Visit Phra Phuttha Maha Chanok and see the ancient execution platform.

🙏 Wat Pathum Khongkha Ratchaworawihan, a second-class royal monastery, was originally named Wat Sampheng. It dates back to the Ayutthaya period and was in a state of disrepair. Somdet Phra Bowornrajchao Maha Sura Singhanat restored and repaired the entire temple, and King Rama I renamed it Wat Pathum Khongkha. 🙏 During the reign of King Rama III, restoration began but was not completed. King Rama IV continued the restoration. 🙏 He elevated the Phra Phuttha Maha Chanok, a Buddha image in royal attire, the principal Buddha image in the ordination hall, and placed it on a higher base. He also added two statues of celestial kings holding golden and silver flower umbrellas. 🙏 Inside, there is a walkway around the ordination hall, lined with Buddha images. 🛖 There are ballast stones decorated in various places within the temple. In the early days, these ballast stones were plain stones and not yet carved into stone dolls. During the reign of King Rama III, ⛵ when Siam sent goods to China, the junks needed sufficient weight to navigate the sea waves. Without enough weight, the ships would sway and could not sail through the waves.
