The NC500 coach tour with Loch Lomond Travel was a fantastic journey from start to finish. Our driver was exceptional — friendly, highly skilled, and confident, making every mile feel relaxed and safe. She didn’t just drive; she guided us with genuine love for the Highlands and its wildlife, making it feel like we were traveling with someone who truly cared about every moment. The scenery along the NC500 was absolutely breathtaking. Each day brought new views — rugged coastlines, sweeping mountains, serene lochs — and the photo stops were perfectly timed, allowing us to fully take in the beauty. Nothing ever felt rushed; we had plenty of time to explore, take pictures, and simply enjoy the experience. One of the highlights was the number of well-organized, preplanned day trips. Every stop was thoughtfully chosen, offering us the chance to explore charming towns, scenic viewpoints, and local attractions at a relaxed pace. The balance between travel, sightseeing, and photo stops was spot on, making the entire journey feel enjoyable. We stayed in two hotels: The Gairloch Hotel in Gairloch and The Station Hotel in Thurso. Both were lovely, with comfortable rooms and warm welcomes after long days of exploring. The staff at each hotel were attentive and helpful, ensuring our evenings were stress-free. The meals were excellent, with plentiful and high-quality food at breakfast and dinner, adding even more enjoyment to the trip. Our route included a wonderful variety of stops: Pitlochry, Inverness, Sheildaig, Lochcarron, Ullapool, Smoo Cave, Wick, and John O’ Groats. Each destination offered something unique, from coastal views to charming villages and dramatic landscapes. On our return journey, we visited Dunrobin Castle, enjoying a tour and an impressive falconry display in the gardens. A final stop in Pitlochry allowed us to stretch our legs and enjoy the town before heading home. The atmosphere onboard the coach was another highlight. Every passenger was friendly, kind, and ready for a laugh, creating a cheerful and relaxed environment full of shared moments. This trip wasn’t just a tour — it was a heartfelt experience. Gorgeous scenery, a passionate and dedicated driver, thoughtfully chosen stops, comfortable hotels, and wonderful company made this an unforgettable journey through the Highlands. Great value for money. The coach was both attractive and comfortable. Craig, the driver, was very pleasant and accommodating. I particularly loved the trip to Orkney, guided by a local lady named Thelma. The Italian Chapel was a highlight for me. I would absolutely return. The only drawback was that Wick was mostly closed due to the bank holiday. Overall, it was an excellent experience. The hotel was clean and the meals were superb. Our group bonded well, making the holiday even better.
