Los Angeles Travel Diary

This is the home of Dr. Brown in the "Back to the Future" trilogy, and it is also California's 871st historical landmark, listed in the National Register of Historic Places. In April 1977, the residence was declared a National Historic Landmark in the United States. Today, the house is owned by the city of Pasadena and maintained by the School of Architecture at the University of Southern California. Located in Pasadena, California, the Gamble House is a three-story building with interior furnishings designed by Charles and Henry Greene in 1908 for David and Mary Gamble, of Procter & Gamble. The entire residence is constructed of wood, with a unified color scheme both inside and out. The house features intricately carved wooden interiors, eye-catching wood grain decorations, and custom-made wooden furniture. Today, the Gamble House is considered a masterpiece of the American Arts and Crafts movement, serving as a living textbook for people to learn and understand the style of American Arts and Crafts.
