🌿 Taman Negara, Malaysia 🇲🇾 | My 2 Days in One of the World's Oldest Rainforests✨
Some places impress you with beautiful views. Taman Negara makes you slow down and truly connect with nature.
I wasn't expecting much before coming here—I thought it would just be another jungle. But after spending two days exploring the rainforest, crossing the famous canopy walkway, taking a boat ride on the Tembeling River, and listening to nothing but birds and insects at night, I completely understood why this place is so special.
If you're looking for an authentic rainforest experience in Malaysia, this is the place.
🌳 My Experience
The journey itself already felt like an adventure. Once I arrived, everything slowed down. No shopping malls, no city noise—just endless greenery.
One of my favourite moments was walking on the Canopy Walkway. Standing high above the rainforest, surrounded by giant trees that have been here for millions of years, was both exciting and peaceful. The bridge moves a little as you walk, but the panoramic view is absolutely worth it.
Another highlight was taking a boat ride along the Tembeling River. The scenery changes every minute, and the cool breeze made the ride incredibly relaxing. It felt like entering another world.
At night, I joined a short night jungle walk. It wasn't about spotting big animals—it was about hearing the rainforest come alive. Every sound felt mysterious, and it became one of the most memorable parts of my trip.
📍Things You Shouldn't Miss
🌿 Canopy Walkway One of the longest canopy walkways in the world. Perfect for experiencing the rainforest from above.
🚤 Boat Ride to Lata Berkoh or Rapid Shooting The river journey is just as enjoyable as the destination. If you don't mind getting a little wet, rapid shooting is surprisingly fun!
🥾 Jungle Trekking There are trails for both beginners and experienced hikers. Even the shorter hikes offer beautiful rainforest scenery.
🌌 Night Walk A completely different experience after sunset. Bring a flashlight and enjoy the sounds of the jungle.
💡 Travel Tips
✔️ Wear lightweight, breathable clothes.
✔️ Bring insect repellent—mosquitoes are definitely part of the rainforest experience.
✔️ Good hiking shoes are highly recommended, especially after rain.
✔️ Carry enough drinking water because the weather can get very humid.
✔️ Start your activities early in the morning for cooler temperatures and better wildlife spotting.
💰 Estimated Budget
🎫 Park Entrance: RM1
📸 Camera Permit (if required): RM5
🌉 Canopy Walkway: Around RM5
🚤 Boat Tour: RM40–80 (depending on the activity)
🏨 Accommodation: RM80–250 per night
❤️ Final Thoughts
Taman Negara isn't a place filled with luxury attractions or Instagram cafés.
Instead, it offers something much rarer—a chance to disconnect from busy life and reconnect with nature.
Looking back, my favourite memories weren't just the canopy walkway or the boat ride. They were the quiet moments: listening to the rainforest, breathing the fresh air, and realizing how small we are compared to a forest that's over 130 million years old.
If you enjoy nature, adventure, and slow travel, Taman Negara deserves a spot on your Malaysia bucket list. 🌿

🌳 How to Spend 2D1N in a 130 Million Years Old Rainforest
Looking for a quick weekend escape from the city? Taman Negara Kuala Tahan, Pahang is just about a 4-hour drive from Cyberjaya and makes a great destination for a short nature getaway.
🚗 Day 1: Check In at Mutiara Taman Negara & Night Walk
After arriving at Taman Negara, I checked into Mutiara Taman Negara, the only resort located within the national park itself. Surrounded by nature, it was the perfect place to disconnect from the busy city life.
At night, I joined the guided night walk through the rainforest. Walking through the dark jungle while spotting insects and nocturnal animals was a unique experience that you don't get to enjoy every day. It was both exciting and eye-opening.
🚤 Day 2: Buffet Breakfast & Boat Trip to Lata Berkoh
The next morning started with a buffet breakfast before heading off on a boat trip to Lata Berkoh. The journey itself was part of the experience, with beautiful river scenery and lush rainforest views along the way.
We also stopped at Kelah Sanctuary before continuing to Lata Berkoh. The crystal-clear water, peaceful surroundings, and untouched rainforest atmosphere made it one of the most relaxing spots in Taman Negara. Definitely one of the best healing experiences I've had.
✨ Final Thoughts
After the boat trip, it was time to drive back to Cyberjaya. Even though it was only a short 2D1N trip, it felt like a proper break from the hustle and bustle of city life.
If you're looking for a weekend getaway filled with nature, fresh air, and a slower pace of life, Taman Negara Kuala Tahan is definitely worth considering.

