Santa Barbara Castle, Spain

Address: Recommended points: A fortress in Alicante, a city on the Mediterranean coast in the Valencian Community in southeastern Spain. In the 9th century, Muslims built a fortress on the site of an ancient Carthaginian castle on the top of Mount Benacantil, in the northeast of the old town. Many of the buildings that can be seen today were built after the Reconquista, between the 16th and 18th centuries. It's a very steep road to Santa Barbara Castle, but the view from there is spectacular.
