After leaving Zion, we drove another 80 miles, barely making it to the vicinity of Bryce National Park before nightfall. We thought it would just be a short, tiring journey, but the day-night cycle in Bryce gave us a double dose of breathtaking beauty! In one day, we went from forest creatures to the depths of the universe: 🦌 An unexpected encounter in the woods at dusk (Photos 2-4) Seeing that it wasn't completely dark yet, we decided to drive around the park entrance area. We were incredibly lucky! We stumbled upon a whole herd of deer foraging in the grass beside the road. Their cautious, elegant yet wary movements were like a mysterious welcome gift from the wilderness. 🌌 Swamp Canyon: First glimpse of the dazzling Milky Way (Photos 5-8) Back at our accommodation that night, we suddenly discovered that the Bryce area is a world-renowned stargazing destination, completely free of light pollution. How could we resist? At 1 a.m., I sneaked out with my camera! A quick test at Swamp Canyon revealed a breathtaking sight: the vast Milky Way stretched across the sky, visible to the naked eye, so beautiful it took my breath away. (Image 9: Same angle as the next morning). 🪵 Farview Canyon: Dead Trees, Starry Sky, and Mysterious Light Trails (Images 10-11) Feeling something was missing from the image, I moved to the Farview Canyon parking lot. With the silhouettes of these dead trees in the foreground, the composition instantly gained depth and a sense of solitude! Even more fortunately, a long exposure captured a mysterious ray of light shooting straight through the Milky Way (Image 1)—although its uniform trajectory suggests it's likely a satellite or airplane, it still looks incredibly futuristic against this ancient starry sky billions of light-years away. (Image 12: Same angle as the next morning). While everyone else was fast asleep, we packed our cameras and ventured into the darkness.