Jungle Vibes & Starry Nights in Jerantut & Tembeling ✨🌿
Ready to unleash your inner explorer? Let’s talk about my dreamy trip to Jerantut and Tembeling, the ultimate gateway to Taman Negara—a green wonderland you need on your bucket list ASAP. 😍
First Stop: Taman Negara
Address: Pahang, Malaysia
Opening Hours: Sunday 09:00–17:30; Monday–Saturday 09:30–17:30
As soon as I arrived at the entrance of Taman Negara, the vibes hit different. Imagine a streetlamp glowing against the lush backdrop and green everywhere—super aesthetic, especially at night. This place is not just a rainforest; it’s literally a vibe. Jungle soundscape, wild greenery, and the perfect spot for stargazing (if you’re lucky with the weather 🌟).
Chillin’ at Tekoma Resort Taman Negara
Address: Lot 15289 Kuala Tahan
Checked into Tekoma Resort and let me say—it’s surrounded by absolute nature goals. You’re right next to the national park, ferry jetty, and all the touristy hotspots. The rooms come packed with essentials like a kettle (for those late-night noodles), fridge, hairdryer, and even an iron. Super bright, clean, and comfy.
What’s Poppin’ Nearby:
– River cruising? Jungle trekking? Just ask the friendly staff. They’re seriously so nice!
– Perfect nature hideout for relaxing or being a total wild child in the jungle.
Breakfast Buff: The breakfast here is sooo good—tons of tasty options to fuel your adventures. 🥐☕
FYI: Some guests mentioned the rooms could use a lil’ TLC (think: updating fixtures, fixing stains), and refunds might be a *tad* slow, but overall the atmosphere and staff make up for it.
Photo Mood:
Think moody jungle paths, sun peeking through the treetops, and Chinese-inspired architecture mixed with the wild outdoors. (Cloudy, rainy, or sunny, every snap is giving ‘travel goals’.)
Hot Take:
If you’re big on adventure AND comfort, Jerantut-Taman Negara plus Tekoma Resort is a winning combo. Nature, culture, tasty brekkie, and starry nights—what else could you ask for? 🏞️✨

Ready to escape into the wild? Tembeling in Taman Negara Pahang is an absolute nature lover’s dream—the highlight here is the iconic Taman Negara Canopy Walkway, a sky-high bridge stretching through lush rainforest 🌿🌄.
Must-See Spot:
· Taman Negara Canopy Walkway (Taman Negara National Park, Malaysia): Walk 40m above ground on one of the world’s longest suspension bridges! Opens daily 10am–3pm. Entry fee: RM5 (grab tickets at the park entrance).
· No booking needed—just show up early, especially on weekends to beat the crowds.
Personal Tip:
Pack lightly with a comfy, supportive red backpack—you'll appreciate it when climbing, especially with all that jungle humidity. The paths get slippery, so wear proper trail shoes. Stay hydrated! Bring a reusable bottle to refill at park stations.
Best View:
Take a breather halfway—there’s a small rest spot on the walkway overlooking epic mountain backdrops. Perfect day for a sunny selfie among the vibrant foliage and towering trees.
Getting Around:
Reach Taman Negara by public bus from Jerantut, then jump on a riverboat for that classic jungle arrival. Inside the park, everything’s walkable, but pace yourself and give yourself time to soak in the scenery.
Food Rec:
Eat local—try the simple riverside restaurants near the park gate. Go for ikan bakar (grilled fish) with steamed rice, super fresh and wallet-friendly!
Destination Tips:
No visa needed for most countries (double-check if you’re from outside ASEAN). Best weather: March–September (dry season). Bring cash; ATMs are rare!

River Breezes & Jungle Vibes: A Weekend in Taman Negara Pahang
Needed a break from the concrete jungle, so I traded Kuala Lumpur’s skyscrapers for real trees — and ended up cruising through one of the oldest rainforests on Earth.
Yep, I went full nature-mode at Taman Negara Pahang, and let me tell you… the boat ride alone was worth the trip!
Think: tropical vibes, river breezes, and scenery straight out of a National Geographic episode.
Here’s what my jungle escape looked like:
🚤 A super relaxing boat ride that felt like I was cruising through a real-life painting
🌿 The jungle vibes were so soothing — I could literally hear the trees whispering
🍽️ Had some seriously delicious local dishes (like home-cooked comfort food in the jungle)
🌑 Nighttime was magical — nothing beats the quiet of a jungle under the stars
If you're looking for an easy escape from the hustle of KL, Taman Negara is your perfect weekend getaway. And guess what? It’s closer than you think. 🚗💨
