World Cultural Heritage - The Grand Palace of Bangkok

The Grand Palace of Bangkok, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, was established in 1782. Despite over two centuries, it remains resplendently golden and glittering. The Grand Palace is now open to the public except for certain festivals and ceremonies, and its unique architecture has attracted countless visitors to witness its splendor. The area of the Grand Palace is quite large, and in my opinion, half a day is enough to explore it fully. The Grand Palace, which embodies Thai architectural features, Thai royal culture, and Buddhist culture, is truly a must-see attraction. Although it is often crowded, once you see the unique buildings and experience the different exotic royal cultures, you will feel that the trip was worthwhile. As a Buddhist country, there are dress codes for entering temples; one must not wear skirts or shorts above the knee, and even skorts are not allowed. A fellow tourist had to buy a scarf to cover up before entering. After admiring the grandeur of the Grand Palace, I also recommend taking a boat from the left exit (only one stop on the boat, and be mindful that the right side is for public boats and the left for private ones; I recommend the company boat for a cheaper price) to visit the serene and elegant Wat Arun. It presents a striking contrast to the opulence of the Grand Palace, and in my opinion, it is the most beautiful 😂
