Let me introduce a bakery🥖 where you're super lucky if you can snag one of their treats♥. My absolute favorite is the salty pretzel🥨! As of the end of July 2026↓ the schedule is as follows. ⚠️I highly recommend confirming the exact business hours🈺 directly with the store. Mon, Tue, Wed: Closed Thu, Fri: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sat: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Sun: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM 1️⃣ It looks just like a normal house turned bakery. You buy your bread like you would at a cake shop—just point out what you want from the display case, and they get it for you. It's really reassuring from a hygiene perspective☺. They don't have a massive selection, but the mouthwatering breads really catch your eye. Right after I walked in, a customer who seemed to be a local popped in, quickly bought a single baguette🥖, and left. It must be amazing... I totally should have bought one too. 2️⃣ SDGs🈹 Discount Prices If you're lucky, you might stumble upon this✨️! There was a dedicated section selling leftover bread from the previous day at half price. When I visited, they had sweet potato & cream cheese, and mentaiko (spicy cod roe) butter. At just 180 yen for half price, it was such an affordable steal, so I had to buy them! Both were delicious, but the mentaiko butter one really stood out—the saltiness and the sweetness of the butter paired perfectly with the chewy bread😋. I'd definitely buy this again, even at full price! 3️⃣ Chairs🪑 are available inside and outside the store. You can sit down and enjoy your freshly bought treats right away☺. 4️⃣ Universal Design♿ Although it's a small shop, it has a well-maintained wheelchair ramp. Just be careful, as the shop door🚪 is quite heavy. 【Neighborhood Info🗺️】 Tsubame no Mori Central Park⛲️⋯ Right diagonally across the street is Tsubame no Mori Central Park, where you can enjoy a stroll or the playground. In the summer, there's a splash pad with water shooting up from the ground, and kids were having a blast playing in the water in T-shirts👕, shorts🩳, and swimsuits. 🈚️ Free Rental Bikes🚴‍♀️⋯ The shop is close to JR Yamashita Station, and surprisingly enough, you can rent bicycles completely for free! They are also available near JR Sakamoto Station, so if you're confident in your stamina💪 and want to cycle around Yamamoto Town, definitely give it a try😊 (Check out the second-to-last photo📷️). Also, for a limited time, there's a sunflower field🌻 in Yamamoto Town where you can view and pick sunflowers for free🈚️. Taking a nice walk over there could be really fun💖 (See the last photo📷️).

I went to the Yamamoto Sunflower Festival✨ Imagine a vast field filled with 3 million sunflowers🌻! The festival's duration depends on the blooms, so it might be extended or shortened. Be sure to check their website or social media before you go😊 📍 Address: Kitanakasuka, Takase, Yamamoto-cho, Watari-gun, Miyagi 989-2202 ☎ Phone: 0223-37-1119 ⚠️ Heads Up! ① 🅿️ There isn’t a large designated parking lot. Instead, you follow the signs and park along a one-way path on the grounds. Please note that there are no accessible parking spots ♿. The dirt paths through the sunflower field can be bumpy, but I saw visitors using canes 🩼 and walkers. It’s a wonderful place that everyone can enjoy💖 ② ☔️ The ground gets extremely muddy on rainy days or the day after, so I highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes 👟 that you don't mind getting dirty. ✅️ Top Tips ① We had someone using a cane with us, so we didn't climb it, but there's an observation tower where you can look out over the sea of sunflowers🌻. The stairs are a bit steep, but it's a must-do if you want a panoramic view of the 3 million blooms! ② 🈚️ You can pick sunflowers for free! Feel free to take your hand-picked sunflowers🌻 home as a souvenir. It's best to bring your own picking supplies: ・Work gloves🧤 ・Scissors✂️ ・Wet paper towels ・Plastic bags ・Newspaper📰 ↑ I brought these items with me. After cutting the sunflowers🌻, I wrapped the stems in wet paper towels, placed them in a plastic bag, and then wrapped the whole thing in newspaper for the ride home. ⚠️ Sunflowers🌻 drop a lot of pollen, so I definitely recommend✅️ wrapping them in newspaper to keep your car clean. → The final photo📷️ shows the sunflowers🌻 I brought home. Even after two hours since picking, they still looked super fresh😊 ③ 🈚️ Free bicycle🚴‍♀️ rentals are available! You can rent them near JR Yamashita Station and JR Sakamoto Station. Check out the second-to-last photo📷️. It's a bit of a ride, but if you're up for it, biking to the sunflower field sounds like a blast♥ ④ Yamamoto-cho is home to an amazing bakery called Brot Dorf😋 Their hard breads, like the pretzels🥨, are highly recommended✅️. Just check their schedule as they have prep days when they might be closed. Eating freshly bought bread while gazing at the sunflowers is just the best♥ It looks like a regular house, so it's easy to miss. It's located right next to Tsubamenomori Chuo Park, so keep a close eye out once you get near the park!

You can rent a bicycle from "Dream Strawberry Country" near JR Sakamoto Station, or it's just as convenient to take the tram! 📍Inside Takase Kitachu Suga Land, Yamamoto-cho ・Sunflower Hill, Sanppongi, Osaki City This one attraction is a bit more distance from Sendai Airport, but is highly recommended, with about 420,000 sunflowers, forming a small hill where you can take beautiful photos!
