Worship the Two Principal Buddha Statues in the Three-Story Ubosot

🏰Wat Samphanthawongsaram Worawihan, a third-class royal temple, was originally a common temple with no known founder, dating back to the Ayutthaya period. 🏞In the past, the temple's land was adjacent to the Chao Phraya River and surrounded by a canal connected to the river, hence the name "Wat Ko" (Island Temple). 🏰King Rama I ordered Prince Samphanthawong, Krom Luang Phitak Montri (Prince Jui), the founder of the Montri family, to renovate the entire temple. 🏰The temple was then established as a royal temple and named Wat Ko Kaew Langkaram in 1796. 🏰King Rama IV later renamed it Wat Samphanthawongsaram Worawihan to honor Prince Samphanthawong, who founded the temple. 🏰Inside the temple is a large three-story ubosot with a mandapa roof, housing two principal Buddha statues.
