The descent is all stairs, making you question your life choices. 2️⃣Day 2: Zhanggou / Xiyagou → Zhoujiapu → Donglian → Xilian → Jiulianshan Grand Canyon → Laolongkou Waterfall → Baligou Scenic Area (about 40km, around 9 hours) Features: Less climbing, easier paths, mostly cliffside trails. Details: The homestay owner took us to Zhoujiapu. From there to Donglian is all cliffside trails with tree cover, so it’s not too scary. Just watch your step and don’t worry too much. (The narrower sections have been repaired.) Between Donglian and Xilian, you can take a keji ride for 15 RMB per person, saving a lot of walking. ⚠️Important tip: After passing Laolongkou Waterfall, the path gets difficult and walking in the dark is very dangerous. Order a bowl of osmanthus cake with mung bean soup—sweet but not greasy. ⚠️ Don’t walk the whole route at noon.
