The Wandering Chef

Check in at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre for 0 baht, where you can enjoy delicious food, take beautiful photos, and have a great time browsing

Every time I visit a city, I like to explore the local museums and art centers. Surprisingly, Bangkok also has so many art galleries that are both enjoyable to visit and photogenic. Due to limited time, I only chose the conveniently located Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). It's near the Siam shopping district and often hosts exhibitions on photography, design, fashion, drama, and more. When we visited, there happened to be a graduation design exhibition, featuring all sorts of imaginative clothing and CI designs. Besides, the architecture of the place is also worth seeing. The most unique feature is the staircase, similar to New York's Guggenheim Museum, with a spiraling walkway that leads visitors all the way to the top floor. The surrealist style is just like what was said in the Japanese drama 'Quartet': 'There are three paths in life: the uphill, the downhill, and the unexpected.' One should have the confidence to enjoy the uphill and the courage to complete the downhill, while also being able to handle all the unexpected turns in life's journey. The Bangkok Art Centre is really big, I remember it having about 9 floors, and inside there are bookstores, shops, and cafes. The air conditioning is just right, not too cold or too hot, making it a perfect spot for art enthusiasts to spend the whole day. If you're just there to take photos, please allocate at least 2 hours. Right across from the art center is a shopping mall with a supermarket and restaurants, so after browsing, you can eat and shop to your heart's content. We discovered an ultra-sexy maid cafe but chose a Thai restaurant next door with handsome waiters instead. The 68🐷 Thai noodle soup was deliciously explosive. Transportation: BTS Siam Station Exit 2, walk 850 meters, opposite MBK Center. Connected to Siam Discovery by a sky bridge. BTS National Stadium Station Exit 3, a 2-minute walk. Opening hours: 10:00——19:00, closed on Mondays Admission: Free
