Experience backpacking Dong Thap in 1 day
* Morning:
7:00 am: I started from Mien Tay bus station. Along the way, you will see the Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, City Theater, Ben Thanh Market, Phu My Hung new urban area...
Then, the car ran along Highway 1A, you stopped for breakfast in My Tho. When arriving at Cao Lanh city, I took a boat to Gao Giong eco-tourism area, sat on a three-leaf boat through fragrant lotus ponds, through the cajuput forest with many species of storks, herons, gong coc, le le, cu xanh... often gathering here to feed and nest in the natural area of Dong Thap Muoi.

After visiting, I had lunch in a quiet countryside scene, with storks and herons flying in the distance. A truly romantic, lyrical and peaceful scene. This is an unforgettable experience for me, when I get to enjoy Dong Thap specialties such as steamed snails, grilled snakehead fish in lotus leaves, shredded chicken, boiled field vegetables with catfish fried with ginger fish sauce... These dishes will definitely make you "addicted" to them. And it would be a pity if you didn't get to enjoy the unique features of this land.
* Afternoon:
Continue the 1-day backpacking tour of Dong Thap. After lunch in Gao Giong, I continued to visit other impressive sights in the West during the day. Coming to Sa Dec, you can visit Kien An Cung Pagoda, visit Huynh Thuy Le ancient house, then continue to visit Tan Quy Dong ornamental flower village (commonly known as Sa Dec flower village).
This is also the time when my phone is put to full use. You can freely take pictures with hundreds of flowers competing to show off their colors. This is also a land with a tradition of growing ornamental flowers for more than 100 years.

Kien An Cung, like many other Chinese temples in Vietnam, is often called the Chinese pagoda - a cultural and religious institution with historical value and on the middle of the roof of Kien An Cung there is a statue of two dragons fighting. Kien An Cung faces Cai Son canal, built in the shape of the letter "Cong" with 3 rooms.
There is also a house with a unique architectural style, a harmonious combination of Eastern and Western architectural styles. In 1895, the house was built with only precious wood in the appearance of a traditional house in the Southwest (a three-room house). In 1917, the house underwent a major renovation, built with solid bricks covering the wooden frame inside.
On the way back to Ho Chi Minh City, you can stop by to buy specialties of Dong Thap such as Lai Vung spring rolls, Sa Giang shrimp crackers, pink grapefruit...
