Mandarin Oriental Bangkok｜Missing it means missing the charm of Thailand

Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is a historic building located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, with a history of 148 years. Many famous writers, such as Maugham, have stayed here, and it is also a must-stay for royal families from various countries visiting Thailand. It houses Thailand's first jazz club, the Bamboo Bar, offers afternoon tea at the 'Authors' Wing' in the first old building of the Mandarin, and has a spa that requires a boat ride to reach. Almost everywhere, you can find a story of Thailand. This is also the first hotel I stayed at where there is a live band performance in the lobby at 7:30 PM. The Mandarin Oriental exudes an old-money & colonial style everywhere, with various bright tropical plants arranged in a staggered manner. However, I also stayed at many other hotels this time, and it is obvious that the Mandarin Oriental is different from other hotels that prefer young and bright service staff. Every staff member I encountered here was slightly older, elegant like an orchid. If you also stay in a suite at the Mandarin Oriental, you will have a large suite facing the Chao Phraya River. The suite entrance is hidden in the dark part of the corridor, giving more of a homey feeling. Whether in the living room, dining room, or balcony, you can see the Chao Phraya River flowing outside the window. The river surface is incandescent in the morning, making you feel that a day is worth wasting, and at night, it is extraordinarily enchanting with cruise ships adorning it. One of the major experiences of staying at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is taking a boat daily to the trendy shopping mall ICONSIAM, the Thai-style spa center, or the tennis court on the opposite bank of the river. The spa center at the Mandarin Oriental is also worth mentioning. It is said that wealthy people in the past in Thailand would have servants at home to massage them at three or four in the afternoon. This spa center aims to continue this story, making you feel like you are staying at a Thai friend's house. At two in the afternoon, lemongrass tea is served, your limbs are kneaded open, and your soul deeply sighs with enjoyment.
