I traveled to the Netherlands in September.🇳🇱🌷 This was a quick one-day trip to Utrecht from Amsterdam. The city is pretty small, so I think one day is plenty of time to fully enjoy it. 1. Address: Stationsplein 6, 3511 ED Utrecht, Netherlands Why I recommend it: When you think of the Netherlands, you think of French fries🍟 They offer a huge variety of topping sauces and seasonings. The two of us ordered the mega size, but the portion was so huge we couldn't finish it all at once. It's a waste to fill up on just fries, so I highly recommend getting a smaller size. Rating: 5/5 2. Address: Domplein 9, 3512 JE Utrecht, Netherlands Why I recommend it: This is a must-visit spot if you go to Utrecht. The city view from the top is absolutely stunning! The inside is also packed with things to see.⚠️ Keep in mind that the stairs are very narrow and long, so I don't recommend it if you're not confident in your stamina. It can be quite exhausting. I had my lunch from Habesha Food Truck - Ethiopian and Eritrean🇪🇹The woman is so kind and friendly and I really had a nice lunch there. There are significantly fewer tourists here, yet the city's vibe is quite similar to Amsterdam's, just without the major crowds you'd find at the Rijksmuseum or the Van Gogh Museum. It's super convenient too – you can reach Amsterdam in just half an hour by train. What's even more impressive is how incredibly budget-friendly the Park + Ride (P+R) parking garages are on the outskirts of Utrecht. For just 3 Euros, a group of 1 to 5 people can park all day and get a day pass for public transport into the city! Germany's Green Party should really take notes from this eco-friendly and affordable model! #myhiddengems I learnt the importance of the NS app, when I boarded a train headed towards vleuten, but the train didn't stop at Vleuten. So yes keep that in mind, not all trains do. Mine was a day try trip from Utrecht. A quick train ride to Vleuten and then a bus ride to the nearest stop of the castle. Walked 15 more minutes and there was the castle. One could also do this from from Amsterdam but may be the train ride would be 50-60 minutes. Any who, if the idea of the largest castle in the country and with a Disney like architecture appeals to you. You cannot miss the De Haar castle. It has a massive park surrounding it. You might want to not rush or have too many plans for the same day. I mean I took my time and easily spent close to 4 hours here. But even otherwise I would say 2 plus hours easily for the castle and garden alone. It's got several rooms and there will be information to take in. I paid two entry fees. One for the garden and one for castle. But I do remember it being under 30 euros altogether.
