Stepanavan is one of the most beautiful places in Armeni to visit in summer! IG: edgarmesropyan #mytripvlog #tripblazers #armenian #armenia #armenianchurch #armeniatravel #travel #mountainview

Me and my very good friends decided to go to Stepanavan and surprise another friend of ours as it was her birthday. We were driving around enjoying the views ⛰ It was my first time in in northern part of Armenia and I was shocked by the nature. Later we visited the Sochut Dendropark named after Edmund Leonowicz. Where we spent several hours as it is pretty big and nice place to walk around and relax. After a we visited the ruins of Lori Castle 🏰 which is an 11th-century Armenian fortress located near the Lori Berd village. Later in the evening we went to a place called “Carahunge cafe & more” and had an amazingly delicious dinner 😍 #createwithtrip #stepanavan #armenia #visitarmenia #lori #castle #fortress #nature #mountainview #travellater

I just returned from Armenia, and my friends thought I went to Switzerland. Visa-free direct flights, incredibly affordable prices, and so safe you can wander around at midnight. This lesser-known ancient country in the Caucasus is absolutely worth it! 🏔️Why is it said to be more beautiful than Switzerland? Khor Virap Monastery: Free admission. Directly faces Mount Ararat from the Bible—the resting place of Noah's Ark. Photos with the snow-capped mountain background are stunning. Lake Sevan: The largest high-altitude freshwater lake in the Caucasus, at an elevation of 1,900 meters, with water as blue as a gem. Garni Temple + Geghard Monastery: Armenia's only ancient Greco-Roman pagan temple. Geghard is a World Heritage site, partly carved directly into the rock face. On the way, see the "Symphony of Stones"—basalt columns resembling a giant pipe organ. Cascade Complex: Climb to the top for panoramic views of the city's pink rooftops and snow-capped Mount Ararat. The side escalator is free to use, and the sunset in the evening is breathtaking. Dilijan: Known as the "Armenian Switzerland." 💰How to spend a US$300 budget? Spending US$300 per person for a week is truly not an exaggeration. A double room in an economy guesthouse costs US$20–40 per night. Lavash kebab rolls are about US$2–3.5. Charcoal-grilled meat costs about US$5 per person, enough to fill you up. 🗓️7-day relaxed itinerary Day 1: Yerevan city center—Republic Square > Cascade Complex > Vernissage Handicraft Market (open only on weekends) Day 2: Khor Virap Monastery > Noravank Monastery (growing out of red rocks) Day 3: Garni Temple > Symphony of Stones > Geghard Monastery Day 4: Lake Sevan + Sevanavank Monastery, stay one night by the lake to see the starry sky Day 5: Dilijan, experience the "Armenian Switzerland" Day 6: Stepanavan + Dzoraget Canyon Day 7: Conclude in Yerevan, buy souvenirs 🍜Must-try foods Lavash flatbread—UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, US$0.5 for a filling meal. Charcoal-grilled meat—large cuts of beef and lamb, US$5 per person, enough to fill you up. Grape leaf dolma—sweet and sour, flavorful. Lake Sevan grilled trout—a must-try lake delicacy. Armenian brandy is world-class, and pomegranate juice is available everywhere. Recommend Sherep Restaurant, near Republic Square, about US$11 per person. One last shout-out: Visa-free direct flights, US$300 per person, snow-capped mountains, lakes, and monasteries—it has it all. Go before it gets too crowded! 🇦🇲💙

Ready for a history trip that’s straight out of an adventure movie? 😍 Let me spill the tea about Lori Castle (Lori Berd)—an ancient fortress that’s basically the OG #WanderlustGoals! Picture this: a bold dude (yes, yours truly) in a yellow coat striking a pose next to a dramatic stone archway, with desolate ruins and epic canyon views in the background. Talk about Insta-worthy! 📸 Located just outside Stepanavan, Lori Castle sits on a wild and scenic peninsula where the Dzoraget and Pambak rivers meet. The exact address is Lori Berd, near Stepanavan, Lori Province, Armenia. This place is sooo extra—founded in 1065, it was once the capital of the Tashir-Dzoraget Kingdom and a hot spot on the Silk Road. Imagine knights, trade caravans, and hidden legends echoing through the valley! 🏞️ The ruins are EVERYTHING: semi-standing stone walls, ancient towers, and moody canyon drop-offs. Whether it’s sunny or a little moody with clouds, every weather vibe just amps up the Indiana Jones feels. The outdoor cultural landscape here is wild and raw, perfect if you’re craving a mix of history and pure nature. Lori Castle is open year-round, and there’s no official ticket booth, so you can just walk up and explore! Trust me, wandering these ruins makes you feel like a boss adventurer. PRO TIP: Wear some comfy shoes and bring your boldest fit for the ‘gram—you’ll want to snap every single angle. 😏✨ Ready to add some medieval legend to your travels? Check out trips to Lori Castle on trip.com and get your ancient explorer on! There’s free parking on site and this place is very quiet without much tourists.

