Rome is one of those cities where you can simply start walking and suddenly find yourself surrounded by 2,000 years of history. If you only have one day in Rome, here is a route that covers some of the most iconic places. 📍 My one-day Rome itinerary: Colosseum → Roman Forum → Capitoline Museums → Trevi Fountain → Vatican City & St. Peter’s Basilica. 🏛️ Colosseum & Roman Forum I started my day at the Colosseum, probably the most recognizable landmark in Rome. Then I continued to the Roman Forum, once the political, religious and commercial heart of ancient Rome. Walking among these ruins really feels like stepping into another era. 🐺 Capitoline Museums One of my favorite stops was the Capitoline Museums. Here you can see the famous Capitoline Wolf, one of the best-known symbols associated with Rome and the legend of Romulus and Remus. ⛲ Trevi Fountain Of course, you can’t spend a day in Rome without visiting the Trevi Fountain. It is incredibly beautiful, but also incredibly crowded! 😄 And here is my funny Rome story: I came to take that perfect travel photo of the fountain… but apparently half of the world had exactly the same idea that day. 😂 I spent more time trying to find a tiny gap between people than actually taking the photo. Welcome to Rome! 🇻🇦 Vatican City & St. Peter’s Basilica I finished the route at Vatican City. St. Peter’s Square and the basilica are even more impressive in person than in photos. Definitely save enough time just to walk around and enjoy the architecture. ⭐ My review: Rome is basically an open-air museum. Ancient ruins, fountains, churches, narrow streets and beautiful architecture are everywhere. Yes, the main attractions can be extremely busy, but Rome is absolutely worth experiencing at least once. 💡 My tips for Rome: · Start early — especially for the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain. · Wear comfortable shoes. You will walk A LOT. · Book popular attractions in advance. · Don’t try to see everything in one day — enjoy the atmosphere too. · Keep some free time just for wandering through the streets. Sometimes the places you discover accidentally become the best memories. 🏆 My best recommendation: walk as much as possible. Rome is a city where the route between the attractions can be just as interesting as the attractions themselves. Today, a friend invited us to Rome to watch a baseball game, where we could get a doll of Ronald Acuna Jr. (2023 MLB National League MVP) of the Atlanta Braves! The weather was very hot and the sun was very strong. It was rare to see a group of Americans holding umbrellas to avoid the sun. There were also many baseball⚾️ or team-related products available for purchase. Rome is about an hour's drive from Atlanta. It is a small town in the suburbs and the countryside. The scenery along the way is good. If the weather is cool, it is suitable for a day of outing!
