machine with a face that knows what you want The first thing I saw at the entrance was a smart screen. It read my gender and approximate age and offered, "It's 2:13 AM, the temperature is 16 degrees Celsius. We recommend hot jasmine tea and a hand warmer. 15% off." I didn't know I wanted tea. But the screen did. The tea was 140 yen. The hand warmer was 200 yen. That's a little over two hundred rubles combined. I took both. And I haven't regretted it for a second. 2. The noodle corner that changed my world At a Japanese convenience store, they don't just have noodles. They have fresh ramen, which you choose from the refrigerator, scan, and the machine next to the cash register cooks it in 90 seconds. Hot, with real broth, a piece of pork, and a soft-boiled egg. In a plastic container, which is somehow more convenient than a plate at a restaurant. I ate this ramen standing by the window, looking out onto the empty street of Akihabara. And it was the best ramen of my life. 3. The employee who knows "thank you" in forty languages At the checkout, I was met by a guy in a perfectly pressed uniform. Seeing that I was a foreigner, he said "thank you" in Russian. With an accent, but still Russian. It turns out they teach them basic expressions of gratitude in all the languages of the world. He packed my toothpaste and hot water bottle in two bags because "food and non-food should be kept separate." He put a wet wipe in my hand. He bowed. He said "good night." I walked out and realized: I wanted to live in this convenience store. 4. The secret floor the guides never mentioned There was a staircase down in this same store. I went down. It turned out to be an underground lounge area: four capsule chairs, a hot chocolate machine, a phone charging station, and a shelf with manga. Everything was free. For those who purchased something in the store. I sat in the capsule chair, turned on the neck massager (also free), and read samurai manga. At three in the morning. In a store. Are you serious? 5. The sunrise that greeted me at the exit I left at four in the morning. The sky over Tokyo was beginning to brighten. In my hand was a bag of toothpaste, ramen, a hot water bottle, and a free face mask, which the cashier had included "as a gift for a foreigner." I stood there, watching the city wake up. And suddenly I realized: I was happy. Not because I bought anything special. But because I was treated like an emperor. At a 7-Eleven. At three in the morning. Why it works: Conbini as a philosophy of care A Japanese conbini isn't a store. It's a 24-hour emergency service. Here you can eat, warm up, charge your phone, read manga, and feel like a human being. Anytime. No strings attached. Simply because that's the way it's done. Result: I came for toothpaste and left with ramen, a hot water bottle, a face mask, and faith in humanity. A Japanese conbini at night is the best thing that's ever happened to me in my travels. If you're ever in Tokyo, don't sleep. Go to a 7-Eleven. Bonus tip: Get ramen from the fridge, not from the shelf. And always go down to the basement—that's where the magic lies. Question for the audience: Would you spend the night at a Japanese konbini? Or do you prefer bars and clubs? #Japan #Tokyo #konbini #nightlife #7Eleven #travel2026 #tourism #personalexperience #japaneseservice #shocked #ramen #silence

We had lunch on the terrace of this beautiful hotel. The dishes were flavorful, and the plates were well-presented. Unfortunately, the rain forced us to move indoors to finish. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, happily fulfilling several of our requests. The food in the restaurant was excellent, with the fish being particularly great. Breakfast was varied and featured fresh ingredients. All in all, a perfect weekend escape.
