Then there is the Leaning Tower of Toruń, a medieval defensive tower built in the 14th century. Due to ground subsidence, the tower leans about 1.4 to 1.5 meters out of plumb. It is part of the Medieval Town of Toruń—a UNESCO World Heritage site—and serves as one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Visitors often take quirky photos here, trying to balance themselves to match the tower's tilt. You will also find the Monument to Filuś the Dog. The monument portrays Filuś, the loyal dog of Professor Filutek from the beloved comic strip, holding his master's bowler hat in his mouth and patiently waiting for his return. An umbrella, also made of bronze, leans against the adjacent streetlamp. It is a quiet place with convenient transportation. Most of the guests are business travelers, so the decoration is relatively simple. It can be seen that the hotel is a bit old, the decoration and facilities are a bit old, and it is not easy to maintain. The room is not big, but the pillows and bed are comfortable to lie on, and it is very quiet, so I had a good night's sleep and there is nothing to complain about. The price is very cheap, a double room excluding breakfast is about NT$1,500 per night. Toruń is a stopover, so I didn't particularly pick a hotel. Accommodation locations - Warsaw, (Krakow, Wroclaw, Torun, Gdansk, Vilnius). *Warsaw* Oki Doki Old Town Hostel 10-bed mixed dorm, 1 bed The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the Old Town, making it super convenient to get anywhere. The nearest bus stop is only about a 5-minute walk away. The room size is pretty decent and very clean. It comes with personal lockers that are quite spacious, the ones for the bottom bunks seem even bigger, and they can be locked with your room card. The beds have privacy curtains, which is awesome. There are also power outlets inside each bunk. There is an en-suite bathroom. It’s clean enough, but the floor gets flooded heavily whenever someone takes a shower, so I always used the shared bathrooms outside. The kitchen is on the smaller side but very cute, featuring both indoor and outdoor dining areas, along with a fridge and microwave. Free coffee and tea bags are provided. No breakfast. However, there are tons of restaurants and cafes nearby, so you definitely won't go hungry. The front desk staff have a good attitude. They might not be overly enthusiastic, but that's not a big deal. Their English is quite good. 💝 Bonus points--has a coin laundry (not expensive) and an elevator. These two things are totally awesome! 🅾️ Downsides--there's a small bar downstairs, a bit noisy. Not sure about other rooms or other floors ⛔️ Roommates in mixed dorms are really a wild card. Since both I and other travelers have encountered super noisy roommates here, and this place is very popular, I'd highly recommend female travelers to book a female-only dorm if possible.
