Pay homage to Phra Phuttha Sukhothai at Wat Ratchasingkhorn

🙏 Wat Ratchasingkhorn, a royal temple, is an ancient temple built during the reign of King Boromakot. 🏰 Later, Prince Maha Surasinghanat restored it and built the ordination hall. The boundary markers are embedded in the walls of the ordination hall in all eight directions, showcasing favored Buddhist art. 🙏 The principal Buddha image in the ordination hall is a stucco Buddha in the Māravijaya posture, an art form from the U-Thong period. 🏰 He also built the vihara along with the ordination hall to house Phra Phuttha Sukhothai or Luang Pho Daeng. 🙏 Luang Pho Daeng is a bronze Buddha image in the Māravijaya posture, an Ayutthaya art form influenced by Sukhothai art. It was brought from Ayutthaya along with Luang Pho Thongkham and Luang Pho Samrit before the fall of the city. 🏰 In 1831, Princess Phikunthong and Princess Kesorn, daughters of Prince Maha Surasinghanat, restored it during the reign of King Rama III.