#springtravel If you want to see a completely different side of Armenia, head north to Stepanavan — a place known for its fresh air, forests, and calm atmosphere. Not far from the town lies one of the most unique природные spots in the country — Stepanavan Dendropark (Sochut). ⸻ 🌳 What makes it special Unlike the rocky landscapes you might expect in Armenia, this area is lush, green, and full of life. The Dendropark (also known as Sochut) is home to: · Rare tree species from different parts of the world · Dense forest paths perfect for walking · A peaceful, almost European-style nature setting It feels more like a hidden forest in Northern Europe than the Caucasus. ⸻ 🌿 Why visit Stepanavan · Cooler climate, especially in summer · Clean air and relaxing atmosphere · Perfect escape from the city It’s not about sightseeing—it’s about slowing down. ⸻ 🚶 What to do · Walk through the forest trails · Have a picnic surrounded by nature · Explore the quiet surroundings of Stepanavan ⸻ 💡 Pro tip Visit in late spring or early autumn—the colors and atmosphere are at their best. ⸻ Stepanavan isn’t a typical tourist destination… And that’s exactly why it’s worth it. 👉 Save this for your next trip in Armenia. #Stepanavan #Dendropark #Sochut #Lori #ArmeniaTravel #NatureLovers #HiddenGems #VisitArmenia #ExploreArmenia #edgarmesropyan

People online keep comparing Armenia to Switzerland. Let’s be real—it’s not Switzerland, but for around RM2,000 a week (excluding flights), it’s actually a very good deal for budget travelers. As someone who prefers wandering around old towns and markets rather than rushing to ticking off tourist spots, here is my practical, no-BS review of my 7-day trip. ### The Good Stuff (What I actually liked) · **Yerevan Old Town & Markets:** Instead of visiting ten different museums, I spent hours at the Vernissage flea market. If you like vintage stuff, handmade crafts, and old coins, you will love this place. Much better than buying generic souvenirs. · **The Food is Cheap & Good:** You can get a massive plate of Khorovats (charcoal-grilled meat) for just a few Ringgit. Try the Lavash flatbread too—it’s super cheap and filling. Also, their local red wine is surprisingly decent and cheap because Armenia is one of the oldest wine regions. · **Lake Sevan & Dilijan:** Lake Sevan is huge and the blue water is beautiful, though the wind can freeze you to death. Dilijan is surrounded by pine forests. They call it "Armenian Switzerland"—okay, maybe a budget version, but it’s a nice, quiet place to just sit in an independent cafe and do nothing. ### The Annoying Stuff (My complaints & pitfalls to avoid) · **Monastery Fatigue is Real:** Armenia has ancient churches everywhere. Khor Virap, Geghard, Sevanavank... Honestly, after the third one, they all look the exact same. Don't force yourself to go to all of them unless you are a hardcore history buff. · **Taxi Scams:** Do not simply hail a taxi on the street, especially from the airport or tourist areas. They will chop you double or triple the price. Download the Yandex Go app (it's their version of Grab). It’s super cheap and saves you from bargaining. · **Airport Money Changer:** The rates at the airport are rubbish. Only change a very small amount there to get you to town, then find a proper exchange counter inside the big supermarkets in Yerevan city center (like SAS or Yerevan City) for much better rates. ### My 7-Day Relaxed Itinerary · **Day 1-3: Yerevan Base.** Stayed in a basic, cozy Airbnb in the old town (around RM100 a night, very reasonable). Walked up the Cascade complex to see the city view (exhausting but nice). Did a day trip to Garni Temple and Geghard Monastery (carved into a cliff, which was actually quite cool). · **Day 4-5: Lake Sevan & Dilijan.** Headed up to the mountains. Had some fresh trout near Lake Sevan (watch out for tourist pricing at the lakeside restaurants, ask for the menu with prices first!). Spent the next day chilling in Dilijan. · **Day 6-7: Back to Yerevan.** Skipped the long drive to the faraway gorges because I hates long road trips. Spent my last days cafe-hopping, walking the backstreets of Yerevan, and buying cheap local wine. ### Practical Tips: · **Dress Code:** If you want to enter the monasteries, women must cover their shoulders and knees. Keep a scarf in your bag just in case. · **Weather:** The temperature drops crazy fast in the mountains, even in autumn/spring. Bring a proper windbreaker. · **Exchange:** 1 MYR is roughly 80 Armenian Dram (AMD). Bring USD or Euros to exchange there.
